The MAGIC is Back!!! - 6th Sept 2014 WBTA - Come & join the fun! - PART 2

Our Candy Swap group has 40 participants. Considering everything you need to pack, candy for 40 people can be some extra luggage weight.
Unless I hear otherwise from you members, can we consider dividing into 2 smaller groups? Please send some feedback along. Thanks. Caroline :thumbsup2

I would be happy if spilt 2 smaller group...

I added one player from each host stateroom to the list. If the hosts for each room do not wish to participate in the Poker Run, but only wish to attend the Cabin Crawl, please let me know.

Thank you! Please keep me on the poker run list. (I'm down for back up of secret porthole room). I also like the idea to plan so that the room hosts can see the other rooms too.

Re pirate clothes - my family isn't really into it, but I do feel like we'll be missing out if we don't join in (it's our first cruise). Also we're going to MNSSHP after the cruise, so we could re-use our pirate clothes if they're cool enough for the FL heat!

I'll need to remember about the pirate night buffet. I love turkey legs! :)

CHANGE OF PORT - still awaiting an email reply from Disney but have just gone into the DCL web site and on our reservation driving directions and port arrival guide. The port has been changed to Pan American but the driving directions will still take you to Old San Juan Pier 4.....how incompetent is that. I am shocked at how they can't do this simple thing.

no pirate for us - I *hope* that's the night we'll do Palo. Although I like the Pirate menu well enough, its the Hoopla I can't stand.

We're fine with having the group split. As much as we love candy, it does end up taking up a lot of space! (but if you don't split the group, we're ok with that, too :goodvibes )

I am curious about everyone's plan for pirate night;
Full Pirate - complete pirate costume
Semi Pirate - pirate themed tshirt
No Pirate - not dressing up in any pirate themed attire

Originally I was just going to bring along a pirate themed tshirt to save on luggage space but I am reconsidering and thinking I want to go full pirate.
Me...no pirate; DH...t-shirt; DD...full pirate (wench). We cover all the bases :thumbsup2

I book Palo dinner for Pirate night and I have a chiffon dress that has a subtle graffiti skull pattern on it. That's as Piratey as I'm getting on this cruise.

No pirate for us. We are going to Palo that night. We do enjoy the fireworks though.

Sounds like we are around 50:50 with those doing pirate night and those going to Palo lol!

OK for someone that never makes it to the buffett as always on late dining, what have I been missing out on (other than turkey legs)? Usually I have to rush from dinner up to top deck to watch the fireworks so don't get to see anything on the buffett.

DCL seem to take ages with everything!

Wanted to let everyone know that Southwest is having a sale and since they give you a credit back when the price goes down, if you have already booked you might want to see if you can save some money, or if you haven't booked look into the prices.

We are on the 2:35 flight from San Juan to Raleigh via Orlando. We booked our tickets from on opening day using points and the price has gone down 1250 points per person (not sure how much in dollars). They just gave me a credit back in points AND they let me officially change my flight to reflect I am actually getting off at the stopover in Orlando. and not going onto Raleigh. This is good because I was going to have to leave my checked bags to go onto Raleigh (with my mom) but now I can take everything with us when we get off in Orlando and don't have to worry so much about what I pack in what suitcase.

Oh, and she also confirmed that they recommend 3 hours early arrival for flights from SJU. I asked her if this is normal and she said no, they specifically request that for SJU because of long lines at security. You can check luggage up to 4 hours ahead of time.

I know some one previously posted about a company that takes you on a tour and then to the airport, but I couldn't find that post. If anyone is doing that please let me know, I really don't want to sit around the airport for 5 or 6 hours so I am definitely considering this.

I wonder if this is for all airlines, or just Southwest?

Thanks GatormominNC...I checked our flights with Southwest and at least the flight from Kansas City to Chicago went down $36.00 for each of us...so that was quite a reduction. The flight back though from San Juan is still the same...who knows maybe it will come down some too by then, but regardless I'm grateful!

Hi this was me! i book with puerto rico cruise excursions.
they will pick us up in pan american pier ( just checked!) do the tour and then droop us with luggage at the airport at 1 pm. i moved my flight to 4 pm so this gave us time of 3 hours prior boarding, for a local flight i think it is ok.
it costs 40U$ each adult and U$ 28 for kids
as we are 8 one taxi didn't work so we needed like 3 taxis or 2 taxi vans and when i quote we almost have the same price than with the tour.
i aso wanted my kids to know old san juan fortress, i been there but i think they will enjoy it.
i didn't pay in full, only a small down payment.
hope this is useful!
Alex

This is a new list:
Hopefully you can read it, i can't put a exellist on this page.
First number is for pins and the P is paid the second number is for the lanyard.
If you only have a lanyard i have put a L behind it.

First DIS Name Pins Paid Lanyards Paid

I am starting to think TeamH5 cancelled. I have not been able to confirm yet except that Alma from DCL called me today regarding our Palo Brunch request and that was the only one she found an issue with when trying to input the reservation into the system.

Have you found out about this one yet?

Thanks. I had sent an email since I had that from Palo brunch coordination. No reply yet. Noticed your list did not have a "P" after it for "paid" -- so wondered if you were awaiting payment still with lanyards. I tried searching this thread for the last time they posted.

Thank you for sharing this sale. I originally booked on March 4. The price slightly went down from SJU to Columbus, OH for Monday, Sept. 22. The sale got me $15/ticket for a future flight. I'll take it! :)
