The kittens are doing fine. I call the mommy, baby kitty, cause she just looks like a kitten herself, but she is doing a wonderful job with the kittens. They are in my DD's laundry room, so DH isn't happy with more indoor kitty's. My DD thinks she has them all given away when they are old enough so that is good. And baby kitty is getting herself fixed, she just doesn't know it yet. :thumbsup2

Hi guys!!
Hi Horsegirl-love your entry in the yearbook!!!

Don't forget the coffehouse chat tonight at 7 everyone!!!

1) We stayed at the Coronado last Dec - loved, loved, loved it. Its a delux in mod clothing.

2) How old are your kids? On the one hand, I think being able to surprise them like that would be really cool, but on the other hand, if they're old enough, having them involved with the planning is really fun too.

They're 5 and 8. The last few years we have really built it up before we left. We have something called The Mickey Jar. I found a really tall jar, DH cut a slot in the lid and I dressed it up like Mickey. The kids would do odd jobs around the house and earn money for it. All the money went in their Mickey Jar. By the time we left, they each had $100.00 to take with them and that was their souvenir money for the week. Yeah, I know. Child labor. But my bed was made every day. So what if the pillows were stuffed under the bed and I had to come back and remake it my way. It was the life lessons they learned that were important. You know, like how to work for what you get. They were so proud of themselves.

We also do the countdown thing a couple of weeks before with the paper chains we all used to make in school. We keep it on the fridge and every night they pull a link off. It's really a lot of fun and builds up the excitement.

Okay. I think I may have just answered my own question. :rotfl:

Yes, I do believe so :), that was in reference to the time question :)

I guess you did :teeth:

And what's wrong with child labor I ask? It's just one of the perks for having them in the first place! (joking, of course - or am I ;) )

Emerges from Lurk Mode

Ummmmmm....werent' y'all the ones that said it moved really fast at the coffee shop? HEELLOOOOOOOO...what do you call the rate this puppy's moving? :rotfl2: Luckily I'm here at home watching a sick kid or I'd be 40 pages down.

Oh, and hsuM just looks weird.

Awesome invites Jenn.

Heads back to Lurk mode

Nooo, LaLa! No! Your pre-trip rituals are awesome. Soooo great. That's why your kids will be even MORE surprised than regular kids with regular moms who don't give 'em the really fun slave labor buildup. Go surprise. Do it.

Grammy -- you have kittens?? Awww. Isnt' is AMAZING how nature speaks to mamacat? DH brought home a stray cat for me on Valentine's, once. She was preggers. She also was trying to #@A$%slap my beloved Murphycat, so we decided to keep her thru the birth and weaning, then find her a home where she could be the top dog. So to speak. But we were completely AWED by the way this little scrap of a cat who wasn't even a year old yet, I'm sure, birthed her 5 babies and knew just how to clean them up and get them all nuzzled in.

Thanks Horsegirl. I have used edit but didn't realize I could change the whole main title in that mode. Thanks again. And yeah, li'l scary. Like nicolemarie said, a little bit like high school. ew. But now that I've gotten a handful of "like your reports," I feel better. I won't be the first response-less TR in the history of the DIS.

Thanks! Hey Mush, I got some good news for ya!!!

delurking....

Does it have something to do with that econ quiz? :cool1:

Not necessarily, I will let you know how I do on that but.....

I am now an economics minor, thank you very much
Not sure what it will get me but I am going to have it, I need one more upper division econ class. But, there aren't any available for me to take here so I am having a hard time finding one to take.

If ya like micro...steer towards something like managerial econ.

If ya like macro, money and banking is always a fun one, or international.

Best of luck on that endeavor.

