A vibrating mascara is the "best bang for the buck"?!?!

Does Maybelline sell that KY Intense gel, too? :lmao:

so now I am really seeing a pattern, Monstat for your face, Prep H for your undereyes and I am not even going there with the vibrating mascara....draw your own conclusions. It makes me think of the Topsy Turvey song from Hunchback.

BTW I was in Costco today and they had the Strivectan (sp) neck cream two for 84 . I do not know the retail price but it says on the top of the package, "Do you have turkey neck?" Well, I want to firm my neck so I bought it. Most likely it is a placebo effect but I do feel some tightening.

I got the Liquid Keratin leave on conditioner at Ulta I hate it it is going back tomorrow. Stupid me did not read the ingredients...it has alcohol in it. NOT good for my hair.

I must say I do like the Ulta Shadows. They were 3.oo today and they really seem comparable to Mac. I asked the girl who worked there and she said while they were not made by MAC they were comparable. They are made in USA however if you get one of the Quads they are made in China so I did not get them in that formula. The sales girl tried to talk me into the big super delux kit that has every color they make but it was made in China so I did not get it. God knows it probably had lead in it.

Hi
I need recommendation for a good body lotion. It seems like my skin is changing and lotion just sits on my arms and feels very sticky. I've tried..
Aveeno, Neutrogena light sesame, Vaseline non sticky formula, Olay Ribbons,
Keri, Nivea but they all feel very sticky. I would like to find something that's light and silky.

TIA

I've been using and really like H2O+ Sea Marine Triple Butter Body Cream and, also, the Spa Hydrating Body Butter. The body butter is the same stuff you get when you stay at the Grand Floridian (and I think the other delux hotels). Really nice stuff and I don't find it to be sticky at all. They sell it at Ulta or you can order it online on their website.

Is it the H2O aquatics bottle that just says "lotion" or something else? We didn't get anything that said "body butter" at the Poly. I took home a couple bottles of the lotion. It's very thick, as is the conditioner.

Bella, the best Ulta eyeshadow color that I've found is "Cameo". It is the prettiest brown around. princess: I wear it alone all the time.

I was surprised that the Ulta shadows were as good as they are. They are pigmented and really not all that differnt than the MAC.

BTW I did not like the LIquid Keratin leave in conditioner when I posted last night but today I do like my hair so maybe I will keep it.

I really like the Ulta shadows too. I use Bone and Milk Chocolate as my everyday shadows. They are really buttery and smooth, and I barely get any creasing by the end of the day - without a primer. Going to head there later this week to pick up a few more with the great sale.

I like their blush as well. So far I have only tried Girly, but I am going to check out a few more of those too, also on sale for $3.

I know I thought the buy one get one was a great price. Just be careful, the quads are made in China but the singles are made in USA. I still bet they are made by Mac or possibly Stila. I tried to look it up on line but could not figure out how to find out the information. I did not get the blush BUT I did get the quik dri nail polish drier and it is really good. Worked just like the OPI and at 2 dollars a bottle it is a steal.

That's funny because I got some quick dry stuff too. It was an impulse purchase, I hope it works because I didn't see any reviews on MUA. It's a spray, envi, Salon Professional Nail Enamel Dryer. I hate waiting for my nails to dry. I hope it's not some gimmicky do-nothing spray. I'm going to try it tonight.

I'll be expecting a review of these quick nail dryers please. :) I never use them because I figure they will just dry the top coat and I'll end up with smudges.

hmmm... maybe I should spray it on between coats? I do base-color-color-top.

Well so far so good with the x dri from Ulta. I have natural nails and put two coats of OPI nail envy, two coats of color and one coat of drier when I start and then a coat everyday with a coat of some sort of top dri. I have used the Ulta twice so far and it is just as good as the China Glaze, or OPI I had been using at 5 times the price. It is on sale this week for 2.00....that is practically FREE in my world! If you can get a bottle this week while it is 2.00 it is usually 6 a bottle. Supposedly there are only 5 companies that manufacture nail polish for all the cosmetic companies. I do not know if this is true but a friend gave me a bottle of Beauty Cafe polish that cost 18 a bottle and it is no different than the OPI>

No, this is different. The aquatics is nice, but the Spa stuff that I got at the Grand Floridian was much, much nicer. This is from the H2O+ site http://www.h2oplus.com/retail2002/productdetails.aspx?productid=100-00388-000. It is the same stuff, just doesn't have the GF logo on the bottle.

