The Maelstromers... a FASTPASS!

Status
Not open for further replies.
When Mary does hers, she blows out her candle leaving the sanctuary in complete darkness - symbolizing the death of Jesus. In the dark I sing "Were you there when they crucified my Lord?" Its a pretty powerful service - with many tears shed!
That actually brought tears to my eyes. Very beautiful, thank you for sharing it with us.

The second is the Redmption Basin - warm perfumed water symbolizing ho weasy and comfortable sin is sometimes. YOu wipe your hands on a white towel symbolizing being cleansed of sin through Christ's sacrifice.

How true this is.

By the way, I agree that Maelstrom...IS a Fastpass?!

However, I would add this...

Jesus...IS a Fastpass!!

AMEN !!

Thanks Mark, Blessings to you, Rhonda and Wesley.

I thought I was done DIS'ing , but the eggs are dyed and the other stuff can't be done yet till the kids are in bed, so .... Maelstrom!

PolyJenMom and Sheri (was it Sheri? I think so, but not sure now) your conversation about workout music inspired this conversation between me and DH just now:

Me: I think I'd like to get an iPod
DH: WhY? (he knows I'm not the gadgety type, and he practically had to torture me into getting a cell phone)

Me: To listen to when I go running

DH: Oh. (walks away)

<< long pause >> He turns back

DH: (loud laughter, bordering on guffaws) You are SO not planning on going running!

But seriously ... I think it might at least get me out walking. Or something. I certainly need it -- no size 4 string bikini, EVER, but I'd at least like to have less jiggle.

Oooohhhhhhh, that song. Yeah, that's a good one. Ya have to think about me and Mel when ya play that one though. Except for during the french maid on the floor part. Cause that would just be...well, steamin' hot coffeeish. And I like mine luke.

I approve of the other ones on your list. :thumbsup2 If you like Christina Aguilera, she has a song with Nelly called Tilt Ya Head Back that'll make ya wanna move it. Usher...love it. I have a very eclectic taste for music too. On my mp3, I have everything from PDiddy to Tom Jones to Casting Crowns to Cold Play. Lots of Tim and Faith too. And even...ssshhhh, Conway Twitty. 'That's My Job.' I can't help it. I'm from Mississippi. Plus I cry everytime I hear that song. I just love Yellow by Cold Play. Everytime I hear it, I tell DH, "That's so sweet that he wrote that song for Gwyneth Paltrow. He must really love her alot. Would you bleed yourself dry for me?"

He always answers "Of course I would, dear" with a roll of his eyes. And then I make him say it again with more feeling.

Paslea Pooh, I love your DH's workout list. I just love Fat Bottom Girls. You know, the song. Not actual fat bottom girls. Nothin' gets DH movin like a little AC/DC. Thunderstruck. I have watched many a pretend concert in the living room with DH playing the role of rock star slingin' sweat on the audience to that one. :rolleyes1 But shhhhh, don't tell him I told ya.

kpk89: You get you an Ipod, Girl. They're not just for working out. It makes ya clean faster too. I just pop those puppies in my ears and I am a one woman cleanin' machine. I even amaze myself.

Sheridac: I have a DH just like yours. Everything is left up to me to decide. He was that way with planning our wedding and he is still like that ten years later. He will occasionally put in his opinion, but for the most part, I am the one stressing over every little decision. I'll ask him what he wants to do and the answer is always " I don't know. You do such a good job of setting everything up, just do whatever you think." In some cases, that's a good thing, but I feel your pain when it comes to being alone in the planning department. He gives his input once we are there but with ADRs and all, forget about it. He has no time to entertain such petty thoughts, especially five months out.

His only response to my rather lengthy debriefing on our ADRs for our upcoming trip was "You got Boma in there somewhere?" I replied "Yes, we have Boma booked for that Wednesday, the day we will be going to the AK." He then says "Well then I'm good." :teeth:

Well, I'm off again to make strawberry pies. Yummmm. Love em.

So what's everybody havin' for Easter dinner tomorrow? I've got a spiral sliced ham, I'll do some deviled (Easter) eggs, a shoepeg corn salad, rolls, the strawberry pies and Mama's bringin' a spinach casserole and a few other veggies. We'll throw in some rolls and lots and lots of sweet tea.

How 'bout everybody else? Whatcha fixin'?

:rotfl2: That is exactly what Mr. Silly wants to know too. We have to fit Boma in. We might even go twice this year.

I just watched the Expidition Everest show on Animal Planet. Wow does that look cool. I can't wait!

Years ago before I hired on at my current church, I was in choir at our former church. It is a large church and every year we did a whole week of the Easter Story Drama complete with animals for the temple scene and professionally rigged flying angels for the Ascension at the end. Tickets were free but always went fast. The choir members were always dressed in their choir robes behind a guaze curtain that was backlit. We were the Heavenly Hosts. "Were You There When They Crucified My Lord" was sung as soon as the stage went black after the crucifixion. It was always hard to choke out those words at that powerful moment, but we always manged to get it out. I do miss that choir.

Tomorrow we are going to second service because I voluteer one Sunday a month in the baby nursery, otherwise we would go to the first service. We are picking up my MIL from her care home to take with us.

Yes, I am cooking, but no I am not going to carve the ham. If you don't know what I am talking about see the linky in my siggy.

