I am one of the Monistat converts. And for a while now it has been working wonderful. But in the past couple of weeks, I notice that the gel flakes off my face. I let it dry completely, so it isn't that. But I have to rub off the flakes before I put my makeup on, which is probably taking the gel off my face in the first place. Anyone having this problem too? I even bought a new container, and it happened again this morning. :confused3

Have you changed your cleanser? I would write to the company (only do not tell them it is flaking on your face) and tell them it is flaking. Mabye they can help you.

About the lashes staying on more than one day: The lady at the beauty supply told me that is for the clumps only. The strips you take off at night and put back in the case. But like I said, mine all came off in the shower the next day so I either did it wrong or you truely cannot touch your eyes, which I cannot do!

Well, I'm going on my 3rd day for some of my lashes, 2nd day for the others (couple I replaced, and added a few more too). Didn't lose ANY while sleeping last night, despite the fact that I woke myself up SEVERAL times because I was rubbing and playing with my eyes in my sleep (no joke!!).

I ended up soaking a cotton ball in baby oil to clean my eye area last night before bed since I can't really wash my eyes when I wash my face. Worked very well and had the added bonus of extra moisturizer on that area.

Showering is HARD!! I'm an eye rubber. I can't STAND even a drop of water on/in my eyes. I've never been one to come up out of a pool and just open my eyes. I have to rub and rub... and rub some more before I can open them. So I'm having a really difficult time in the shower. It's impossible to avoid even a little spray of water in your eyes while washing hair, etc. Once I close my eyes, I can't get them open again without rubbing, so ARG... I end up showering with my eyes closed. This is going to take some work on my part to get used to water on my eyes....

Other than that, I am still LOVING these things! So very pretty!! :lovestruc

Please allow a quick OT post. Do any of you belong to other clique threads and if so will you invite me in? My other clique thread died a slow and painful death and I love talking to you girls here, but I need to talk about other than makeup once in a while *gasp*. I'm a DISorphan looking for a new home!

I am the exact same way! That's too funny. What is it that I am so afraid of water to get in my eyes? "Be careful MPA! Don't want to get your eyes MORE wet!" I thought I was the only one. :lmao:

dec5girl, I couldn't help you much. I don't belong to any other cliques. One time I clicked on something that shows how many posts each person has posted on a this thread and I was shocked to see that I posted over 100 times to this thread alone! And that was a while ago! Usually, if I see a topic that interests me, I'll add something to it. But I rarely post much more after that unless they respond to something I said. But everyone is so friendly (for the most part anyway), I'm sure they wouldn't mind you joining in.

I don't belong to any of the cliques here either. Gosh, I wasn't even aware of any. We have cliques here on the DIS? LOL!

I'd be fine with us "make-up gals" chatting about other stuff on this thread, but I guess that's up to the OP? We can even talk about being afraid of water in our eyes, LOL, right MPA? :)

Wow, I thought I was the only one! I sit by the pool and watch people as they come out. Always amazes me that they don't have to touch their eyes, LOL! If I could swim with a towel, I would :rotfl2:

What is the deal with this mascara??? Did my last 2 tubes come from an 'off' batch last time? :confused3

They must have been. I just thought you were crazy ;) . But as you can see, the stuff stays put.

Which one would you be referring to, hmmmmm???? :rolleyes1

Kind of OT I need a picture of a hairstyle to show my hairdresser. I lost the one I used last time and I am horrible at describing what I want. Any good websites for hairstyle images. I looked up a few but could not find what I wanted. I want a bob with long layered in the back (slighlty shorter in the back so the line looks straight all around) parted on the side with a little of those choppy cut into things on the side just to under my jaw. Anyone know what I mean? I cannot find it and I need to go to the hair dresser before I go to WDW. It is easier with hair a little shorter of couse then my face looks like a huge pumpkin in photos(so I do not get in them).:confused3

Yes....I know what you mean. I'm on my phone, or I'd look for them for you, now.

When you getting this done? My g/f has this style right now, and I'll see her Saturday, if you can wait. She has a perfect version of it, too. Good stylist. :)

Yes deardaisy - join in!

GUESS WHAT GUYS? GOOD NEWS (for me, at least) my beauty supply started carrying the Morrocan Oil line. WHOLESALE! Yipppeeeee!

Thanks CR I am not going for a week but I figured if I started now I could find what I need by then. Thanks a million. Kills me I lost the picture I had. Once, I took a course and we all loved the instructor's hair so much we took her picture and then I brought it to my hairdresser.

Good morning ladies! This is like the best thread on the dis in a long time! I check it every morning to see what great tips have been added.

Couple of quick questions....

I saw someone mention spritzing their brush before applying their BE. I can't find that post and I'm wondering what they spritz it with and is it before or after they put the powder on the brush.

