The Mad Chatters thread Part 2

where do you see the new summer season? I looked on WDW's website and don't see that

Yep, Minty, I start on the 21st. I know it will suck not being able to talk to you during the day, so we'll all have to make sure to get on in the evenings!

Sarah, I WISH I could go to WDW earlier, but I won't be able to save up enough by then. :sad2: Price increases--YIKES! At least you save money by buying park hoppers, but still. It sure makes it hard for a family of 5 to be able to go very often.

Don't ask me why, but I started another new thread. DD12 and I were talking about it, so I thought I'd start a thread about it: Who do you think is the hottest Harry Potter character?

I voted!

The only reason we can go is because we bought 10-day non expiry tickets in January. i was going to save them for when we had kids, but...

looks like they only added it for the values and mods. Pretty much you'll be paying deluxe prices for those hotels!

Thanks for the responses!

Have you girls ever gotten an AP so that you could save on room costs? We are probably going to do that for next time. We actually had 2 days left on some old WDW park-hoppers that we saved for like 3 years, but we just used them at Disneyland back in March. Now we have to start all over again. :guilty:

I didn't notice that! Good catch! Value season also starts earlier in Ausgust than before. So if DH does get a teaching job, we'll probably go then

We don't go often enough. You have to stay at least 10 days (in one or two trips) to make it worth it. Plus I'd HAVE to go more times to get my money's worth!

I haven't gotten an AP before, but I think for next year it may work better. They expire 365 days from when you activate it, and I don't think you have to have it activated to use the room discounts. So if I go November of 2007, I could go again September/October of 2008 on the same pass!

Yeah, if you plan it right, and can go a second time, it would be totally worth it! (Plus if you go during value season, like we usually do, you get a pretty good rate).

the only downer is not being able to do the dining plan, which I think is incredibly stupid. You have to buy tickets and forfeit your room discount to get the plan, so you end up spending more on food. You get the little card that gives you like 20% off, but its not as good a deal

What happened to Denise? :confused3

Well, we're leaving to go see Barnyard. Talk to you later!

and not everyone in your party has to get an annual pass to get the discount. You could buy one for your children, say, at a cheaper rate and use theirs to book the room, getting regular tix for yourself. But if all of you are going more than 10 days a year, it probably makes more sense to just get all APs

We actually won't ever do the DP again unless it's free. We wasted SO much food, it was awful. And we shared a lot. Plus we hated having ADRs every day. Dh likes to not plan (or at least not know how much I planned). I'd rather eat more CS and pay a lot less. Doing it once was totally awesome though. We now know where we have to eat while we're there.

If it was just me, i'd probably do it all the time, but DH is tough. He's frugal and doesn't want to be held to a plan. I'll spend, spend, spend! :teeth:

:thumbsup2

Thanks Mindy, but I'm afraid if I breathe, I'll hyperventilate :teeth:

I hope you had a great first day of school (and that your little ones did too).

Hi Denise! (Are you in invisible mode?) Hi Minty!

Back from the interview, they want me to start the 21st. They let me pick my hours (7 to 4). Even though I'll only be teaching pre-K this year, they are paying me almost as much as I was making teaching K last year. So I"m happy about that. Then next year I'll be teaching K and I'll get a raise.

CONGRATS BONNIE!! :cool1: :cool1: That's great news! It sounds like a win win situation! :) How far will your commute be?

Hello!!

Hey Bonnie, love your new siggy pic. Must digress. Dh and I are VERY likely to have twins (like 75% or something crazy like that). If we have boys Dh REALLY wants to name them Fred and George

So vacation update: We're going to WDW in May of 2007!

Anyone want to move the meet to then? Flower and Garden festival...Star Wars Weekends? Low crowds, beautiful weather? May 6-13...

We are thinking of doing a very small "quick trip" to go to Star Wars Weekends at MGM. My boys are huge Star Wars fans and the activities sound like so much fun for them!!

I am only about 50/50 that we will make it down for a quick trip next May but I will keep you posted. :)
