Hi All,

I'm tired of lurking and I have read almost ALL of everyone's trip reports. (I feel like a stalker ). Mel HappyHaunts I can't locate yours for some reason.

I have to say that all of you are colorful and funny. I posted a very brief (not really a trip report) story on the family boards about my last trip with my daughter.

Anyway I wanted to subscribe and say hello to all of you. I hope that you will let me join this illustrious group of funny, colorful and oh so happy MAELSTROMERS! (my daughter doesn't get that ride OH WELL).

Trip Report coming up... if only I didn't have this darn job... oh wait... if I didn't have this darn job, I would NEVER have any computer time! Or trips to WDW. I have a few things to catch up on at work, then I'll Git-R-Done, to steal a quote from Mark. Couldn't have asked for a better trip!!

Thanks to everyone for all comments about Wesley. Of course WE think he's the cutest kid ever, but it's always nice to hear that other people think he's cute, too! AND, he's well behaved, if you can believe that. How lucky are we?!?

Back to the character stalking lessons... the meet and greet with Aurora and Phillip was a special bit of Disney magic worked by Mark, a friend, and a princess. But the Aurora at Epcot...totally spontaneous. We were just at the right place at the right time. Incredibly magical. I just wish I had taken the video camera, so that Mark could have experienced it, too.

Thanks for the validation. I have to say that I am totally psyched to be included into this so cool group (listen to me you would think I'm sixteen and not forty um..... not forty yeah that's it.)

I have to say that I have really enjoyed everyone's trip reports. I must pay homage to all the great trip reports that I have read. (again with the stalker thing. )

LALA your's was soooo great and I cried when I read your epilogue. I haven't lived in the south for ages...years I meant years.. um, er nevermind. I was completely devastated to see what happened to everyone and I pray for a quick return to normalcy (whatever that is). I have family that live in Houston and let me tell you we were watching nonstop holding our breath when Rita came rolling thru.

Master Gracie I can't wait for the next Spiderman installment.

Horseygirl yours made me laugh and I can sympathize with all the critters. I only have a dog and cat but you would think that the world revolved around them. My DDBB (see siggy) says that my dog is a spoiled mama's boy and I can't argue. My cat seems to think she is the mistress of all she surveys and lord help if any visting felines wander into her domain.

Momyofmnm or Poly Melon Mom your stories made me laugh so hard my DDBB thought I had lost my marbles. Your kids are soo cute.

Zzub the Great what can I say but Wow and hello from another Pacific Northwesterner.

To everyone else, This is no slight I just can't think of everyone elses except for Vettechick and MelHappyHaunt (even though I can't find Mel's I've seen her replies to all).

I look forward to sharing in all the great stories. (wow I need to get some kind of life , you would think I don't have a job or anything) I sound desperate

Phew...took me about an hour (or more) to catch up from the weekend. Thanks for the reports Horsegirl (great pics!) and Haley (glad Mr. Silly's tests went well). Mark and Rhonda, Wesley is SUCH the cutie-patootie. No wonder the CMs love him so much. Welcome to the newbies...Dana and the lurker snail person (sorry, I should've taken notes). Tink! Hope the unpacking is going well. ZZUB, it's always so nice to see you stopping by. You never fail to entertain. You too, Lou, and Ed. Loved all the cute Disney jokes, too.

Oh, and Horsegirl, you can add me to your lefty list. I hope Karl Rove gets whatever just desserts are coming his way. He's lower on my list than the guy who is supposedly in charge. Must say, though, that I love our political diversity here, and the fact that we all love each other regardless

Day Two- DC for Free
A special to JW. Did you see me?

I waved at you but you didn't wave back Didn't you see me on the train as it went by

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay in DC, this is not the ideal time of the year to visit DC due to all of the school groups (as you noticed) but at least you had pretty good weather. The summer here can be pretty brutal on tourists with the heat, humidity, and concrete.

The three museums that you visited are also my three favorites here and in that respect your timing wasn't too bad since the National Museum of American History will be closing in September for 2 years.

The National Zoo is always hurting for funding so the conditions there vary from time to time, but in general they do a pretty good job of taking care of the animals and it is always an enjoyable place to visit (well maybe not in July and August when it is so hot that alot of the animals are not very active).

Your son is learning early about the facts of political life, lying is part of the job description of politicians, they all do it, some are just better at it than others
