Back from Krogers; I found it right away. It was tucked in a corner. There were 3 tubes but they were $7! I passed since it was expensive. It's hard to believe I considered buying this stuff for $50 at the makeup counter. I have the Revlon primer, Too Faced Shadow insurance for my eyelids, and my foundation has dymethicone in it already so I don't need fourth kind of primer. It's not like it's mascara or anything

Nope, I haven't but I will now :thumbsup2 Am I going to be able to figure out how to use it? I've heard mineral makeup is hard to use :confused3

I've never been a foundation wearer. Hate it! But I gave the EM a try with their samples and ended up buying one of their brushes -- must get! It's $10 and such a nice little makeup brush! Soft as silk.

I only ever buy the samples. I still don't wear foundation all that much, so the samples last me a couple of months. If I can put it on, anybody can. :thumbsup2

Have I told you guys today, that I love you:love:

Let me count the ways....

My hair thin & sad before...is now much fuller & awesome thanks to Matrix Root lifter

My eyeliner is not smudgey & awful thanks to a smudge pot (I'm still learning though...it's getting better)

My lupus red face is much less noticible...thanks to EM green tint stuff

My face feels FANTASTIC and my makeup stays put all day - thanks to monistat

& this morning...I heated my eyelash curler....& I actually HAVE LASHES!!! HOLY CRUD! It really made a difference...they curled!

ok...so now... I leave for WDW tomorrow (yea me!) but I need a light face bronzer...I did go get sprayed at LA Tan & i loved it...but I'll be gone for 14 days...so I'll need a boost...What do you guys like?

Isn't the matrix root lifter amazing??? I tried the smudge pots too and love it - I get the same look I was getting by first putting on pencil liner then going over it with shadow, but I can do it in one step now. I think it's fun to put on, too! :) The only thing I don't like about it is that it dries quickly and you have to work fast because once that stuff is on, it's not coming off!

I'm trying my monistat experiement today and so far there is no difference between the monistat side and my regular primer. But even if I see no difference as the day wears on, it is well worth it just for the lower price.

My DD wants me to do her makeup for the prom instead of having it done at the mall. I'm excited - she NEVER wears make-up (silly girl!) so this is going to be fun. Can you imagine her reaction, though, when I bring out the tube of monistat - 'you're going to put WHAT on my face???!' :lmao:

I've always been a CoverGirl person - what my momma always wore - but in previous years, I've noticed my skin is not as smooth and clear as in the past and I wonder if a better foundation/power combo would help.

I've mentioned this on here before, but you need to try a retinol cream - I like Roc's (you can get it at Walgreen's - it's about $20. It makes your skin silky smooth and will even out your skin tone and get rid of that 'dull' look that we start to get around 30. And - I know this is hard to believe, but it totally eradicated a scar I had on my cheek (it does come back if I stop using it, though). My skin looks better now than it did when I was in my 20's - well except for the sagging cheeks.

Just don't let your DH be in on that conversation. All of our husbands are going to think we have lost our minds!!!

I dont think it's hard. It really isnt.... Like XENA mentioned - watch a YouTube video. :)

Awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome, awesome!!!!!

I like TooFaced's bronzers - but not everyone likes them. They have a sheen - some like sheen, some don't. I do.

You could hold off, and buy one from France's Guerlain in Epcot. They have a WONDERFUL bronzer.

ALSO - I think it's Target, but it might be Wal Mart - has travel size Jergen's Natural Glow (that self tanner - that isnt TOO orange all at once)

Oh how fun!!! Just don't let her see the tube!

I guess my dh isn't like you guys dh's. I told mine what I was going to do he just said ok and walked off

Perfect Cat! Give me another reason to shop in Epcot!!!!!! that's a no brainer for me!

They also have a realllly nice lipstick collection (KissKiss Maxi Shine) - that are all sheer colors, with lots of shine. Like lipgloss in a stick. I have 2 of those: Nude and Chocolate. I think the Lychee shine would look good on your skin.

The bronzer even comes in those little ball meteorite things that I think are SO fun!

I also have an Eyeshadow called "Night Fever" - check it out when youre there... it's such a cool brown/grey color. Love it.

BTW aimeedyan I love your dogs! I have two myself. One is a Jack Russell and one is a Chihuahua. What are yours?

I have a Shih Tzu, Miniature Schnauzer, and Mutt - plus a foster pup that I yanked from a shelter last week. He had 3 hours before they were going to put him down and I couldn't resist his cute face. He's a small mutt, should be around 23 pounds when I get weight on him. I have a houseful!

I second that- I LOVE my Everyday Minerals makeup!! I read about it here on the DIS about 2 1/2 years ago on a thread about great makeup for the parks. It took a little while to find the perfect color foundation for me, but once I got that right, it was awesome. I love their blushes and eye shadows, too. I don't have a huge range of makeup lines- I tend to find one I like and get the whole assortment of what they have. I have been happy with just about everything EM sells (their lip glosses are a little too subtle and natural looking for me). The prices are great, and I really love the products.

Try getting the free samples- you can get as many kits as you like (although they need to be separate orders) to find the perfect color match. Another tip that CR mentioned earlier in the thread- the written descriptions of the colors are better than the photos.

Watch the Bare Minerals infomercial, or there is another one, Sheer Cover I think. Just copy what they do with any mineral makeup. It's easy!

Thanks! :goodvibes

Ooh, thanks for the tip. I'll have to pick some up.

Another girlfriend of mine reported back (via email) to me. Her first Monistat Face day:

I'm pretty flippin amazed.... my skin really isn't gummy or shiny. maybe a teenie smidge on my nose. I'd have to say it's better than Smashbox.

The stock markets arent doing well - but you know what we all need to buy stock in, right? :rolleyes1 ;)

WE HAVE A MOLE!!!

Spreading the word about the Monistat!!!

I wonder if she'll come clean on her own, or if I'll have to out her!!!   ;)

I'm wondering if any of you have tried Latisse? It's a prescription medication for glaucoma that has recently been approved by the FDA to grow longer, thicker eyelashes. I'm thinking of asking my Dr. for a prescription for this. Any experiences with this or am I going to have to be the guinea pig on this one?

Newbie here to this thread. The mole led me here and now I'm off to CVS and Walgreens to find Monistat!!

Ok, sounds like I need this. A question, does this Roc cause your face to look sunburned when you first use it, kind of like a peel would ( at least that is what I heard a peel does)? Do you use this just at night? Thanks!

It works!

I saw an ad for this at the Plastic Surgeon's office, where I am doing my clinicals. The girl that works there said that it was for glaucoma, and some woman took it, put it in a different bottle and marketed it for eyelashes. The drug company sued her, and is now marketing it for eyelashes. The girl I worked with said that she used it and her eyelashes were crazy long. Now she's excited to get an Rx for Latisse and start it again. It takes four weeks to see results.

I helped with a procedure (face lift, so we were looking at her face a lot) on a lady who had glaucoma and was taking Latisse. We were amazed at her eyelashes! Even her lower lashes were insane!

I want to try Latisse too. My dad was diagnosed with "borderline glaucoma" and had to take meds for it, but it was so slight, they took him off the meds. I wonder if that's enough for me to be "genetically predisposed" or something to qualify for a prescription.

I'm so new at the Dr's office, plus I'm only a student so I feel funny asking, but man, I want that stuff!
