I think I may have to repeat one of my classes!!!! I am doing so bad!!!
Ugh, I have been on the Deans and President (which is better than the Deans) list every semester I have been at school!!!! What am I going to do??????????????

Tink. I must have missed the part where you were from New Orleans. You must have had quite an ordeal these past months.

Yes, ma'am, We have. We lived in Dick's cousins' house with 18 other people for over a month. We stayed on here because the people were so nice and Dick's hotel was not.

He lost his job after 13 years because the hotel was not operational and would not be for 3 months. He was forced to resign. My company relocated me here in a simular (sp?) position, gave us all Christmas gifts from Santa, and gave us $1000.00 for our disaster relief. (I work for a REALLY good company.) All in all, Katrina has been good to us.

We are very lucky to have such good family, who I did not even know before the hurricane. They let us stay at their house rent free for 4 months.Then we stayed at one of their rental properties (which we paid rent for) for 8 months until we got our new house.

It is very scary to buy a house in a place where you know so few people. I've never been outside the Metro New Orleans area, except when we 1st got married and lived in New Jersey. And that was only for a year and a half.

But we like it here. So I hope we'll be okay.
My immediate family is still in New Orleans. My parents moved to the Northshore with my sister, but my brother is still in Metairie. The rest of the family is scattered across the US, from Seattle to Virginia. So sad.

But, hey. It's Saturday. Let's be happy!

Tink I am so sorry! That was devistating enough to watch. I can't even begin to imagine what it was like to live through. I work for a teaching hospital and we had several staff go down to help out.

I'm sorry your husbands employer wasn't more supportive and glad that yours was. Natural disasters are hard enough to recover from without having to worry about how you'll make ends meet.

Thank god things are better for you now.
