I don't believe THAT GI Joe ever needed little 'ol Barbie.

Have you seen the NEW GI Joes?

They are metrosexuals.

OMYGOD! We have the same brain! Cut from my trip report a few days ago:

“Look Dot, boys can wear pink. We call them metrosexuals or new G.I. Joe.” I am sorry but G.I. Joe just isn’t the same since he shrunk and lost the Kung Fu grip. The 80’s emasculated our men and G.I. Joe. “sigh”

Plus... it was more exciting than plain beer shots. More vomiting. Much more.

:scared1:

I can see driving the ceramic bus of doom to be a foregone conclusion with that! You party hard core!

It's such a bright sunny day today here (Massachusetts). It might even get up to mid 60's by the end of the week! (finally)

I've had a song in my head all day...
(Mel Brooks anyone!?!)
"Springtime for Hitler and Germany...
Winter for Poland and France..."

"Don't be stupid, be a smarty, come and join the Nazi party!"

The Producers ROCK! I want to make that costume of the German Gal with the Pretzel bra.

Melly!

I was reading Ally's report a minute ago and you mentioned eating some kind of cheese with some Reisling! Do you like Reisling? Rhonda and I thought we were the only ones that like it. I like it more than her I think though. I don't do dry wines. Yuck! Just wondering!

Blessings!
Mark

Mark -

All I have to say is:

Nebraska - FIVE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

FSU - 2

But I did forget to tell you earlier how much I've enjoyed your posts, and can tell what a wonderful pastor you must be - and I think you should definitely post your sermons. They do a body good!

Thanks for keeping me entertained while I am on hold...

I will probably check back in while I am in class tonight.

Gotta go do more work.

LY/MI

Go DAWGS
woof woof woof

Who exactly is it that calls UF the “ivy league of the South?” Must admit I’ve never heard that before.
I've never heard it either. Evidently it's only the Lillygators who call it that.

Mrs. Marky Mark: I don't reckon there'll be much tension in your house when Bama and FSU play. For you. Your husband, on the other hand, well let's just say it's a good thing he likes to pray.

I'm concerned that people think they shouldn't go "off topic" on this thread. I don't even know what the topic is.

Who wouldn't love pie and chips?!

Coupla things...

Zzub - keep dreaming. By the time we play you, drew weatherford and our new tailbacks are going to be tearing up college football. Bama don't have a prayer - though they are gonaa need one. Rhonda I love ya - mean it.

Brandt - you may have more titles, but when did they last come? hmmm? 1940 something doesn't count! hee hee

And I would post my sermons, but I don't preach from notes. I always hated it when people read sermons to me. So I get them in my head and preach from memory. It's much more fun that way! Maybe Rhonda would transpose them for me? hee hee hee

Blessings everyone!
Mark

Mark...semi-sweet reisling here...with a little smoked gouda....mmmmmmmm!!!!

Although for my favorite wines, I have to drive 8 hours to Michigan, the wineries of Old Mission Peninsula. Unfortunately the duty free allowance coming back to Canada is only 2 bottles/person. Last time mom and I came back with 26 bottles of wine between the 2 of us and paid over $200 in duty/taxes/excise! OUCH!!!! We're really going to have to be choosy this year...

Elisabeth, you forgot to bark. Cause Mel likes the barking so much. :teeth: And you also forgot to "sic 'em". I'll bet Mel will really love that!

But I'm with you, I've never heard UF referred to that way, either. Of course, most of my UF knowledge comes from Mark, so it's not very favorable. I don't know anyone, personally, who went to UF. I don't think. If I do, I obviously don't know them well, huh?
Pardon me, you are quite right.

Goooooooo Dawgs! Sic ‘em! Woof! Woof! Woof!

Now, that’s better. :teeth:

Poor lillygator, we’re really raggin’ on old Florida aren’t we?

Good afternoon, Maelstromers! Geez, it's almost 3:00 and I've done NOTHING today. I really WAS planning on putting that 2nd coat of gesso on my canvas so I can start that painting. Instead, I've been watching tv and DISing.

Since we're throwing around our ages and weights(what is up with THAT, anyway?) I'm 39. Yup, I'll be the big 4-0 in July. EEK! I'm a size 4, too, but not on top. You won't be seeing me in no bikini - that's for sure!

Okay, I need to get off my hiney now and DO something before I pretend to be soccer mom. Have a magical afternoon!

And Ally! Ally! I was reading your new thread and there is someone on there who has "Gary Sinise" in their TAG. Woweeeee! Is that a friend of yours? I think I heard the name before... somewhere. Well... I LOVE her. Or else: I HATE her. No. I LOVE her. She's so lucky. But... He's MINE! Mine! Mine! All Mine I say!!! Duck season! Wabbit Season! Duck! Wabbit! Wabbit! Duck! Fire!

That would be my tag, isn't it the BEST TAG EVER??? And I love you, too!! But, he is clearly MINE. I mean, he is IN MY TAG. Ally has linked us in her famous trip report. Ours is a love that dates back to 1994, the first second I saw him onscreen in Forrest Gump. Even my DH has come to accept this. So I wish you luck in finding someone else...I know it will be hard. :teeth:

BTW, love your trip report!!!! :thumbsup2 :wave2:

I can think of no one who deserves it any more! With the possible exception of scUM.

Uh, let's see...1970, 1971, 1994, 1995, 1997

And FSU's were when - 1993 and 1999?

Yeah, that's what I thought :thumbsup2 (just a little good-natured ribbing from one college FB fan to the next)

Good for you - I hate being read to as well. Keep up the good work!

Oh yeah I forgot about the 3 peat years - or almost I should say. Oh well. Where y'all been lately though? hmmmmmmmm?

COurse, who am i to talk trash about that? We have sucked pondwater as of late too. Not quite as much as y'all. but, still.

Blessings!
Mark

I love the school spirit that has broken out on this thread. Can't really talk too much trash about college football though, as my dear alma mater has exactly ... no national championships (although if you want to talk lacrosse or soccer -- er, football to our UK friends -- we've got you all beat). And, of course, we were the other team that wears blue and orange that beat the good rev's beloved Seminoles this year (although our blue is much nicer, in my humble opinion). Go Hoos!

I like reisling too! Yum! Right now our two favorites are these wines made from a collaboration between Chateau St. Michelle in winery in Washington, and the Dr. Loosen vineyards in Germany--Saint M. is one, and Eroica is the other. They are tasty, you should give them a try. I like Trimbach reisling too.

JulieEck, I did! Love the school and it keeps getting bigger. Scary really. Did you to West GA? That's near you, right?

Maelstromers, I want to wish you all a great week and better weekend! I'll be sure to think of you all when I'm reading printed trip reports, sippng my 5th pina colada, and eating boiled peanuts on the beach. :teeth:

Vettechick, Nope not West GA. It is near me, but we've only been here for 3 1/2 years. I have two degrees, one from Berry College in Rome and one from Kennesaw State.

Have fun on the beach eating boiled peanuts (one of my dh's favorite things to eat)! :sunny:
