I tried ordering the simply chic set (what a great deal!) and I got a message saying they were unable to deliver to my address. :confused3

OMG I go away for a couple weeks and we're talking about putting Monistat on our faces?! :rotfl:

I miss talking with you gals--just life got really, really crazy. And I've been spending a lot of time at Epcot. :goodvibes
.

Yes - Monistat-O-Rama! You must try it! :goodvibes

Glad youre back! And I would have choosen EPCOT over you guys, too. Sorry.

CR, I never said THANK YOU for the recommendation of NARS "Outlaw" blush. I was scared to use it when I looked at it in the pan. But it's my favorite of all four that I have (Outlaw, Sin, Angelika, and "O" ). A little goes a loooonnnnng way. I want to try a cream blush for summer next. Any suggestions?

I know - I thought the SAME thing when the saleslady suggested it last year. I was like "nahhhhhh" and she goes "I have it on" her her cheeks were so pretty and rosey and perfect - so I said "Okay"

It last a nice long time, and a little a long way is hitting the nail on the head. I really like it. Perfect color, IMO.

I dont use cream blush. I really dont know.

I ended feeling like I looked pretty good all day. I didn't reapply any makeup and I felt that it was still on at time to wash face for bed.

I'm bad! I use the tanning bed!

Awesome! I get the same results. NOW YOU KNOW you were NOT being punked!!!! ;)

And I'm bad too. I go tanning bed, as well. :)

YAY! Good!!! :yay:

Oh boy! I am in trouble since I have found this thread.

I went shopping for some new fragrances, and bought 3: pink sugar, Escada's ocean lounge, and DKNY be delicious. Love them! I have already had complements while wearing the pink sugar.

I also went out in search of the Monistat. I finally found it at Wal-mart. I have never used a foundation primer before, and so far I am pretty inpressed! My only question is, how thick a coat do you need to apply? Can you put it on too thick?

I have to go read some more pages now. Thanks everyone!

Gretchen

This stuff is incredible. Not only does my make-up stay on ALL day and looks fresh, but I'm able to deduct this stuff off my Flexible Spending Account.

WooHoo.

My DH didn't trust you guys he said...Are you sure your face isn't going to turn green? I should have learned there are some things men shouldn't be told.

I dont know if it could be too thick....anyone know? I use about a small lima bean size for my whole face. Today I squeezed out too much....lemme look at my self..... no, it looks okay. It took longer to smear in, though.

TELL ME ABOUT Ocean Lounge!! I love Escada!!! :lovestruc

Anybody use a bronzer powder on their face? Any suggestions for good ones I could try?

Ive mentioned earlier - I really like Too Faced's Snow Bunny & Pink Leopard - however both of them contain a sheen I like.

Some women dont like that, some do.

I get home to my 4 yr old having put wter in 3 of my BE foundations - any way to save them?

I get home to my 4 yr old having put wter in 3 of my BE foundations - any way to save them?

I don't have an answer for you, but wow! You may :headache: now but years from now you will :lmao: . My mom loves BE makeup, that's how I discovered Buxom Lips, she got one with her order once and gave it to me. She must have twenty little BE bottles in the bathroom. Once I went in and found my dd8 had submerged each little jar in the sink :scared: I can't imagine what it would have cost me to replace them all. Thank heavens the jars are water tight.

 I hope your's can be saved.

I just got back from the mall. Regis had a clearance table of goodies for your hair. I got a can of Redkin "Guts" for 60% off and Redkin Blonde Glam "Crystal Flash" for 50% off. Both bottles for $12.50 :woohoo: . I can't wait to try it out tomorrow.

I tried the brown Mac Fluidline eye liner today and I must say that I like it. It is almost like putting the inside of a pencil on with a brush. It looks much more like a pencil line than the BE with wear ever does. More "natural" looking too. I did get a little more "smudge" under my eye, but not nearly as much as I did with a regular pencil. Can't wait to try the Waveline color tomorrow. Thanks for recommending this liner!!

Also, tried Mac Fibre Lash mascara today too! I actually like it. It did not clump on my lashes (even the little ones in the corner that you use more of the tip of the brush on were clump free). I was able to go slow and kind of hold the lash in the curled up position longer and I think it did help to curl them up. I must say that I forgot how great your eyes can look with good mascara on them. :cool1: Really opens them up.

Hey makeup friends! Can I get some advice?

1st - I ordered the everyday minerals sample and can't wait to try it out!

