As for where I've been... Busy moving/settling into our new house (moved July 2nd). Then we went on an impromptu vacation to Niagara and then camping in upstate NY.

The yellow poncho is for the Cave of the Wind (I believe it's Journey Behind the Falls on your side) and blue is for Maid of the Mist. I wanted to go across, but I'm the only one with a passport. Darned new laws!!!

Kristi, I grew up going back to school in August, so it took me a while to get used to the late start here. However, I now love it b/c we go on vacation the last week of August now, and everywhere we go is deserted and CHEAPER!

Shan, I used to go back to school after Labor Day, and I wish my kids still did. On the other hand, I do like that they are done before Memorial Day most years.

SHANNON, your home is absolutely beautiful!!! I love it!!! You and your family must be so thrilled!!! I remember you were working so hard to get your Woodbridge home all ready for sale, then sold it, then house hunting at the new location and now you found THIS FABULOUS HOME!!! My guy goes back on Tuesday (Sept 8th). VERY late this year. There was talk of them starting back this past Tuesday but people got all bent out of shape because of vacation plans, etc. Everybody should do what we do: I'm taking him away from the 17th to the 27th of Sept!!! Yep...I know, bad, bad parents. Actually, had I known he was slightly struggling towards the end of last year, I would have likely cancelled...but plane fare was paid, Disney paid in full...etc, etc...so we got him a tutor through the summer. Hopefully he'll be fine. This is the last year we would ever dream of taking him out of school because he'll be in HS next year. My baby is growing up.
