The Magic cruises to Copenhagen, EB T/A, 5/15/15

Hey all,
question for folks with more experience than I have with sailing from Port Canaveral: if you fly in, which airport do you use? Orlando? Melbourne? I'll fly in the night before so I think I'd rather be close to the port rather than have to come over from Orlando. Also, any recommended hotels?
Any opinions on this are welcome.
thanks!

We fly into MCO (Orlando) and it's like a 45 minute drive to the port I believe.

There are a lot more flights into Orlando than into Melbourne, and the airfare to to Orlando will probably be less, too.

thanks for the replies Heather and Nancy. I'm planning on going down a day early...weather in May in the south can be a real adventure so want to be sure I have a "time cushion" to account for flight delays.
Any hotel recommendations?

I have stayed at Port Canaveral only once, and that was at the Residence Inn in 2007. It was very nice. Depending on when your flight arrives, you might want to stay at an airport hotel, and then take DCL transportation to the port the next morning.

In December we stayed at the Ramada near Port Canaveral and it was very nice, however, we were primarily interested in the free parking for the cruise and shuttle to the port.

We hope to do this cruise someday, but it will not be this year.

I hope someone can take over the Candy Exchange, it is a lot of fun.

Have a wonderful cruise, I'll be thinking of you all!

I'm sorry you had to cancel. :(

It's hard to know what one's health will be like 4 months down the road. I guess if it were me - I'd take my chances, and let my trip insurance reimburse me if I had to cancel at the last minute.

Hi Everyone,
We are on this cruise as well as the the one immediately following it. This will be our first ever B2B cruise, but we have sailed with Disney many times. (In fact we will be on a Disney cruise in something like 8 days) I have been meaning to log on and participate for literally months, but I travel for work as well as family travel and somehow it just keeps getting away from me. So now I am hoping to play catch up!
On this trip it will be myself, My daughter Macy who is 13 and my daughter Morgan who is 2.5. We are in cabin 8578 and would like to participate in any of the FE programs that are open at this point.

Welcome to the group. I can't help with signing up for anything, but Macy is more than welcome to join and chat on the kids thread. The kids are about her age 10-14 chatting away.

I had no idea there was a kids thread :) I will have to send my 13 year old daughter there tonight. Thanks

Any hotel recommendations?

We have stayed pre night in Port Canaveral tons of times. My favorite hotel is the Marriott Residence Inn. We have stayed there 4 or 5 times. We have also stayed at the Country Inn & Suites next door (didn't like it). We have also stayed a few times at the Radisson on the other side of the MRI. And we have stayed at 4 Points Sheraton Cocoa Beach (near the beach) and Doubletree Suites (on the beach). And we have stayed at the International Palms. Out of all of them I love the MRI the best. Clean rooms, great staff, nice pool, hot buffet breakfast in the am which is included in your room rate.

This trip we are staying at the Beach Club at WDW and driving to the airport in morning to take DCL bus to the port. Don't want to take the bus from WDW and it gets to the port too late for me.

We hope to do this cruise someday, but it will not be this year.

So sorry to hear you won't be sailing. Here is some pixie dust for a speedy recovery and cruising again soon!!!:wizard:

Did our online check in yesterday and got Palo on my birthday. Didn't book any excursions yet. Still deciding.

Hi:

Just booked for the cruise and I would like to participate in the postcard recipe exchange. Don't know our cabin number yet.
