Denise (the original) I haven't chatted with you since Friday morning. How did your DD's surgery go? Since it's been a few days now I hope she is feeling better and back in school. I thought about her Friday morning.

If you are interested in being part of the Mad Chatter Christmas Gift Exchange...(and I hope a lot of us are)

1. PM me by October 31 (deadline to join exchange). Info needed will be name/home address/email. Also your favorite color, animal, character and an idea of a few things in life that really make you happy. You will have the name of your "secret chatter" by November 3.

2. A basic guideline for price range is $25.

3. On the sly find out just what would make your secret chatter's day...shop for your secret chatter and mail your gift off by November 30.

4. Be on the lookout for the "party" date. Everyone who is in on the exchange (and even those who are not) can gather for some tasty cyber tea and Christmas cookies and we can open our gifts together and post our thank yous!! This date has yet to be set but will be at a time that works for the most exchange chatters. We are aiming in the week to two before Christmas time frame.

Hi Elizabeth, I'm home today too!! But I'm home because I am sick. Sinus infection, Dr. gave me two scripts to fill. I have to work tomorrow though, so no rest for the weary.

Hi R2!!! I am happy to be alive..............it was horrible this morning...........dark as night, rain in sheets, flooding in the roadway...........traffic was a nightmare. I left here with 30 min to get there, got there 45 min late..........................

One of our principals has died...........not mine, not one I knew..............but she was just around 50 and had a brain aneurysm, was found in her driveway. That is just so sad. All her staff was called out of the meetings..............they'll have to tell the children tomorrow....................

Oh, it's blown through, mostly...........just spatterings now...........they said maybe severe weather later on....................but not likely.

I was THIS CLOSE to turning around and just coming home. But I didn't.

My PM meeting starts at 12:30, so I've got about 30 min to DIS..................

Yes, I don't know how they'll approach it, but they will have to be told..............principals are a big part of kids' lives...............it's going to be hard on them.

Yeah...with the little ones it could be tricky. I'll bet many of them have never really experienced the death of someone they know.

Yes, I teach second grade. No kids today, though..........they are still on Fall Break. I have meetings all day.
