How yooooo doin? (I'm doin fine---especially since I got DH to do the popcorn thing!!) So if you wanna drive by & laugh, laugh at the tall dude w/ short red hair!!!!

We pulled up, and I took one look at the 3 dads and 5 little boys, and said "Uh-uh." I am NOT hanging out at Testosterone Central for 3 hours!!!!

New earrings? :confused3

Two football games, oil change at Jiffy Lube (right now -- I'm surfing on Panera Bread's wireless :) which is across the street from here), and then work work. :guilty:

The rain might help you all. I did 2 hours of Salvation Army bell ringing in front of a grocery store in a sizable snowstorm one December and got more donations due to my dedication (or maybe it was due to my assumed insanity -- not sure what those grocery buying folks thought of me exactly).

Go where? (I don't know what you mean since I'm all innocent and everything. )

Oh crap! You mean I've been rooting for the wrong team all season???:confused3

A Tale of A Misplaced Buckeye

**I lived in Ohio my whole life, went to Ohio State for 3 yrs, met DH, got married, had DS & put school on hold..... moved to VA when DH graduated, and finished school here. MORAL OF THIS STORY= I'm a Buckeye Rob, and a Patriot!!! (though Mason only got a football team after they went to the Final Four a couple yrs ago)**

Believe me, I would have LOVED to finish my degree at OSU. The commute would've been brutal though!;)

Well, we still won't hold that against you.

My undergrad alma mater (William Jewell College) had a football team but is only just now moving up to Division I next school year -- in NAIA!!!

Shannon, I am curious (or is it nosey? :confused3 ): How well did your credits transfer? How many years (converted to a full time pace, if necessary) did you have to attend George Mason to get your degree? I'm guessing two years of full time study?

Nope not nosey at all! This is one of my favorite subjects to get all riled up about!!!!

3 yrs at OSU (on Quarter system) and about $15,000 got me.... drum roll please....

17.4 transfer credits, of which the majority only counted as electives.

Keg parties, Buckeye games, and meeting DH aside, my 3 yrs there were a complete waste of time and money.

I had to start over, basically. I went to a comm. college to "re-take" the classes I had already taken but were only being transferred as electives, plus a few more gen-ed courses, then transferred to Mason for my Major courses.

It ended up taking me about 9 semesters (some of it part-time) to finish. From Fall of '03 to Spring '07.

I learned a valuable lesson on transfer credits!!!!!!

Keg parties?!?!?! (You can PM me the details on those. ;) )

Well, from my guess of 2 years, I am a little surprised but not too much. I remember hearing stories similar to yours (usually without the length of time in between though) when I was in undergrad and I definitely did not think your "major courses" would transfer but I thought some more of the core ones would. Did the length of time have an effect? Would some classes have transferred if you had been going straight from OSU to George Mason in consecutive years?

-- Rob

Good morning, Chatters!!

Today I'm taking my two younger girls to see Nightmare Before Christmas. Shannon, are you here? You should come too, if you aren't busy!! There is a 1:40 or a 3:50. Whatchu think? If you don't catch me online, give me a ringy-ding.

Good Sunday morning! It's going to be a lovely day here! Drew is having a pal over this afternoon and then we'll go to our town's Halloween party this evening!

Enjoy the movie, Bon! We saw it yesterday and loved it! :thumbsup2

Yup! Lots and lots of keg parties! And no, for the most part the credits wouldn't transfer directly b/c the "quarter" credits only make up 2/3 of the "semester" credits. You don't get credit for taking 2/3 of an English course for example-- so they just put the credits toward my electives and then I have to take the same English class over again.

Happens even to people who haven't taken time off. It SUCKS! Higher education institutions need to get their acts together and have a universal system!!! (ok, stepping off soapbox now)

Rats!! Just got back from library (studying  ), and promised to take the munchkins to the park. Riley is sleeping right now, but should be up soon... They really need to get outside & run around!

Hope ya had a good time at the movie!!!:thumbsup2

No worries, Shannon! We ended up going with some other peeps, but just so's you know...they were our SECOND choice, after you. ;)

Crap, it's already Monday again tomorrow. Geez, this weekend flew by! I did get a lot of stuff done for work, so that's one good thing! Heather's birthday is this week...she's gonna be FOURTEEN! I haven't gotten her present yet!
