The Mad Chatters thread Part 5

DD12 is having her 13th birthday the day after Halloween. She wants to go out to lunch and go shopping with me. That sounds easy enough! We did that last year on her birthday too.

Thanks. We only have Sam's in our neck of the woods. No Costco or BJ's. I absolutely love going to Sam's. Next week I'll be making a trip.

We're going to Sam's this weekend. Not sure if it'll be today or tomorrow. DH says today.

Oh, how nice Bonnie. Is it just the two of you or with some of her friends?

That's the thing, she doesn't really have any close friends here yet. Even at church, she is the ONLY girl her age. :guilty: So it'll just be us, I guess. Maybe we'll talk with a lisp again..... :teeth:

Tricia I see there's a thread for New Orleaners.
I hope you guys keep chatting with one another like the Chicago thread :thumbsup2

Tricia, do you still consider yourself a New Orleanser?

Joanne do your girls not like to shop?

The 12 Yo doesn't like it. :sad2:
And the 15 yo only likes to go to Abercrombie.
which freaks me out with some of their prices!
and she goes with her friends.

I know how hard it is for girls her age. Kids can be so cruel. I'm sure as time goes by she will have lots of friends. :)

Please explain the lisp thing. :confused3

Yes. ::yes:: I'm 40, so for 38 years of my life I was. I'm only about 45 minutes to an hour away. All our news channels we get are in New Orleans. Where we live is still considered a suburb of New Orleans.

It's just not as big and the Chicago Thread. They only have about four or five of us who post there. It's nice because one lady lives in the french quarter. She keeps us posted when something new opens.

The kids aren't mean to her. She's just new here and they've been friends for years. It's especially hard to be new in Jr. High or High school, where you are changing classes all the time. She has friends, but no close friends who she can hang out with outside school. The girls play with the kids on the block but there are none Heather's age, so she plays with the younger kids.

Last time we went shopping, I told Heather we had to talk with a lisp the whole time we were gone. Even to the cashiers and the server at Olive Garden. We were laughing so hard! It made it fun.

I took Kelsie to American Eagle yesterday. She got a pair of Jeans for $40.00. I thought that was very good. I really try to keep her out of Abercrombie. Those same jeans would have been at least $75.00 there. :confused3

i'll be back in few minutes -going to get dressed.
i shouldn't be in my pajamas when the carpet guy shows up :rotfl:

Yikes! We can't afford to get her stuff that expensive yet. That's why I take Heather to the outlet mall (It's the closest mall to us). She gets her jeans at 5.7.9 (they carry her size 1) and tops they have a Guess outlet and we really loved this store called Papaya.

Plus they have a Lindt chocolate truffles store!!

I totally understand that Bonnie. Kelsie was just starting 8th grade when the Hurricane hit. She started at St. Roberts where she had been since PreK. Big 8th grader. Then went to school for three weeks where we evacuated to. We move into our "new" home and third school of the year. I thought please let the kids welcome her. Fortunately for her they did. Everyone is so spread out around here (meaning all our old friends). It took a couple of weeks for her to feel comfortable and let people in. :grouphug:

Man, Tricia. I can't believe everything you went through. Did you lose any people you knew?

Happy Saturday!

Anybody else remember The LIttle Rascals? They had an episode about Spanky trying to fake sick to get out of school and his mom saying....."It's Saturday".

Spanky sang a little song..........."It's Saturday, oh it's Saturday a hiyi hooty and a ha ha ha"...............or some other little nonsense sounds.

It always goes through my head on Saturday mornings................ :wave2:
