Hi ALL!

We're back! Never did see any happyhaunts (that we knew of)...but we did see this while we were checking out of Mouse Gear one night:

(Am I allowed to post uncomfortable looking--not to mention unsightly looking--under garments on here?)

Anyway, MAELSTROM!

Thank you so much! I really needed a laugh. And I was worried that I might eat too much for lunch! Not any more! Just threw up in my mouth a little and ate it!

Ummmm, aren't we missing a few people? I am noticing that some regulars have not been around the last few days. YAK? Backstage_Gal? SNAP? and PrincessAurora only has time for drive-bys now. And I'm certain I am forgetting others. And where's Tink today?

COME BACK, COME BACK, WE MISS YOU!

Thanks so much GA! I'm here, just away from the 'puter this weekend. Busy with DD's Ice Skating Banquet, and DS's family birthday party and Mom's day, and went to see Invisible Man at the Shaw Festival at Niagara-on-the-Lake last night. Then I had to TAPE Survivor, Despirate and Grey's and had to catch up so I'm up to speed tonight!! WHEW!

First, HAPPY BIRTHDAY GA!

Some nana's for you!

Second HAPPY ANNIVERSARY POOP&HOOP

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: some of these for 19 yrs!! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I hear I missed some action this weekend, so I'll have to go back and catch up!

There goes my breakfast!

For those of you who asked: here's how I resolved the gift problem. I took a combination of the advice I received from y'all. It occurred to me I should talk to my wife about it. She's smart and although I don't normally talk to her in advance about her presents, under the circumstances it made sense for me to do so. She thought I should talk to my daughter and explain to her that Daddy made a mistake and give her the opportunity to go pick up something different if she wanted to. We agreed that if she didn't want to, if she was dead set on giving my wife the necklace, to just let her do it.

Before I talked with my daughter, I called the first store I had taken my daughter to. You see, my daughter first picked out a bracelet she wanted to buy her mamma but I said "no," b/c it was the first thing at the first store. Stupid Daddy. Anyway, the girl at the first store pulled the bracelet and put it aside for me.

I left my office early on Friday and when I got home I told my daughter I needed to talk to her. I told her I made a mistake b/c we bought Mommy something she already had. I borrowed Horsegirl's line and told her that she had very good taste b/c she picked out something Mommy obviously liked. Bearing in mind what JW said, I made it clear this was my mistake and not hers. I reminded her of the bracelet she had first picked out and told her if she wanted to get that for Mommy, we could go pick it up. I let her know that I already called the store and they were holding it for us. She was very excited about that and wanted to go get the bracelet for Mommy. So that's what we did.

We also made a card for Mommy. I had my daughter tell me everything she loves about her Mommy and I printed them out for her. You know what was amazing? I didn't have to prompt her. She named off 12 things all by herself. I think that's pretty cool she recognizes how much her Mamma does for her. She's pretty smart.

We also gave my wife a gift cert for a pedicure and my dog gave her a bag of treats. I told him to give her something he'd enjoy getting.

Happy Birthday GA!
Happy Anniversary Poop!

Hoop: that's just freakin funny and gross all at the same time. That is so fastpass. How long before sideways Nobuol has a new entry for this mystery shopper in the yearbook?

I'm here...and thanks for noticing I was gone! Two jobs and a new romance make for a very busy SNAP, but I'm still a Maelstromer!

VIKINGS FOREVER!!!

And more importantly:

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GaCAT!!

and

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY POOP!!

I forgot to give you the farting head on moped props.
Thanks, Sheridac! Back at ya' :moped: with a :3dglasses as well.

GA or Chapter 11: can one of y'all cover my 10:00? I'm otherwise occupied watching this thread at the moment.

I just finished the tape of Survivor.

Austin Carty (a real cutie I might add.....) mentioned us when he was interviewed at the reunion show!!

He said, (when talking about his experience at Excile Island')

"when that sun came up after 48 hours of going through that MAELSTROM"

I know how he feel's sometimes.

