As terrible as it sounds, whatever it takes, as long as he gets it fixed. I think if they find out that he has apnea, and they give him a machine to sleep, it will make a huge difference for him. It did with DH. Now he won't and can't sleep without it. We have a generator for him, so if we lose power he can sleep.

He has an appointment in a couple of weeks, so hopefully we will find out for sure and get it resolved.

Physically coming right along..........still very depressed.

That is very tough to have to deal with. I have dealt with depression personally and with my mom. I don't know which was worse.

Mary, what does your DH want a pic of? If it is Disney related, I probably have a pic of it. It is my little obsession, er, hobby.

You know, mom was very unhappy with me for calling her dr. She said she feels she has a right to be sad and she has something to be sad about..........

I told her that was true, of course, I just thought they might give her something that would help her...........she said that I said she gets upset over small things.......well, crying because you can't hear the zip code your son is giving you over the phone to write a thank you note is a pretty small thing to cry about, don't you think?

Anyway, I told her that I didn't do that to hurt her, but to try to help her......now when I call she's too busy to talk to me..........

Depression is very difficult to deal with. But Paige the good thing is (if this can be called that) is that her depression is situation induced. Which basically means when her situation improves, so should her depression. The Associate Pastor of our church was going thru some tough times recently and he had a bout of depression, and he shut down. His was situational as well, and he is doing great now. He had some therapy along with meds and he is still seeing a therapist. For now, just keep reminding her that you are on her side and that alot of people are keeping her in their prayers.

Oh wow. It is so hard to see someone you love in such emotional pain. For what it's worth, I would have called her doc too if it had been my mom.

Paige, I still think you did the right think in calling her Dr. They needed to know how bad it was for your mom, and yes she has the right to be sad, but at some point, it will take over your life if you let it. She needs to remain in control, not the drepression. I really think you did the right thing. I would have for my mom. Hey look, a few years ago, my mom was addicted to painkillers, she was seeing 2-3 Docs and was hiding pills, well I called her PCP and put him straight. We got my mom clean and now she thanks me, she said she'd have killed herself if I hadn't stepped in. Sometimes we have to do what is hard for those we love.
