Chocolate would help. Maybe even cake or pie.

As I sip my "Chocolate" protein shake that is exactly the texture of snot.

Ok, my computer time has officially expired for tonight. Time for family-prayers, bed time stories and teeth brushing.

Good night. I'll try to stay up and watch SNL

Wendy! Your Twilight shindig sounds like a total treat! Glad you had a great time!
Bonnie! It was a lot of fun. I'm thinking y'all would have loved it.

Ok, for REALs I have to git.

:guilty: BUT understood.

Ok, night Breezy. I'm not sure WHEN I'm turning in but I'm sure some kind of sleep aid will be consumed.

And I DO plan on going to church in the morning. :thumbsup2

Hi Bonnie! Nothing new with me. No ice storms that I know of BUT there is a 60% chance of snow this Friday (which would be just fine with me since I'm not working that day).

-- Rob

Snow!! How very exciting! We haven't had any yet, save it be for a couple tiny flurries last week, but they don't count.

Yay! Sounds like so much fun! And girl, you need Tivo! I never watch SNL live! That show has been cracking me up lately. It was uber-nasty last week though...even by their standards!

Good night friends!! :wave2:

I'm still up Kar! (for now) I tried to sleep but couldn't so I got back up to see if anyone was around to play with.

NO Chatter posts today? What's up?

I -- yes, I, NOT DW -- made homemade buttermilk biscuits from scratch this evening. DS10 (who doesn't like to eat hardly anything) said, in an amazed voice, "These are pretty good."

They are about 280 calories each (47% fat) and I may have had THREE of them -- one with margarine, one with jelly, and one with honey.

Buttermilk biscuits! :rolleyes1 Ohhhh my goodness, I can do some serious damage if given a plate full of biscuits. Especially if smothered in sawmill gravy with sausage chunks. Or, butter, real butter and honey. :lovestruc

I was a long day for me too. Church took up a 3 hour hunk, thankfully, but my back is sooo out of whack still when I sit. It would have been tacky to bring my humming chairpad to church, I'm thinking. :goodvibes

I had an interesting diet today. While my family ate french toast with butter, syrup, and powdered sugar, I ate a bowl full of oatmeal. For lunch I had a sweet potato with "S'not" butter. For snacks, I had a blueberry yoplait, an apple, a slice of turkey and a slice of provolone cheese. This is how I roll when I'm impatient and very hungry. Dinner is stew that is festering in my crockpot at the moment.

Oh wait, this isn't the Peeps thread. :dance3:

1. That's what I told DW. We (I) should make them for breakfast with sausage gravy sometime!
2. Awwww. I'd gladly give your back a massage if I was about 1000 miles closer to you.
3. Hmmmm, I'm guessing a certain someone made the french toast (and the oatmeal).

No Desperate Ho's tonight! (American Music Awards instead.)

1. YES! Yummm!
2. uh...Thanks? My magic chair thingie and street drugs will have to suffice.
3. I did! With this THICK white bread I bought. :cloud9:
4. Sonofa...! OK, I guess I'll watch that instead. Since my family is watching Wall*e again.

2. Fine! Hmmph, see if I offer to brush your hair afterwards either. :snooty: I'll just have to stick to the other "ladies" on this thread.
4. Maybe you can STILL find a reason to grab an hour for yourself (you always have the back excuse now -- handy to get you out of a lot things :rolleyes1 ). I'm thinking about watching Wall*e tonight my ownself (still has NOT been opened yet and we've had it for four or five days) but I haven't checked to see what "classic" movies are on tonight yet.

"ladies"????

You have to watch wall-e so we can discuss it's leftist propaganda about the evils of mankind and how we're going to all evolve to overdepend on our robots.

Here's the question to ponder after/during watching it: What is the ultimate purpose of life?

Who wants to put that much thought into what's supposed to be a kid's movie?

NOT me. I simply loved it! But nerdy-pants might over think it, so I was just gearing up to ward off any potential mass-consumerism themes or big government conversation that might be brought up.