I bought some drying drops at Sally Beauty Supply and they are awesome. I couldn't believe how fast my nails dried when I used them. I did a bottom coat, two coats of color and a top coat and they were pretty much perfectly dry in 15 minutes and not just service dry, but dry the whole way through. Well worth the $5 I spent on it.

The drops are a little different because this stuff adds gloss to your manicure just like a clear top coat would. I have used the drops before. They do are good till the end of the bottle, the top coats I prefer are the gloss ones but they dri out too soon and I never get past half way in the bottle. The good thing about the ULTA is that they are only 2,00 so even if it dries out half waythrough it will not be as much money. BTW I do not like Sally Hansen fast dri topcoat. It discolors any nail polish except Sally Hansen when you use it. I wrote to the company and they said it was formulated to work with their nail polish which I do not like.

What if you pour out half into an old bottle, seal up the first one, and just use half at a time?

I'm having that problem with the eye drops I have to use. I get the biggest bottle because it's cheaper that way, but it starts to get thick & goopy in my eyes as I get halfway down the bottle. :sad2:

I love, love, love this thread. I've been a makeup guru for years.

Here are my best $$$ picks!

OPI nail polish

Revlon lipsticks

Lancome mascara's

MAC - lipglass, eyeshadows, and eye pencils! (CAN't BE BEAT)

Foundation - Laura Mercier or MAC

Handcream - AHAVA - HANDS DOWN! Nothing comes close

Blush (cream) AVON

What do people here use for skin care? I was using Mary Kay Basic #2.

Thanks!
Brunette

Man - those companies sure do know how to cater to a woman's insecurities. Do you have turkey neck? LOL! "I dont know!! *DO* I have turkey neck? I sure as hell don't want to have turkey neck" **tosses box in cart** :rotfl:

Monistat, Prep H & Vibrating Mascara.:laughing: What does the vibrating mascara allege to do, anyways? Do I want to know? If I get a vibrating mascara, can I lose my husband? The Maybelline one would certainly be cheaper..... :rolleyes1

What is that hand cream? I don't think I've heard of it. Tell us more.... :listen:

I love my Nuetrogena Microdermabrasion thing a ma jig. I was walking through Jewel (it's like an Albertson's....doesnt matter...anyways...) and they had Dove Pro Age on clearance for $3. I figured what the hey, and picked it up.

I wish I had picked up more. I havent been able to find it again, and I *really* like it. Nice stuff. :thumbsup2

I don't have a skin care product that I'm loyal to. I jump all over the place. I could see myself using this one however, for a long time.

Ah, CR you're back!

Which Morrocan Oil did you recommend? The thicker one in the jar:

Or the liquid one in the bottle:

11p%2BUi3X8EL._SL500_SL130_.jpg

They are expensive :faint: and I don't want to get the wrong one.

Well, if it were me - both. BUT...

As a deep conditioner - the tub. As an everyday thing to use (which Ive seen a HUGE improvement in my hair) The Jar/Oil.

AND if you dont want to spend money on the tub - I was just at Ulta a few days ago for their cheap liters of shampoo. They had Redken's .... oh boy - mind went blank.... MAN!!! It's a dark purple colored bottles.... pure control, maybe?? Ill look it up and come back....anyways....

That line has a REALLY GOOD deep conditioner and when I saw the price, I was surprised - $15. It's the same size tub as the Morrocan Oil, and really works good.

If they still have the liters on sale - SEXY HAIR CONCEPTS - Healthy Sexy Hair is one of the one's on sale - and that stuff works REALLY good. It has soy protein in it. :thumbsup2

Hi!

Long story short. I was in Nordstrom's, browsing the cosmetic counter, and a sales lady comes over and asks me if I wanted to try the BEST HANDCREAM EVER! I was very skeptical and thought, well, she wanted to do give me a hard sell! LOL! Well, low and behold I tried this hand cream and she was RIGHT! This was the best hand cream I have ever tried!!! EVER! It comes directly from Israel from the DEAD SEA! The hand cream is approximately $16.00 well worth it and can be bought on their website or Nordstroms. Believe in me this is money well spent. Check out their website.

Thanks Cat!
There's a salon a few blocks up from me that sells Redken products. I'm heading over. :)

I finally went to Sephora & got the Too Faced mascara you recommended. I just have to find an afternoon to test it out at home first, with the eye drops I have to use. I want to make sure I don't get raccoon eyes. I hate walking around for a couple hours that way, talking to people and you don't know it. Not the same as a smokey eye look.