Eh, I am taking managerial right now (it's tough)
I have already taken Money and Banking (I loved it, it was cake)

Too bad I can't take the Economics of Baseball class they offer, it's not offered for my time

Just thought you might want to know someone slipped over to your side :)

Last week DS11 and I were at MGM and did Who Wants to be a Millionaire. The second guy in the hotseat had on a badshoe.com shirt! I wanted to give him a shout out!! Hey! I KNOW you!! Who are you?? How's Commando Nikki? Or are you just a groupie like me?? I tried to explain it to DS11 but he looked at me like, well, like he should look at his crazy mother in that situation. I sooo hoped to stalk this guy after but the peeps took him away to collect his hat and five pins. He said he was there with his son but I couldn't stalk him either b/c he was on the other side of the audience blocked by a melon head (no offense, Jen).

OK, that's it. Now can I play?

Jamal

Yzma and Kronk was correct it was his Evil Emporer Zurg. I unfortunately missed is first trip into the hot seat that week. Didn't live up to his normal prize level....typically he gets a shirt but not this trip. The big winner was Connor child number 3 age 12 who got his very own shirt. If anybody saw that show he was the kid that jumped up and ran around the stage after answering the 32,000 point question correct. Alas Mrs. Zurg was the big loser of the trip out of our family of 6 I was the only one not to get into the Hot Seat....my 8yr old made it again for the second time in her life which turned out to be Zurgies second trip which he also bombed on....4,000 points...

It's such a small world I always wonder if we will recognize someone from the boards or be recognized....

Yes, we did. DH was primed but the free dining was the kicker. That did it. He caved and we booked Coronado Springs. We thought about going for broke and booking the Contemporary but we then decided that we would like for the kids to have a college education one day after all and stuck with another moderate. But that's okay. We love Coronado Springs and are oh so psyched. The kids don't know yet. It's waaaaaay too far off for us to have to hear them ask if we're leaving tomorrow every day for the next five months and three weeks.

Okay, let's take a poll. Oh, I typed poo just then. :rotfl2: Yikes, I need some coffee.

Should we tell the kids or should be just drive down and let them figure out where we're going when we pass under the arches? I don't know if we could swing it, but that would be very, very cool.
Hey--We're staying at CSR in June, never been, but reading GREAT things on the DIS. Any suggestions on a great building to request???

Jamal- Did you ever see that old indy movie? cuz I'm thinking your title was inspired by that. The cook, the butcher, the wife....am I right? Loving your tr
.

Oh no!!! I've never even heard of the movie you all are talking about! No, the title comes from the names The CookMaster's son gave us in the comic books he writes. I am The Fixer b/c I have been known to clear up a problem or two. Pest Control, if you will. As Elaine from Seinfeld once said, "You know me...I walk into a room, problem solved." Well, this funny little 9 year old author has written two comic books starring The Fixer and The CookMaster (his mom, an awesome cook). We solve problems and pests on my flying Fixer-board and her flying Spatula.

OK, this sounds odd. I will have to try to figure out how to send a pic of the comic...

More on the Fixer and CookMaster to come!!

I knew it!!! At least I thought it was Zurg. He had that little hostess quaking for her job as he was much more engaging than her. Fun, fun...:)

Sounds like your trip was great. Hope the Evil Emperor will be writing a trip report?!?

Lala, I think you just have to tell the kiddos. Your pre-trip rituals are just too fun to miss out on. They'll still be just as excited on the trip down!

PongoJenn, keep meaning to get on to say I love those invites, and the bridesmaid's dresses, and your dress too. The blue in the bridesmaid dresses will highlight the beading on your gown, I bet! (Is that why you picked that color?)

Well, I figured out how to do the photos from work. I think my home computer was being possessed. BUT, I could only put the one photo in for now, because in all my futzing around, I shrunk up the others too much. Have to re-download them from home. Thanks again for the hints, Melonmom.

Horsegirl, I posted on your TR, as I finally got caught up. A great report! Your review of EE was the best I've seen. Can't wait!!

I think you will love the Coronado. We stayed in 9b, which is a great location, right near the main building and bus stop. I would also suggest 8b or Casita 1,2 or 3. Ranchos are really nice, but a further walk to the main building. Casita 4 and 5 were a hike.

Did you see Buzz's site? Check it out. You'll find a link on the resorts board. It's really great, with lots of pictures.
