Ah, CR you're back!

Which Morrocan Oil did you recommend? The thicker one in the jar:

Or the liquid one in the bottle:

They are expensive :faint: and I don't want to get the wrong one.

Reminder to to www.cosmeticmagic.com to get it they have good prices, free shipping and kits that may give you both of the items for what you would pay for one. The MO is around 40 a bottle alone but you can get it much cheaper on CM. Also they give you samples (full size) AND if you go to www.retailmenot.com you might find a coupon. I did and it was for 5% which did not seem like a huge amount but better than a sharp stick in the eye. ALSO they do not charge tax if you live in a state like Taxachusetts like I do.

What is that hand cream? I don't think I've heard of it. Tell us more....

*******

Hi!

Long story short. I was in Nordstrom's, browsing the cosmetic counter, and a sales lady comes over and asks me if I wanted to try the BEST HANDCREAM EVER! I was very skeptical and thought, well, she wanted to do give me a hard sell! LOL! Well, low and behold I tried this hand cream and she was RIGHT! This was the best hand cream I have ever tried!!! EVER! It comes directly from Israel from the DEAD SEA! The hand cream is approximately $16.00 well worth it and can be bought on their website or Nordstroms. Believe in me this is money well spent. Check out their website.

OH! OH!! I met the guy that is the owner/inventor for this when the Nordies opened up near me in April this year. He was practically giving his first born child if people would try it(although I do not think he was the type to have a child).

CR et al,

I am now officially lOVING the Liquid Keratin line. The first day I use the defrizz leave in conditioner I did not like it but the next day and now today my hair is fantastic. I got the shampoo and the deep conditioner too which I will try tomorrow. www.liquidkeratin.com I did not get the Liquid Keratin KIt but I am considering it. I wrote to the company and asked if the aftercare products were just for use with the kit and they said they would also add keratin and strengthen the hair sooooooo I ran back to Ulta and got them. The first day I went they were out and the salesgirl told me they could not keep the product in.
OH, BTW I know I have knocked ULTA earlier in this thread and swore I would never go back but they got rid of the useless manager and the girls who work there now are very helpful so I gave them a chance. God knows I need to find another store to fuel my addiction.:rotfl:

What do you guys think of french manicures?

(Hope I don't offend...) I hate them. I think they're so passe', so predictable, so blahhhhhh!

I often will be eyeballing women's hands while we're on a bus at WDW and see nothing but french. French, french, french. It's like an unwritten rule that you go get a french before WDW.

I hate acrylics too. My nails are short, not even to the tips of my fingers....BUT when I got to WDW I get acrylics -SHORT- tip-o-nail short...and they're not allowed to dremmel them, cuz I need them to soak off easy when I get back. I only do it so they don't chip.

This year, I think I'll be using OPI's My Private Jet...fingers and toes.

Long post just to ask about french manicures....lol

CR - I agree about the french manicures. BUT, I have enjoyed french pedis!! They just go with everything. I don't do tips and have short, easily breakable finger nails so usually I just do clear on them.

I bought the kit a few weeks ago just debating to do this before or after i get my hair cut since my hair is FRIED and DISGUSTING!! The after care products is that just the leave in conditioner?

I do not care for FMs either. I have not done acrylics in years and keep my nails natural. Infact my nails are still peeling from the effects of the acrylics. I noticed short nails with dark colors seem to be the trend. YEAH! I must say I love classic red nails in winter but in summer I go for the lighter colors. I must say when I go to wdw I follow my same routine. I touch up each night. I cannot stand a chip even a little one.

Think about acrylic's for the week - week and a half or so, you're there.

They come off really easy when you're home, and in my experience haven't caused any problems for the short amount of time you have them on.

And the big plus-plus is NO CHIPPING! :)

I used to bring my polish, a mini remover, my base coat, my top coat and fix them through out the trip. It was just too much. PIA, y'know? (I know you know, cuz you sit and do it, too! :lmao: Watching "Friends" or "Nancy Grace" doing my nails while everyone else gets to konk out!)

Well I would do it after I got my hair cut. I just got off the phone with my friend and we were actually discussing this. She said she saw someone get it done in the salon and it seemed like a lot of work. I watched the video on the Liquid Keratin website and it did not seem like that much work to me. The hairdresser told my friend that the more horrible the condition of your hair the better the keratin works. If your hair is that bad then it will work but then you have to figure it would be easier to do if you had shorter hair. Did you see the video? Check it out on the website. The after care products are the shampoo, deep conditioner(use one a week ) and leave in conditioner and the sealer. I did not get the sealer because to me it had dimethicone in it if I am not mistaken and that is one of the main ingredients in Morrocan Oil and I just figured it was most likely the same thing. I will double check the ingredients next time on that one. I think getting the kit is a good deal but I am not sure how much of the after care products are in it.Also, the kit is supposed to be good for 3 applications (3 months) which is not all that bad if you ask me. I saw that they sell it on Beauty.com and there is a 10.00 coupon with free shipping so if you like it let me know and I might take the plunge for the kit.