May His blessings and promise be renewed within you tomorrow and each and every day!
:grouphug:

we had a meal tonight and tomorrow we are laying low after mass...I had a strawberry pie here too!!

this melonmama can bake herself some pies, and other yummies...

I really need a margarita tonight...but not going there....

:cool1: OK then! Every time I have a decision to make, I will come here. I will call my compilation The Maelstrom Report. And, as a special treat to all my brethren, not only will I do a trip report, I will do a live trip report. That's right folks, The Maestrom Report, Live from the Poly.

LaaaLaaa! We have family brunch. Everyone brings a dish to pass so I actually have no idea of what we havin', except for what I'm bringing of course. Which is a salad with balsemic dressing. Not very Easterish, I know, but those of us still working off the lbs rely on that rabbit stuff!

Oh, yes, Tikiman and I are intimately cyber-acquainted!

ooohhh....guess what......

My soon to be sister in law left me a message to call her today, so I did...

I am getting married two days after her anniversary (she is married to DF's brother), sooooo she wanted to surprise him with a vacation for their anniversary. And....she wanted to know if we wanted to celebrate our anniversary with a vacation as well. She wants the four of us to go to Disney for a week!!!!!! How unbelievable awesome is that. She doesn't want to tell him until like four or five months before the trip but I am going to tell her she should mention it to him now because he may not want to share his anniversary vacation with us...lol

But we could do some things together and some things separate.

I was so worried about when I would get to go back, this is perfect. It would be next August. Anyone been there in August before, how unbelievable hot is it and how are the crowds???

You know what else this mean... I may "HAVE" to buy an AP now because we are going in November, so that means I really should , wink wink nudge nudge, get one that way I could try to get a bigger discount on our rooms in November and then I could also use it again in August, imagine all the savings of not having to buy tickets again alone. Don't ya think I need one???

So all you August people I need as much August info as possible.

LYMI
Jennifer

p.s. If the idea didn't scare me so much, Sheri I would say that we should meet at Carousel one day for a mini Dis meet

Pongo, we've gone in August the last 3 years with another this year. Crowds are so-so the first two weeks and then pretty thin the last two weeks as all of the local residents go back to school.

The heat is another story. Last year was pretty bad but the other two were bearable. You just have to pace yourself and drink a lot of water and duck into the AC attractions (and bathrooms!) a lot. I've gone in April and November where it has been just as bad and maybe even worse. The temp is usually around 90 but the humidity is high and you get a lot of quick showers that pass through.

Jen - Already a plan to go back? That is great and will be fun, fun, fun!

I was just at Carousel yesterday and today too!

Yea already another plan....I am sooooo super excited.

Lou, we were there june 24th or so through july 2nd last year that was HOT!!
I figure if we can deal with that we can do anything.

It would be towards the end of August so I am hoping the crowds aren't too bad. It won't be the holiday weekend, so that's a plus.

She is pretty much depending on me for all the advice, I am sure most of you know how this feels. this will be a first for me.

Andy is pretty much on board with it, so that's cool too. That makes me super excited as well. We had talked about going there for our first anniversary as well, so this will be perfect. His only reservation is going to be the heat.

How are AP room discounts, are they ever any good???

Sheri...get anything good? I haven't been in a while, last time there I bought a nice new Coach purse, so I should stay away. Although I do love going to Cold Stone Creamery.

Actually, no. Unless you count dinner at Uno's. I was so bummed because I had my eye on steak and shrimp and then I remembered it was Friday and I couldn't have meat. :furious:

I did stop in at the Coach store but nothing said buy me. Imagine that. My other favorite place to visit is the MAC counter in Kafmanns.

Don't know about the discounts because we're DVC members but when we went in the first two weeks the max wait was about 20 minutes when you couldn't manage your fastpasses (someone say Maelstrom?!?) In the last two weeks we virtually walked on anything we wanted to. We did Buzz two times in a row and that never happens.

I actually have a funny Maelstrom Fastpass story....on one trip we got a fastpass for Maelstrom and then went and did something nearby. We got back a little early and saw there was no wait so we just walked on. By the time we got out the line was out past the restaurant! (The only thing I can think of is it must have been closed and re-opened right when we got there.) Anyway, being the good soul that I am I picked a family of four off the line and gave them my unused, now valid fastpass so they wouldn't have to stand on line. I think they were from Eurpoe because they didn't speak English very well and they just could not believe that I just walked up to them and gave them fastpasses. (Or maybe they couldn't believe Maelstrom....is a fastpass?!?) :p

Jen,

As Lou said it is hot but as long as you don't try to go commando on the parks it really isn't that bad (except for the LMA show at MGM, it was like an oven in those stands). We were there last Aug from the 16th through the 23rd. I would also add to Lou's recommendations to consider the TS resturants for lunch, it does help to get out of the heat for awhile in the middle of the day.

The crowds were pretty reasonable, I don't think we waited in line for more than 10 mins for anything, especially using FPs.

Thanks Lou... so there is hope for going in August.
We aren't going this AUgust for our honeymoon because of the heat and hurricanes... go figure

How funny that we are going to go next year.
I have never been with other people before so if this pans out it should be interesting.

Andy's brother has never been, so I am not sure about his reaction to everything. One of Andy's other brothers picks on me about Disney.
