On the DL calendar, there's "The Magic, The Memories, and You!" listed under shows. What's this?

Just a guess. They will be projecting images or video that guests have provided for the "Let the Memories Begin" theme, onto Small World.

I have heard about something similiar happening on the castle, though at WDW not DLR. I'm not sure why it's not showing at the castle in DL.

@skiingfast, you're so resourceful! :worship: thanks for the explanation!

okay, so i'm tempted to watch the posted videos, but then i do still want some surprises. i guess i'll just have to find other things to occupy my time like reading this board!

This show look pretty promising, and I'm going to bet much better on Small World than this video from the far side of the hub in WDW's MK.

Article has an explanation. I think the coolest thing is the possibility of seeing your family photo during the day projected during the show that night.

Thx for the link Matt, I'll say the same thing that the video projection on IASW will be way better than the MK.

I couldn't tell much from that video. How did they get the pix? From those submitted or from photographers in the park. We went september 09... My daughter was featured in an add at our local movie theater and she loves seeing it so this would be near for her.

In the article it says "As many as 500 images shot that day will project onto the castle each night the show is presented, producers estimate. Disney PhotoPass photographers will capture guests creating new memories as they “smile for the castle.”"

So I think that will be pretty cool if you saw yourself in the show. If you think of the show as having 500 images of 4 guests each. On a big day with 50,000 guest you might have a 1 in 25 shot of your pic making it in the show. That's not bad odds. I'll be working extra hard to pose for the Photopass Photographers.

As far as the limited clarity in the video I'm guessing that where this video was taken from is probably 2 or 3 times further back then we will be viewing our show in Small World Plaza. Granted the MK castle is a lot taller than Small World so it might be a little easier to see looking up above the person in front of you.

Just remember in DL they developed a system to put shows like this on Small World's facade. In the MK they figured out how to take that show and adapt it onto thier castle. So it might look more natural on ITASW than on the castle.

how exciting!!!!! Im moble right.now ill check the video tomorrow. Tia

I just saw the video from WDW posted on the podcast forum. I had no idea this was coming out or even what the new "theme" of the year was. It seems like not a big deal was made out of it like in the past. Or maybe I just missed it. I'm sure they are not using our castle because it is smaller. Well, there goes my "secret" spot for watching the fireworks up by IASW. :sad2: :rotfl2:

Do you think there will be CMs snapping candids throughout the park? I just don't understand how they get all those photos, can't just be photopass pictures.

It reminds me of Seinfeld where George is caught at the US Open eating a sundae. I'm just afraid of seeing a picture of me stuffing my face! :rotfl:

I thought WDW did a good job of the projections and the special lighting effects on the castle. It kind of reminded me of World of Color for just a few seconds when they did the Buzz Lightyear scene and the Pirates part (of course without the water). The photos were ok but the lighting effects were pretty good in my opinion. Can't wait to see DL's version. Wondering if it will be the same with the exception of the photos. Also thought it was funny when Walt popped in and said "To all who come to this happy place welcome" and then it stopped....Funny because the next line is "Disneyland is your land!".

You'd be surprised just how many pictures are taken by Disney's PhotoPass service in a single-day.

But, assuming the production is the same as here in Florida, there will also be some images and video taken from those submitted to the Let the Memories Begin mini-site on DisneyParks.com/memories.

I'm sure they take thousands of Photopass in a day. I just think it would be boring to present a bunch of posed photos. I'm sure they are adding candids to spice it up a bit.

Have you seen the memories tv commercials? I have the same thoughs about watching fireworks from Small World. Super crowds are going to show up and some will return forever when they fin out they can see both shows from there.

I'm sure it will all be photopass photos, but I wonder if they will get permission from the guests? Though probably in the fine print it say the photos are already the property of Disney and they can release them to be viewed elsewhere.

It did remind me a bit of RDCT and WoC, neither of which they have in WDW and they could use it to make a better night time show than thier wishes. I wonder how if they will use the same effects and apply it on Small World. Things like falling panels instead of bricks.

I did think the end was pretty sudden I am hoping they finish the sentence in DL.

I have little doubt that all the video clips are from the Memories, but I think the photos will either be old grainy ones or from the day of the show. But am curious if they will want photos from a rainy day?

Having uses photo pass, I know that I got about 25 a day in DL for me and in WDW amost 100 per day. That was just on my card, there must be hundreds more cards being used just like me.

Here is a better video, close to the castle. I will definitely be looking forward to seeing what they come up with for IASW.

LOVED THE Video.. I watched it with no sound and only enough to get the idea.. don't want to ruin it! I'm SO excited for this!!

There are a lot of photopass pictures that get taken.. we had probably 10-20 a day done