Also my dd14 has blond hair and it is kind of dry. She has tried different conditioners but most of them leave her hair looking greasy. Also she tends to get a very dry flaky scalp. Anyone have any good tips to help?

My quick tip for the day is once or twice a week I add a little sugar to my cleanser. It makes a very good yet gentle scrub. My dd uses this when she is starting to break out a little and it helps clear it up.

I found a solution to my Monistat flaking problem. I decided to sort of exfoliate my face with a Buff Puff. I usually do that every once in a while. Well, I decided to do that this morning, and guess what? The Monistat didn't flake! Yay! :cool1: I'm so glad I figured out what the problem is.

I would say Morrocan Oil it hydrates yet does not make the hair greasy. Get the smallest size you can it is beginning to be available everywhere and then if you like it go for the full size . See the first page of this thread for the best place to get it. I also use the hydrating cream which I put in and then style.

Sugar in your cleanser is good but it will produce glycolic acid when it breaks down so be sure to wash with plenty of cool water. I use baking soda which helps to neutralize the ph of my skin. The sugar will neutralize the ph of your skin if you need an acid also because it is an acid as opposed to a base which is what baking soda is. Next time someone says ....I don't need chemestry I am going into beauty tell them they are wrong:rotfl:

Good to know. Good thing you did not write to the company like I said because I do not think they would tell you to exfoliate if the product was used for its intended purpose. :rotfl::rotfl:

I didn't want to go OT, but I like to chat!

I hate water in my eyes too. I think that is how I popped all my lashes off in the shower. I have to rub.

Cat ~ Seriously, I'm lonely now. I really got to know some of the girls that way and I miss them!!!

I have hair issues right now too! Help! I'm getting it colored tomorrow and it is a close friend that colors my hair. But I cannot describe to her what I want. She did a couple of strands yesterday in a test color and I don't think it's what I'm looking for. And this is WITH a picture of an actress. I'm a brunette who went blonde and almost everyone loves it but my DH, so I was going to go a little darker just to please him but I don't think I'm going to like it.

My friend who does my hair found something called Marrakesh Oil. Same stuff??? She was going to get it for me, but I said WAIT! I have to ask my makeup friends first!!!

NO Marrakesh Oil is not the same stuff. My friend tried it and then she did the Morrocan and she said there was no comparison. If I am not mistaken the Marrakesh is less expensive and when my friend went to the beauty supply they sold it to her but that was because they did not have the Morrocan. Like I said get the smallest one they have in Morrocan and then get the large size at Cosmetic Magic if you like it.

As for the hair style I cannot find a website to show what I want and frankly it is a no brainer. He did not do long layers in my bob last time and I look like a page boy in some Elizabethian Play.:scared1:

Xena - we're just on FB now. I wish SUN would join. :(

Kidding.

Hmmm....I wonder how the Morrocan oil compares to Ojon? I have some of the Ojon oil.

LOL I don't know the chemistry of the sugar I only know it exfoliates my skin and makes it smoother and my makeup goes on better. I do agree with using cool water with it. It helps my dd get rid of small pimples and black heads. Her skin is very sensitive and has never had a problem. I have also used the baking soda and agree that it works well also.

I also keep a spray bottle of vinegar and water in the shower as we have very hard water and it helps get the build up out and makes my hair shiny. I use it about once every 2 weeks or so.

Good morning, my beautiful DIS friends!

I'm still holding my breath for when hubbie takes a look at the credit card statement online, LOL. I've spent a little over $300 this week on beauty products. Ouch! But it's REALLY fun to have packages delivered every day to my house!:cloud9::banana::goodvibes

That was probably me mentioning it. I'm not sure where the original post is. But the directions were to swirl your brush in the powder, tap off excess, then LIGHTLY spritz your brush (one spritz from a tiny bottle was all I needed) and apply make-up to your face. Swirl and blend around face until brush feels dry again. Repeat if necessary.

I loved how it looked. A little more coverage than applying dry.

Oh YAY! I was getting worried since I had just ordered a 3-pack through Amazon. Just applied it for the first time this morning! :cool1:

Say what?? I was a brain in school.... but came very close to flunking chemistry (despite the fact that my dad was a chemist :rotfl2:) I was thinking of making a body scrub using olive oil and sugar. What about salt then? I don't think baking soda would have as much "scrub" as I want...

As for the hair style I cannot find a website to show what I want and frankly it is a no brainer. He did not do long layers in my bob last time and I look like a page boy in some Elizabethian Play.:scared1:

I am REALLY surprised CathrynRose hasn't popped on with her gazillion hairstyle pictures! Waiting... waiting...

She posted a really cute one the other day that I printed. Going to take it to my stylist next month. Let me see if I can find it, but I don't think it's really what you're looking for... Oh crud, I just printed it from the other thread - never did save it to my files. I'll go look for it in a bit.

I don't care if it's OT....EXCEPT FOR WATER IN THE EYES! No talking about that.
