The Mad Chatters thread Part 2

Yes yes yes! I LOVE the beginning of school! I love the supplies, the rosters, the new haircuts and clothes with creases! I love the kids with the overprotective parents that you have to push out the door and the ones who walk in alone. I love the textbooks and the workbooks and the pencil sharpener. I love touring the school, cafeteria rules and classroom rules. I love reading to them, and having them read to me. I love taking their first day of school pictures. I love seeing them make new friends. I love them finding their class and finding their desk.

I do love my job.

It sounds like it! Oh how wonderful it is when you do something you love for a living!

The only downers are the endless meetings before we can get down to business.........and that's all this week.

I also have the surgery on Monday that gets me pensive from time to time..............I'm sure it's quite routine for them, but it isn't for ME.

There you are Karen. :wave2: I saw your post on the kids hurting themselves thread and wondered if you were mad at us since you hadn't posted over here.................
Why would I be mad? :confused3
Of course I'm not Paige. I started work this week and I've been lurking around. Just haven't posted too much. Had to post tonight about the kids (very near and dear to my heart) and I wanted to drop by to say "hi" to all of you.

Thats right the surgery. :grouphug: :grouphug: I'm sure everything will go just fine!

Just kidding Karen.

It is on my mind, Mindy, though I do feel as if I harp on it here, I am not really able to talk about it at home.........the kids are too young and dh too nervous.

feel free to talk about it all you want! THats what we're here for. I hope we can make you feel better!

Okay, now, don't laugh at me.

But, I saw a show that freaked me out about a girl who was having something done and they THOUGHT she was under but she could feel and hear everything.

This isn't my first surgery, but it still freaked me out!

Hi Karen!

Oh dear. I'm sure this is a very rare occurance. When I had surgery in March there were about 10 people in the room and all of them surrounding me when they put me under. They really closely monitor things to ensure this doesn't happen. And most likely you'll be able to have a good long talk with your anethesiologist before the procedure. As you said, this isn't surgery 1, but things like that very rarely happen. If you feel your anesthesiologist is less than par, ask for a different one.

I talked to him already at my pre-op. Real nice guy, but I didn't say this to him as I was a bit embarrassed to even worry about it at all.

Otherwise, I'm not really worried.

I'm a bit of a control freak and I HATE being put under................

I know what you mean. But it will only seem like you're out of control for a second or two. Then it'll be over and its happy pain medication central! :teeth:

You're right of course. Amazing how only those few posts makes me feel better!

Thanks!

So what'd ya have for dinner? Dh made chili.

Got any dessert? We only have fruit salad...........I'm wanting something a little, well, MORE.................

I went to a DIS mini meet up at a mall here and we ate at Red Robin. I had a yummy bacon cheeseburger. But I could use some dessert now. For some reason that burger didn't stick with me. Perhaps it was all the shopping we did afterwards

chili sounds really yummy. DBF makes an excellent chili too

What's he put in it?

DH puts in pinto beans and red beans, hamburger, tomatos, peppers, and then his "secret blend" of spices.........but I do know they include chili powder and cilantro.

We eat it with tortillas and the kids make little tacos..........

Oh, by the way, Mexican tacos are not like the hard-shelled things you get at restaurants...........those are an American invention. It's just anything in a soft tortilla rolled up.........more like a burrito, again, an American invention.........you say burrito to a Mexican in Mexico and they think you're talking about a baby donkey. FYI (but you may have already known.........I meet a lot of folks who don't though).