Well, make up your mind Woman! First you say, you SIMPLY enjoyed it and then you said you over thought it. :upsidedow

(By using this split-logic, I guess we now know you ARE female, after all. )

Evening y'all!

Dropping by for a moment before I pass the heck out. Been a loooooong day! Saw Twilight w/ Bonnie & her oldest this morning. It was so-so for me. Love the books, LOVE Rob Pattinson. I know he's decades younger than me, thereby making me somewhat of a Cougar (meow) but wow! He is definitely my type.

There were some redeeming qualities to the movie, but there were some painfully over-acted moments! Hopefully the technology budget gets a boost for number 2, 'cause the effects left something to be desired as well. But, I knew going in that the budget was small.

Anywho, after that, came home & helped DH pack for his business trip, then took kids to the park for an hour. Just finished cleaning out laundry room b/c the contractors are FINALLY coming tomorrow to fix the flood damage from when we were in DL. I moved a huge freezer all the way into the family room myself! Took an hour, almost lost a pinky toe, and I may need a forklift to get out of bed in the a.m, but it's finished!

My back is feeling sympathy for yours Wendy! To quote your daughter... Hope it's not too jacked up!:rotfl:

Rob-- where are my biscuits??:confused3 Mmmmm!

Hi Kar, Bon, Squid, Kristi, Kathi, Myst, Diann, Angus, Jean, lurkers, and everyone I forgot!!!!!

Whutever! Wall-e CAN be overthunk, which is totally what YOU are going to do, I'm predicting.

Yes, very female.

Hi Kar, Bon, Squid, Kristi, Kathi, Myst, Diann, Angus, Jean, lurkers, and everyone I forgot!!!!!

LOL! Yes, the "running fast" effects were in the Superman 1 era! Hopefully they'll use some of their bazillions of box office profits to up the budget a notch. I'd even be happy to do the Cullens's makeup (much better), get Jessica a minimizer bra (poor lamb), do Jacob's hair extensions correctly, AND provide Rosalie with a root touch up....all for $200 bucks and a hug/kiss/photo from Rob (Patinsson).

So...your DH is going to be gone for a few days??? You get the whole bed all to yourself in the snore-free zone? :woohoo: Might I suggest eating chocolate and jumping on the bed?

And..."Meow"!

Glad to know I wasn't the only cougar feelin all pervy over my drooling for the young boys!

I went to this movie with extremely low expectations given what the budget amounts were so I was surprised. I really liked the movie overall for what it is - a sappy teenage love story. I may not have noticed the bad special effects because we were in the very front row and to be honest, I closed my eyes when the running was going on because it made me motion sick - especially the beginning with the deer. I should probably see the movie again and sit in a normal seat to be able to notice this.

My disappointments in the movie were more that they skimmed the surface of the book. The movie cannot stand alone on its own unless you've read the books because you won't understand a lot of what is going on. Katie hasn't read the books and I spent a lot of time explaining things to her.

Also, I was disappointed in what Edward wore - silly I know, but in the book she describes what he wears and he seems so sophisticated and in the movie he is basic teenage boy - nothing really sets him apart. Also, I was really bugged by the Jasper character - he did nothing but stare, yes his hair is bad but the acting is worse!

The last thing that I just could not get over is that honestly I thought Carlisle was a pale Tom Cruise from back in the days of Interview with a Vampire. I cannot get over how much that actor reminds me of Tom which was completely distracting for me. I loved Alice - I think casting nailed her and I loved the dad - he was much funnier to me in the movie than in the book. If they are going to make more of these movies (which I am sure they will given the weekend box office) I hope they hire a much better director and spend a lot more money.

I keep comparing the movie in my head to the HP movies, probably because of the Rob Pattison tie and when I do that this movie was disappointing. I really expected that given the popularity of the Potter films and then the popularity of these books that they would have gone all out for this movie. However, if I just think about the movie as a teenage love story with a couple of vampires thrown in - it was pretty good. ;)
