The Mad Chatters thread Part 4

ok so you're doing land and sea. I get it. well if you think that you can be satisfied with only 3 days of cruising, I'd go for that one because of the cost factor. Annd the potential for a second cruise is always a good thing ;)

DH thinks I'm going to hate it, because i don't like crowds in small places, but i bet I'll love it. But in case I hate it, I'll have WDW to look forward to if we do it second.

It's all going to come down to the cost and just how much DH wants to be home before the 19th.

i can understand how he would want to be home a little before his school starts. Is there any way you could go a little earlier? so you wouldn't but right up against the school start? or you could do WDW first and then the cruise...

I'd like to be at WDW after the 5th cuz the price drops big time so if we do the 4 night cruise from the 12-16 of August and go to WDW from the 5-12, we'd be fine. It'll probably only cost a little more to do that. then he'd have a whole week before school (and I'd get 4 nights :teeth: ).

The other thing I'm thinking is about discounts. The last couple of years the WDW free dining was for trips begining after the 15th or so. So we'd have to do two ressies to get free dining for part of the trip if we did the 3 night first, but I won't have any idea about that until WAY after booking the cruise, so i just have to pick one and then deal with the deal starting 2 days after we leave with my luck.

i know its frustrating not knowing what Disney will cook up in terms of great deals. This year I was all booked with the Swan for a short stay-then free dining came out and soI added 3 nights at a Disney hotel to get that. It was realy just an excuse to stay longer, but I'm not telling :)

I can totally see that happening with us if we do the 4 night cruise. :teeth:

Who did you fly to MCO with? How much did you spend. I know their were awesome DINGS for August, but I have a feeling I'll end up going with Airtran for hopefully $59 each way.

I was able to find a really good deal. I think it was around 60 each way from Chicago. I flew to MCO with my mom. she flew in to Chicago and we met at the airport and went down together. We flew southwest. I fly them almost exclusively now because they are so much cheaper

I just don't know if I can stand the wait to be dinged...but we can drive if all else fails, so it won't be a big deal to wait til the last minute.

So you were happy with SW?

I was happy with SW. they were easy and convenient. sometimes they delay, but not on any flight I've had to MCO. it works out well for me. What you can do is buy the tickets, and if a lower fare comes out, you can call SW and have them change the price of the ticket and give you a credit toward future flights for the difference. Thats what I ended up doing

Which would be perfect for convincing DH to book a 7 night while on our cruise! We'll probably have the airfare mostly paid for! :)

Good morning, ladies. I'm home for lunch. How's everybody doing?

good thinking Sarah! I like that idea!

Hey Bon how are you this afternoon?

Here's another one - why does Waffle House, which is supposed to be open 24/7, have locks on its doors? HMMMM....

I'm not feeling so well today. Not my gall bladder issues, my lungs are still bothering me, I'm really lethargic, and I'm starting to get cold symptoms. Can't wait till I can come home from work later and take a nap!

I'm feeling yucky today too! :guilty:

I get to go to another library and train a new children's librarian. yay.

Talk to you guys tomorrow.

BTW very funny posts Mindy. :lmao:
