I have a question with the recent announcement by <b>"Take a Hike" Mike </b> (sorry but that is my name for him and a suggestion for him as well) and the Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida Studios closing will they keep this attraction open? I do not think that walking through an attraction looking at empty cubes and rooms where one of the best animation departments worked would be a big draw. Since the artist are being let go, who will do the demo at the end?

Just wondering if anyone else thought about this or has any answers?

I seriously doubt they would keep it open, unless they maybe put a computer or maybe some animatronics there to look at where the animators cubes are now ...
Not only is it a shame that they're diminishing their animation group, putting 260 people out of jobs and destroying a wonderful profession (not everything can be or should be done on PC's) but they're also at the same time most likely taking yet another attraction away from a theme park that is already lacking.
I really don't understand where this company is going; sure Nemo made $300M+ in theaters using CG animation, but if I recall, the Toy Story movies and Monsters Inc. did pretty darn well too and they weren't animated at all, but done by Pixar, and they're probably not even re-upping their contract with Pixar after this year's movie with the superheroes (can't remember the title).
I was truly disgusted when I saw the news today. It's a real shame that apparently a true art form can be so easily replaced by a computer. Do you think this is where Walt was going when he created the Carousel of Progress?

I've heard they just re-did the tour adding more things that distract from the fact that there is no longer a studio there (a new show, an Amination Acadamy area like at DisneyQuest, maybe a few other things). I'm guessing they'll keep it open and just change it to be more like the Disney Animation exhibit they have at DCA.
