So how do the colors on the Baremineral line compare to Everyday minerals? Are they close at all (foundation colors)

EM is much better than BM IMHO and you can get free samples for only 395 for shipping. It is well worth it because they last at least a month and you can take them to travel but also it helps to pick which colors you want. EM come in three types so you can choose the coverage that is best for you.

HEre are some Cheap beauty tricks that really work:

Vaseline - slather on hands and feet before bed put gloves and socks on. The next morning voila silky hands and feet.

baking soda- Mix with water and or soap apply to face for a nice facial scrub

MY FAVORITE (This really works) Plain raw baking potato! Slice 2 pieces off your potatoe about 1/8 inch thick. Apply to each eye for about 60 seconds - viola no more puffy eyes! This does wonders believe in me!

Does anyone else have any "cheap" beauty tricks!?

(Boy I love this thread)

Baking soda and Cetaphil for a scrub because I find soap too drying. I use cucumber for depuffing my eyes. I will try the Vasiline but I do not now if I could stand the socks on all night.

Does the Cetaphil wash off easily with water? I would like to try it.

Get a pair of thin cotton socks for summer for winter I use a heavier cotton. It really does wonders.

Yes Cetaphil is what the dermatologist recommends but I saw it years ago when Paula Begoin(Don't Go to the Makeup Counter without this Book)mentioned it on a television show. I have used it for years and truly it is the basis for the cleanser that Philosophy charges big $$ for. Some people do not use water they just take it off with a tissue but I do not like that feeling.

I will try the cotton socks. As a matter of fact I just went to the dermatologist today and one of my complaints was my feet. If I use Vaseline on my hands however it makes my nail polish greasy. Any suggestions for that.

I only use the vaseline at night. But if you use a little during the day I would use a nail brush with a little bit of liquid soap and just brush your nails to get the greasy feel off.

I -do not- check my bags for this reason.

I was picking up my g/f fromthe airport, and when she got her bag, her entire makeup case was gone. The whole thing... gone! :sad2:

I've never check again, since then. I travel with guys (my husband and 2 sons) so I'm able to use their 1 quart bag, too.

Ahhh, how nice to be the only girl in the family. I bet you are spoiled! princess: I actually HID my makeup when I stayed at the Poly. I didn't go so far as to lock it up in a safe, but I made sure it was all put away and not left out all over the counter.

I left my brushes out when I did my makeup this morning to see how many I usually use. All those brushes and I use a grand total of seven. And only one of them came from one of my sets :headache:

Learn from me girls, don't buy brushes in sets. :teacher:

While I would agree I have to keep pushing the Borghase Costco Seasonal Set . Even if you use half and throw the rest away you are ahead of the game. I use most of them everyday and since I have 3 sets I only clean them every three days. SEE! I did it to be practical. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hey guys how many posts to a thread before they close it? I cannot remember if it is 2000 or 2500. WE can just use the same name but add number 2 to the title.

Sad story here, grab your tissues.......yesterday I went shopping with the kids and I went by Ulta and Sephora both, but I didn't get ANYTHING. :sad1:

I spent $500 on the kids for back to school, so I barely had any money left. But I thought maybe a lipgloss. I entered Sephora, brushed a sample of Buxom lipgloss on my hand, and my teenage son entered and told me "Mom, code red!" Code red??? What is this??? Well apparently it means that he was outside Sephora with his new girlfriend, and his old girlfriend walked by. Code red translates to we are leaving the mall now.

So we drove down the street to Old Navy, which is not connected to the mall. And guess what???? Ulta is next door to it. I've never been in Ulta. I'm so excited. We do Old Navy, spend a bunch more money, get in the car and start back up the freeway toward home, and all of a sudden I remember I forgot to go into Ulta after we left Old Navy. Very dissappointing!!!!!!:sad2:

Dec5Girl, that is a sad, sad story. I hate when that happens (the forgetting to go somewhere thing)!! :sad1::sad1:

I'm still waiting for them to start stocking that Ulta store down the street from me!

That is sad. Does this girl live in another town? "Cause if it were me I would tell my son he had to face her sometime. I must be a bad mother....but Sephora or a meeting of the two gf's ....Sephora wins out. Honest to God, Iwould have told him to hide in the men's room. LOL

I must confess I swore I would not get anymore makeup but I did go to ULTA today because they still had their own brand of quick dri polish topcoat in so I bought 4 of them and then I could not resist I got two ULTA eyeshadows. I am really really liking them. I am starting today ....no more make up for two weeks.

BUT I am not counting using my gift card because there is a Kat von D set that I like and that would not be really BUYINg makeup it would be using a card tht someone else gave me. If the person knew I liked the KAT von D she would have got it for me and I would have it so see I am not getting it for myself someone GOT it for me I only picked it up at the store. How is that for rationalization?

Was it you who had a new ULTA opening? If so remeber to go the first day for all the freebies. Then be sure to list what you got so we can live through you.

Yup, that's me!! You told me about the first day free stuff so I'm stalking the shopping center to see when they put up some sort of notice about the opening date. I'm so there! :)

Good luck with your "no buy" 2 weeks. I said the same thing but just tried a new brand of eyeshadow yesterday, fell in love with the colors and finish so I had to order more! Too good to pass up. LOL. Like it won't be available in a few weeks or so. :rotfl:

Do I dare ask what brand of eyeshadow it is ? If there is anything I go overboard on it is eyeshadow...as you can see from the inventory I took(really stupid idea on my part).

I hear you! That is my addiction - color! I tend to stick with indie companies for their prices, service and wilder selection. This one is Fyrinnae (shipping time was over 2 weeks though). I used a pink/mauve/charcoal combo on the lid with a sparkly blueish liner on my upper lid (the blueish is called Biker Chic). Loving it!! Less dramatic than it sounds, I promise. :lmao:

My second addition is lip colors. I cannot believe that some days I wear girly pink - NEVER thought I'd do that as I'm a fair skin brunette. It's like I'm breaking some rules or something!! :)