LOL! I will think about it but if I use a light color it is not a big deal. I just hate nail salons. I am not all that confident in the cleanliness of the ones around here.

I don't like french manicures either. It used to be that french manicures were saved for special occasions. Now it just seems like tired old fad. My nails must be short because I have to wear surgical gloves at work. I like my short, barely past my fingertips, fingernails with colors. Lots and lots of different colors!

Let's see, do I dare count? :scared:

I have my OPI case right at my feet? :scared1:

Goodness, 20 bottles of OPI color. That does not include the bottle of white my mother gave me "for when I do a french mani" It sits untouched. It also doesn't count my three bottles of base and two bottles of top coat.

You know, I may try this. I have to admit, my nails go naked at Disney. Fingers and toes. I was too tired at night or too busy to even keep up with it. I can...not...STAND chips. :headache: I'd rather have nothing on them.

On another note, I saw the Ulta sale on hair products. I'm using Redkin "Blond Glam" line right now and although I like it, I'm missing the volume I got from Amplify. I want to pick up some Amplify xl this weekend for my color treated hair. I want to try the Amplify root lifter too. Styling products are on sale too. Buy two get one free.

I just counted my polish and 54 bottles of color (reds, pinks) I did not count the treaments. Mine are not all OPI some are MAC, some are Essie, China Glaze , Beauty Cafe and Lipman. In all fairness my friend who loves to buy but never uses gave me some of them like the Beauty Cafe(18 a bottle I don't think so). I also have an industrial size China Glaze quick dri top coat. This is what happens when you buy your product on the internet and want to buy a lot to off set the shipping. LOL
HEY anyone want to count lip gloss and lip stick??Seriously this could be fun.

Get the root lifter and try it with Blonde Glam. I loooove me some Blonde Glam (that's what I'm using right now, too) Smell's yummifull!!! :goodvibes

OH man.... .... I'm in. I'll post it tomorrow. :sad2: :upsidedow

Wanna count it all? Shadows and blushes too?

My nail polishes - that was a huge fetish of mine for a long time. I got rid of a good 20 or so of them, recently. But still have a buttload. Ill count those, too.

Excellent idea I love this. HOWEVER in counting we do not estimate what we have spent it will be too depressing. I am doing lipstick/gloss first

CR,

I counted the lipgloss/stick...31 less than I estimated but I threw a bunch away too. HOWEVER in going through my makeup case I found three more nail polish that puts me up to 57(not counting treaments because to me those are a necessity). I am not as big on lipstick/gloss.

Question about shadow. If we have a multi shadow kit you know like a quad or bigger do we count each color or just the kit as one. I think counting each color is the best route because each color means potential usage(notice how I say potential usage because I KNOW I am never going to use them all :rotfl::rotfl:all).:rotfl:

Eye shadow will take me much longer..so I will do that later.

Hi! Does anyone have any skin care recommendation? Or a good mask or eye cream? I'm currently using Mary Kay basic #2 skin care, which I really really like, but if something is better I'm willing to try it out. I have a few forehead lines I would like to get rid of too! Any suggestions?

P.S. I do like the french manicure but I don't like the white white tips. I like the more natural looking tips. What nail colors are you using for summer? I also like creamy beiges and pinks.

Thanks!

I used Mary Kay for YEARS because my MIL sold it. She stopped and I just recently branched out. I loved my Mary Kay, so it has been a really big deal that I'm using other stuff now. I have tried a few different brands so far and my skin isn't really any better or worse. So I think the Mary Kay was good, but it's fun to try something else after all those years.

Girls who are counting stuff: I have 18 lip glosses. I'll count nail polish tonight when I get home. I don't have a ton of those because I have my nails done every two weeks, so mine are only for my toes. For some reason I don't like it when other people touch my toes.

What are some of your FAV recommendations regarding cosmetics/skincare?

Dec5girl-

Have you tried "pink cosmetics"? I think that's the name. Anyway they offer mary kay products up to 60 percent off.

I hate 'em (however, I'm also one of those snooty people with great nails who look down on acrylic wearers). However, I love doing my nail tips in a color-for the 4th I had China Glaze heart of Africa (red), tipped with an old Jane dup of ciel de nuit (navy with silver sparkles-I forgot how much I loved this color).
Is anyone else hopelessly bad at nail art? I picked up the brush thing polish at Sally's, and tried it to do these tiger stripes I saw on youtube...it looked like HotTopic vomited in a Tiffany's box (my base was China Glaze "For Audrey").

I've never tried "pink cosmetics".

Right now my favs generally are things that come from this thread. These fabulous girls introduced me to Sephora and I love to shop there both online and in the store. You can ask the Sephora girls lots of questions and they are great help.

I recently discovered Bare Minerals. I think I am in the minority with that. Most of the girls here like Everyday Minerals. I ordered two sets of samples from EM and I couldn't figure out my color. I ordered BM recently and I think it looks great. I also ordered a set of their skin care which just came yesterday so it's too soon to tell you what I think about that yet.

Read the first post on this thread. Cat gave some great links to some of the hot topics so you can find them faster.
