All the chatters are going to WDW... . I'm jealous......I was looking through the WDW menus last night picking places to eat for our next trip......since its a least a year away I may be jumping the gun.

I am an ongoing family service worker. Basically I work with kids that have already been removed from their parents and provide supportive services to the family to try to reunify the family. I also work with families where kids are still in the home but not stable attempting to prevent the removal.

WOW. I bet that is an emotional and physically draining job. I couldn't do it. Do you like it most of the time?

What area do you work in?

I did child welfare for 5 years, and now I work for a mental health agency doing a school based positive behavior program. Basically a teaching position without the summers off.

If you don’t like it then you are not successful and it really shows in your work. I do enjoy what I do, most of the time, I don’t like doing removals. Burnout for what I do is 18-24 months, I have been there for 4 years...lets just say today was one of those days!!! People can be really stupid sometimes...

I did this for 3 years! I feel for you.......I got so burned out. I did investigations for a couple of years though, and I loved that. If the allegations were unfounded, I closed the case, and if they needed help, I sent them on to an ongoing worker. Loved it!
