Oh my goodness! :scared1:

I don't want her to pay $30.00 for a book for school. Even with her own money.

I think what we'll do is order it from Amazon.com, just not the one day shipping.

Thanks so much, Sarah! :)

Are you still going to chat for a bit? :thumbsup2

Yeah, I'll be popping in and out! :)

Try to get her some of the other books, but if that one is gone, the others probably are too.

They have 2-day shipping too that might be cheaper.

Well, I used to be a student...but that was back before the boys. Actually, I had the boys so young that I hadn't even really figured out if that is what I wanted to really do. I have a double masters in American Lit. and in Ecology (two useless degrees...NOBODY hires someone in those fields without a PHD...okay, they do, I am stretching the truth a bit...but all of the "fun things" I would want to do (teach at a college (in either the Lit or Bio fields, run my own ecology study, etc) take a a bit more education then I currently have. However, I am happy as a clam being with my boys! :) They are my full time job now.

Wish I could stay home. :guilty: I did stay home for 8 years (well, I did substitute teach once in a while), but now I need to work cause we need the money. If we didn't, I'd stay home again in a heartbeat!

Ah... full time mom... I can't WAIT to do that!

Someday soon enough, hopefully! :thumbsup2

**And I have a confession to make...I also home school the boys** I always feel weird telling people who are teachers because I do not mean to insinuate they aren't wonderful at what they do. And I know some people have very strong opinions on the matter. But, I didn't want to "lie" by ommision to ya'll...

We love it. It's not for everybody. But it's a mighty wonderful choice for us. I am not a teacher hater (lol) and I certianly think pretty darn highly of you guys...so I hope you all don't think I am one crazy cookie now and stop chatting with me. ;) Well, actually, :teeth: I am a crazy cookie...but I still hope you let me chat here anyway! :)

:rotfl: You're so funny, Jay! Don't worry, I still like you! I always think people who homeschool are not against the teachers, but just don't want their child around all those other hooligan students! That would be my reason, anyway, if I were to ever homeschool.

::yes:: Mine, too!

Nothing wrong with homeschooling in my book... different strokes for different folks... that's all. You're still AOK in my book!

My mom teaches first grade.. and my grandmother taught first grade... my MIL taught first grade too! No wonder I'm hanging out on the "teacher thread". :rotfl:

Thanks guys :grouphug: .

I do feel like the luckiest mom on earth to get to stay home with them. Although there are days when I would run as fast and as hard as I could to any place but home...luckily, those days a few and far between!

no thats the cost of everything. I have free 2 day shipping
Oh, okay! Let me check into this sucker and I'll let you know! Thanks so much for the offer, Mindy! You're great!

Wow! Too cool! We're a teacher family, too. Except not me. :teeth: I don't have the patience. ( I wish I did! )

I need you all to help me convince Dh to go to WDW for christmas break!

Amazon Prime is amazing! You get free 2 day shipping Sarah! I highly recommend it for anyone who wants to participate and buys a lot of books-like me :)

whoa too weird-please tell me you edited your post sarah. Otherwise I think I'm going insane. Not that this is a new thing.
How can we help convince your DH?

I was just kind of scared...but I did know you all would be wonderful...well, cause you are!

My M-I-L is a middle school science teacher and my B-I-L is a first grade teacher. My S-I-L owns a preschool (but doesn't work anymore). My neice is going to school to be a Kind. teacher and her fiance is a second grade teacher.

My M-I-L was horrified at first (but then again, she didn't know anyone who did it that wasn't "out there" socially and didn't also isolate themselves from society period **they live around a lot of Amish**) but now she is happy that our 10 year old is doing so well and that our kids don't run and hide from other kids on the playground. :rotfl: She really did worry about that, bless her heart.

Anyway, sorry but my next post may hijack the thread...LOL

I am considering homeschooling my 4 year old for the first few years. We have a great school but....... one thing is she's the baby and I don't know if I will be ready for her to go to school. And the other main thing is we have neighbors (they moved in about a year ago) and they have a son who will be in the same grade as my baby, and he is a terror. I learned that early on. He knows things a little kid shouldn't know (not in a good way). I don't let her play with him anymore. (which is difficult because I am convinced he sits outside and waits on her to walk out the door) everytime she goes outside he runs over here, even if we are going out to get in the car to leave. I just really don't want her to have much exposure to him. I know things aren't the little boys fault but, I don't want it around my baby. I'm too protective, I know. (maybe I should make an appointment for that other kind of therapy, while I am therapizing) How do you guys like my new word-therapizing?? By the time I get this posted this discussion will be two pages old, and everyone will have logged off, and I will be just talking to myself.... ok, posting now.