2nd - I've decided I need brushes. I have always just used whatever the compact came with  . The sample kit I ordered doesn't have brushes it in, does it? I went to Ulta today and there are tons of brushes at all price points. I of course want to spend as little as possible but get a great product  Ulta has their brand brushes for $10-$20, B1G1 free. Any thoughts on those? And of course every makeup line from Revlon up have them. What brand would you suggest? What brushes do YOU use and why?

3rd - Before my hair appt, I played with makeup at Ulta but really don't know what I'm doing with some of the products. They have hosting a spring beauty event where you can make an appt for a makeover/demo on a brand - out of these brands, which would you suggest to have one done? I thought I'd do at least one and learn how to apply my own makeup and really check out some higher end stuff that I've never used before (these demos may help me choose brushes, too, but I'd love personal exps!)

bareMinerals
Dearmalogica
Smashbox
Murad
Too Faced
Lorac
Stila
Kinerase
NeoStrata
PurMinerals
Bourjois
Napoleon Perdis
Amazing Cosmetics
Studio Gear
Urban Decay
Fusion Beauty
Anastastia
Pop Beauty
Elizabeth Arden

Thanks all!

Ay yi yi!!! I dont know. What if you wrote to them? Maybe they'd be able to even replace them - who knows, y'know?

I use a slew of different brands.

Ive heard a lot of good things about that Sonia brand from Target - and theyre cheap - however Ive never used them.

What kind of brushes are you needing?

Ive never had a 'makeover' but I bolded the companies that I *would* get one from, if I did.

I personally LOVE Too Faced - and think Stila would be a good one to do, too.

I have a few of the Sonia Kashuk brushes from Target--they are pretty good for the price. But I don't use them very often--I got them for specialty purposes. The ones I use everyday are either from MAC or Sephora.

MAC used to have a nice little set--I got one before they sold out, years ago--it had 5 short-handled brushes in a travel case. I don't think it was much more than $50, and they are WONDERFUL and have lasted a long time with good care.

Thanks, CR, for the make up tips!

I'll check out the Sonia ones at Target.

I got my everyday minerals samples today :cool1: They were just coming from Austin so they got here quick. Now I have no idea what to do with them (esp since I have no brushes  ) but they are here!

OMG! I just realized, in looking back at the Monistat conversation...I HAVE SOME OF THAT ALREADY!!!!! I bought it for, er, other reasons. :rolleyes1 Well, Florida is a sweaty, humid place while walking around WDW in the summer!!!!

So now I'm going to find my almost-new tube and slap some on my face! And if it's better than my uber-pricey tube of MAC mattifier, I'm headed to Target to stockpile.

Report on your mineral makeup and how you like it--that's something I just can't bring myself to try yet--I'm a traditionalist, I love my liquid and stick foundations. I do have a couple of the MAC mineral shadows and the bronzer though. I'm always scared it's going to take forever to do in the morning, and I am NOT a morning person. I have daily my makeup routine down to 5 minutes and it still looks great, but if I change, it will throw off my system!

I have a concealer Sonia Kashuk brush from Target. The quality is really good. I only have super cheap brushes to compare it to though. I have a metal lash comb from Sonia Kashuk too. It's a travel size one that folds over swiss army knife style. Metal lash combs beat plastic combs out of the water. They are great!

Stay away from the cheap Ulta brand brushes; spend a little more and get the ones from the Ulta "professional" line. I got a little free makeup bag full of Ulta makeup and brushes when I bought some Ulta brand mu a few weeks ago. Every time I use those brushes I get little black brush hairs all over my face. :headache: But they were free, so I can't complain too much. If I had paid money for them, they would be going back. I do have on Ulta professional brand eyeshadow brush. It's an excellant brush.

The most beautiful looking brushes I have ever seen are from Bobbi Brown. The handle is white and looks like (but is obviously faux) ivory. And the softest brushes I have ever felt (and I rub my fingers over them ALL) are Too Faced "Teddy Bear Hairs" :cloud9: But I don't actually own any of those brushes to tell you how they perform. I'm sort of shopping for good brushes now myself, looking for ones I like and that is what I have found so far.

I got the Ulta mailer today and I was looking at the different lines that offer advice and makeovers and I am leaning towards a Smashbox consult. I love my Softlights highlighting powder and they are offering a Softlights in "Dune" freebie with purchase. It looks like a bronzer. I want to try that. :cutie:

we actually have a BE store now! I have always ordered from Sephora! Dh better cough up some $$ and let me shop tonight (he was on duty when the water in the jars happened!)
