School was great, as it always is in my new self-made world......... :rotfl:

We went to get Whataburger, and I'm eating fries, drinking full sugar coke, and will have my bacon cheese whataburger when the fries are gone. I only eat one thing at a time........................

It's great to see you too, hope you haven't bounced off somewhere...........

Hi Mary!

Nice. I did that last Friday. Well, I DID make a dr.'s appointment, but only 'cause I didn't want to go to work. I see Bonnie was sick today and stayed home.........poor thing, it's no fun to stay home when you're sick.......... :sad2:

hello everyone!!!

Jay you are back!!!! How was the trip? Awesome I bet!

Yep, just got back...ahhh...the sadness of leaving WDW...

But the trip was awesome. You were right, we feel in LOVE with the Contemporary! It was amazing. Fun, as fast or slow paced as we wanted it to be, awesome chocolate cake in the food and fun center, beautiful redone rooms (we were in the south wing in room 6321. We couldn't have requested a better room. We were right on the lagoon. The view out our window was the lagoon and then across it the little island with trees. Not one building in sight...ahh...peace!! And the light show sailed right up and stopped directly outside of our room every night. Not to mention our "secret stairway" that led us down to just steps from the beach and a few hundred steps from either pool! Our time was there was FANTASTIC!! The cm's were great! So friendly and welcoming. I would stay there again with no hesitation. In fact, I called earlier today about getting in 11/26-12/3 and they are booked solid :( NO FAIR...don't they all know that resort was made just for me?! ;)

The cruise was wonderful as well! I almost cried when I said goodbye to our server!! He made me feel like a queen! Our entire family loved him.

Our time at the Poly was not half as nice as our time at the Contemp. We thought the new rooms there were very nice. We liked the lush landscape. Ohana was hands down our favorite dinner...but something was lacking when it was compared to the Contemp for us. Maybe it was how confusing the grounds were to navigate at night (heck, who am I kidding, I got spun around during the day as well). Maybe it was that the staff of the Contemp was way more friendly and much more welcoming. We requested turn down service both places and didn't have a hitch getting it at the Contemp but at the Poly they only came half of the time.

Our view was again, beautiful. We were "on" the quiet pool. Looking out from our balcony we saw the trees, a few parts of other longhouses and the pool. It was a beautiful sight. And if you stepped out on to the balcony and looked to the right, there was Cinderella's castle in all of it's gleaming glory!

But...at least for us it didn't compare. The disclaimer on that observation is that I bet to another family it may have been the other way around. It was just at the Contemp they went out of their way to make our days happy and at the Poly we did that ourselves (nothing wrong with that...just liked the other one better).

I don't think you could go "wrong" with either resort, but if I am spending our own hard earned money, I would hands down do it at the Contemp (with of course a visit to the Poly for dinner and/or breakfast and a walk around the ground thrown in for good measure:)).

Hi Jay, Welcome back! :wave2:
Did you have a wonderful trip? I'm sure you did, we are getting ready for ours, even though we have a little while to go.

We did have a most wonderful trip, thank you for asking! I cannot say enough times how much I wish I was back there already! In fact, the addictive pull is so strong I am in the midst of the early stages of planning a mom/boys get away right after Thanksgiving. Hopefully that all works out. I may be changing my mind...when I called resorts were FULL! :( Ugh. I thought the week AFTER Thanksgiving was supposed to be a slow time of year. But...it is Disney...

We shall see! :)

Hi Mary!

And, I must ask, did you take advantage of your day off to add to your trip report?! I am enjoying reading it! Thanks for posting it!

But you did lie...you are NOT a bad writer. I find it enjoyable! I just cannot wait for more!

She who, Cy, Bonnie?

Yeah, she has been, but this is a respiratory thing........................the other thing she still goes to work with...............both aren't fun.

Jay, you went to both the places we want to try!!! Dh said we could go this summer, but going that soon means we can't go deluxe. We tried to get Contemporary last summer, but it was booked then too...........

Sounds good. I had to break down and cook tonight. We had roast in the crock pot, bagged salad and biscuts. Nothing fancy or effort intensive...but it was hard to clear my own dishes again! :lmao:  How lazy can a person get!!??

So, have you been "forgiven" by ds yet? Or are you still public enemy number one for not going swimming?

Wow, sound like you loved the Contemporary! we loved it too.

I want to do a cruise some day.

I think we stayed very close to if not the same room as you did. (I am going to check)

Deluxes are great...but so are others! We really like ASMovies! That is one of our top picks. You should stay there!! *wait, have you already stayed there?* It's an awesomely fun resort!

I was forgiven for that, but now he's upset because I told him I won't finish our Monopoly game tonight..............I told him this was my late night (I teach until 5:45 on T/TH), and I am tired, and we'll be watching Survivor together in 30 min, plus I'm still eating. Tomorrow will be an early day........no students, out at 3:30, and the start of a long weekend. Again, my child just doesn't accept reasonable responses........he wants what he wants, and reason be doggoned.....................I hear dh talking to him now.
