We just booked this awesome cruise. Might be a wee bit later than most of you guys did :rotfl:

This will be our second cruise. We did the 8-Night Mexican Riviera Holiday Cruise back in 2011, when we were relocating from Australia back to Germany, because we didn't want to spend that XMas with family :lmao:

This will be the first big vacation for us as a family of four. I can't imagine, that DS2 will be 1 year old and probably starting to walk, when the WBTA commences. It's way to go (from the perspective of a 4 month old ;) )

Please add us to the roll call:

NarrabeenSteph Stephanie, DH Steffen, DS Joshua (4), DS Noah (1)

Cheers!

Welcome to the WBTA new cruisers!:cheer2:

Any idea when the port adventures will be posted on the DCL site?

My TA thinks that in Puerto Rico Disney will offer airport transfers, anyone know if that's the case?

We got some of our seat selections done. I feel like there is so much more to do.

We've booked transfers to airport with Disney too, paid about £25 (40 dollars?). Probably an expensive way of doing it, but we wanted a 'relaxed' end to our cruise. We'll use the special airport buses in Barcelona though, arriving day before cruise. :goodvibes

Now our plans are final and all flights are booked: Not only are we going to be on this Transatlantic, but also staying on for the 7-night Southern Caribbean afterwards. So very happy! :yay:

Hello Everyone -

Just discovered the wonderful board this morning and knew I needed to join. Please take it easy on me as this is my first post. Apologize in advance if I break any etiquette rules.

As a bit of introduction -

Me - Age (45), United States Navy Civilian for almost 20 years. I also moonlight as a Pro Photographer (Weddings, Events, General Portrait) and my hobbies include Porsche cars, car racing, and vintage car restoration. I also love to travel and do it extensively for work as well as pleasure.

Wife - Age (Beautifully youthful looking, but classified), works as a Contracts Admin/Manager for a Los Angeles based Health Care Provider. She loves Body Combat, CX Works, Zumba, Soap Operas, Sushi, Pho, and Sleeping.

We have both sailed Disney before and Disneyland more times than we can count. We recently stayed at the park at both the Disneyland Hotel as well as the Grand Californian. Loved it.

Why We are here -

I booked the 2014 WBTA cruise on the Disney Magic yesterday. I am extremely excited about this trip! We were going to do the EBTA cruise a few years ago for our honeymoon, but I had already planned an extensive trip to Bali/Kuala Lumpur/Sydney and didn't want to change course on what turned out to be an amazing trip. I knew though that a repositioning cruise was something we'd attempt in the future :)

So once I got the cruise booked, I set off today to arrange hotels and airfare. Our Itinerary is as follows:

31 August - LAX to Munich via Charlotte, NC. - First Class Domestic on US Air/Business Class on Lufthansa A340-600. I love A340-600's!!

1 Sept - Munich to Florence, Italy First Class on Lufthansa A321 and a Puddle Jumper via Frankfurt thrown in to finish what will be a long 24 hours of travel from the West Coast.

1 Sept - 4 Sept - Renaissance Tuscany il Ciocco Resort and Spa. Many years since I've been to Florence. Rest, get over the Jet Lag, and adjust to 9 time zones. Enough time for Shopping Shopping Shopping.

4 Sept - Florence to Barcelona via Zurich on Swiss. Puddle Jumper followed by First Class on Swiss A320.

4 Sept - 6 Sept - Renaissance Barcelona Hotel.

6 Sept - Well, you know where we'll be at that point. Stateroom not provided yet though.

I plan to start from the beginning of the thread :surfweb: and work my way forward to both learn and catch up on the plans for the cruise. I'm not entirely sure what events/activities the both of us will do, but I'm sure as I get a better idea on what is planned I'll reach out and ask.

Looking forward to being a useful contributor and excited to meet many of you next September.

David

Hello to Sydney! Where about are you? We used to live in Canada Bay/Inner West before we moved up to Narrabeen/Northern Beaches. Now we are back to Germany, where we are missing the surf and the sun :rolleyes1

...and my hobbies include Porsche cars, car racing, and vintage car restoration. I also love to travel and do it extensively for work as well as pleasure.

Hi David, my hubby Steffen is working for Porsche in Stuttgart. You two probably will have a lot to talk about :goodvibes

We also booked our flights yesterday! :cool1:
Stuttgart/Germany to Barcelona will be a short one. Longhaul back with Condor from San Juan to Frankfurt will be an adventure for our two boys (or me, not sure about that yet :rotfl: )
Still looking for a hotel in Barcelona, we fly in the night before the cruise. Any suggestions?

Thanks much, glad to be here! I am a 1 Million Miler (1K) with United Airlines and a Lifetime Platinum with Marriott, so booking travel for me is second nature. Early booking is key - especially if you are using award miles/points. It allows for revisions to the trip as availability changes (and it does!) while having a 'backup' itinerary that is still feasible. I am very fortunate that I don't pay change fees so I can book/cancel/change as often as I want.
