Does anyone know if she has to do any sea trials? I'm wondering since she got some sort of engine work if that means she has to do sea trials before heading over? Tonka's Skipper? Truck1? Or any other maritime experienced person?

She will get fuel in Funchal, as it's less expensive than mainland Europe. We refueled there after the Eastbound crossing in May.
Hi Silver, I will have to give you a BIG..........maybe........, but not likely! Sea trials are usually only done on new builds or a massive rebuild to test systems and especially see that the vessel operates(IE speed) and maneuvers to design requirements. One famous cruise ship problem was back in the 60's when the QEII was on trials and she had major vibration issues, required quite a bit of redesign and alterations. While the Magic, I am sure had quite a bit of machinery and engine work done I would expect they would be watching her closely as she sails and in a worse case, she would have to return, but its not likely. The Bottom line, is nothing is impossible in the maritime world, but sea trials are unlikely. Enjoy your cruises everyone!AKK
Someone on Twitter told my hubby.
All aboard was 2am (8pm eastern). Then it was sail away time!!!
Do you know when the Magic is schedule to arrive in Miami? I will be in Miami for a long weekend, Oct 17-20 and hope to get a glimpse of her.
Well, she sails 10/20, so you can see her that morning.
I read on one thread some time back that it was due in on the 18th, but I don't have any facts to back that up, just what I read on the DIS.
Arriving in Funchal ~