So many pages, so little time!

the level of wrongness here is so vast that there no words beyond...ew.
Besides...showing your thong is SOOO last season!

gonna go work out now

First things first.

J&Rs MOM: Thanks for that image. Really. Now I need a new keyboard. Yikes. Brings to mind a certain Sir Mix a Lot song.....

ZZUB: Mad props to you. You handled the sitchashun perfectly. I bet she loved the card from your DD. Speaking as a Mom, the things that the kids say themselves are the most tearjerking of all. DD's preschool did something similar, they interviewed the kids about us and wrote down what they said. Apparently she thinks I'm 40 and thinks I'm the funniest when I talk to her "children". And she thinks I'm the prettiest when I "put on jewelry". Told ya she was all girl. But really, those are the things we remember the most.

I'll see your two farting heads and raise you one. You rock. :moped: :moped: :moped:

PMM: Hey Woman. Sting rocks.

Sher, Horsey, Tink Chappie: (((((((((((slap))))))))))))))

THERE you are! Did you have an okay Mommie's Day with the kids away? Hopefully they picked you up something really nice on that trip!

Thanks, GaCat, I thoroughly am enjoying my time alone. 2 weeks without family and 5 days in a row without work! PRICELESS!!!
I picked out my own presents for mothers day, LOL, a 13" tv for the kitchen, a new toaster oven (the old one was too much trouble to clean :teeth: ), some new table clothes and other odds and ends at wally-world. bargain price of $201 and change....
Only bummer is I wanted to mop the kitchen floor to my fav. record (I think about 40 yrs old) of Hildegard Knef songs, in German, (Pirate song... "and when the head falls, I'll say "Hoppla"..) and Mac the knife in German and a bunch of others nobody here would know. But alas, NO needle in the stereo!!! whats up with that? :confused3 So I still haven't cleaned the floor. :rolleyes1
Getting a pedicure tomorrow afternoon, then it's back to work Wednesday, alas :(

and HAPPY ANNINVERSAY, POOP!!!

We used to play a game called "Running Bases" between the sewer plates. Has anyone heard of this game?

Growing up in NYC that's a big Yes! We used to play it all of the time. :)

And that thong picture is worse than any clown picture I have posted. I'm just saying.

Welcome Back, J and R's mom! Tell us about your trip! :cool1:

Dick feels for me, y'all. I've started throwing kanipshun fits on a daily basis. He just emailed htis to a local cable company.

Hello,
I just moved in to Deerchase. My wife is in a bad way because we can’t get internet. No cable yet and we found this morning Bellsouth could be 2 weeks away.
Do you handle internet access?
Thanks.

hooP,

Thank you so much for the poem. I'll print it out and add it to the others you have written for me thru out the years. I have always thought you should have become a writer. I know you opted for a real job with steady pay so I could stay home with our girls. I thank you for that. As with any marriage, that is worth anything, there are times that have been tough. When the girls were tiny and rarely sleeping comes to mind. I think what has seen us thru and continues to see us thru is that we are truly friends first. That is our foundation.

It is easy to fall in love but it is work to STAY in love. Thankfully it isn't too hard to stay in love with you, you make it easy for me. I thank you for that too. Happy Anniversary.

Awww! In honor of poop!

Everybody, all together now...

I rode my bicycle past your window last night
I rollerskated to your door at daylight
It almost seems like you're avoiding me
I'm okay alone but you've got something I need

I've got a brand new pair of rollerskates
You got a brand new key
I think that we should get together and try them on to see

I've been lookin around awhile
you've got something for me
I've got a brand new pair of rollerskates
You got a brand new key

I ride my bike, I rollerskate don't drive no car
Don't go to fast, but I go pretty far
For somebody who don't drive, I've been all around the world
Some people say I done alright for a girl

I asked your mother if you were at home
She said yes, but you weren't alone
Oh, sometimes I think that you're avoiding me
I'm okay alone but you got something I need

I've got a brand new pair of rollerskates
You got a brand new key
I think that we should get together and try them on to see
Oh, I got a brand new pair of rollerskates
You've got a brand new key
