Getting ready for another overnight trip.......I am ready to spend a weekend at home!

Ok, I have a situation that is bugging me. Tell me if I am being witchy...

DD's pom competition is Sat. (thank God, no more practices!) So we are driving down to OKC tomorrow afternoon and spending the night because we have to leave the hotel room at 7:30 in the morning to get to the competition. The sponsors booked a block of rooms at a Holiday Inn and I called and reserved my room several weeks ago. Well, I get a call from another kid's mom wanting to know if it is ok if her child goes with us and stays in our room. I said OK, because I was on the spot. But she has NEVER met me. Ever. And the girls have to have their hair done a certain way, which is a pain, but now I am doing 2 girls' hair.

Would you let your child go 2 hours away and spend the night in a hotel room with someone you didn't know? It is really bugging me....

I am going to tell you all mine came on Tuesday I think and she put her name on the return label....(no biggie) but she has not been on the DIS since I think we said YES, let's do the exchange....I hope she comes to the party!!!

I don't know. I guess if the mom doesn't care though, don't worry about it.

I am going to guess, she probably feels like she knows you based on the fact you are all in this competition together and she has probably heard your DD's name as well as YOURS...heck, she could have called any of the parents going BUT she called you....because she knows you are the TOPS when it comes to going to these comp's with your DD as well as all the practices...do you think?

Don't let it bug you...what do you know of this family? Is the mom and dad too busy to go....did she have a solid reason why she could not go?

Honestly, it would bug me, too. I hate to say it, but people are weird today and will sue at the drop of a hat. It's sad that we even have to worry about stuff like that, but I wouldn't want the liability and responsibility of worrying about someone's kid. It's not like it's a friend of yours....that would be different. So, my answer is NO, you're not being witchy.
