Bye bye!!! Sorry, I think I forgot your name. Speaking of fences blowing down, when I was 5 I was TERRIFIED when that happened to the fences in the backyard of my house. I don't know why though. :confused3

I work for a company that owns 8 funeral homes in the Reno/Sparks area. 5 of them are full service, 3 are cremation societies. I work in a cremation society. They did some cut backs recently and now only one person is at each cremation society. So I work all alone. :sad2: ;) ....I meet with families and do all the paperwork involved like death certificates, calling doctors to see if they'll sign, send obituaries to the paper, etc...I also help clean this location. That's always fun. ;) ....I guess it's good when business is slow here. :confused3
Interesting. How long have you been doing it?

Big wind and rain. 114 mph winds were clocked on the beach. I work at the beach and I couldn't get to work on Friday due to all the downed trees. They didn't even get power until late yesterday.
WOW...that sounds pretty rough.

For three and a half years. I started in 2003. A year later the company sold that location and the current company I work for bought it. ...I went to mortuary college in Mesa, AZ in 2001-2002 to become an embalmer. I don't have an embalmer's license. I would like to get one eventually. :thumbsup2

:furious: Ok, does anyone know WHEN these annoying white screens are going to STOP showing up whenever you try to post? And if the administrator knows that it annoys people that they can't post more than one message every 40 seconds, then why don't they make it to where they can do as many as they want no matter how much time between them? :furious: .....Sorry, I just had to get that off my mind. ;)

What made you want to do that for a career? I am one of those squeamish people...I couldn't be a doctor, or nurse or even a hairstylist - I hate touching peoples hair  Yeah I'm a weirdo :sad2: ...whats funny is I do residential house cleaning and I see some pretty gross stuff but it doesn't bother me :confused3

I like to help people in a time of need. I've known since I was 8 years old (I'm 27 now) that I wanted to do this, and it fits my personality. When I was younger I use to love visiting cemeteries. I always found them to be so peaceful. I'd still go to them now if I had the time. I understand why a lot of people couldn't do what I do. At one time earlier in my life when I was a senior in high school I was debating on becoming a funeral director or paramedic. I knew I couldn't stomach the big sight of blood if the person was alive, but if they're dead I know they're not in pain...Ok, maybe I was getting too graphic there, sorry. ...So, what's it like being a housekeeper? I'd like to hear about some of the dumps you've had to clean. :goodvibes

Well I think thats a good thing, someone has to do the job and it should be someone who likes it . I think its really nice that you want to comfort people when they need to most.

Cleaning ...well its a gross, hard job and almost no one appreciates you. :sad2: The sad thing is all the people I work for have money and really nice homes but they don't take care of them and trash them...not all of them but some. The older people tend to be easier to work for. Its the single men and the ones with multiple pets that are rough.....I have this one guy :sad2: Lets just say he couldn't hit the broad side of a barn when he pees.....I finally told him to throw his bath rugs away because they smelled so bad :scared: no amount of bleach could fix it....

And once...I slipped in a pile of dog poo..jerked my foot up and stuck the other one in a pile of poo.....in someones living room. :sad2: And we are talking a really nice house...and she let her dogs use the rug in the living room for a poo station. I left her a note and it hasn't happened again...I hope I embarrassed her...It was from a huge dog too.

I hate to run out and leave you all alone :guilty: but DH is waiting on me for food. It was nice chatting with you and I won't forget what you do for work this time. :) Have a great day and I will catch you later :goodvibes

:confused3 If it makes you feel any better I once stepped in a pile of my SIL's dog's poo(in bare feet) when he was staying with us. I was like this :furious: when it happened. The poor dog was in the room with me and ran downstairs when I yelled. He's potty trained, but was angry at his owners for leaving him.

That's too bad. :confused3 Just so you know, I really appreciate housecleaners. I don't have one(DH says he doesn't want one and that he could do it all himself. Well, he's doing better at it. ). I know it takes a lot of patience and hard work to clean homes. :goodvibes

Hello Teresa. I thought you might run out of quotes to talk to. :teeth:

:rotfl2: Hi there Paige. How's your Saturday going? It's already 11:20. I've been in the office since 8 and the phone hasn't rang once. I haven't had ANY candy in the bowl for a whole week. I'm so proud of myself. :teeth: Anything exciting planned for today? :goodvibes

I am in my bathrobe playing WPASADI. I just had a bowl of tomato soup.............that and tea are all I've had today.

Dh said something about going out for lunch, but he's gone back to bed. So your guess is as good as mine about whether he'll get up again.

Oh, and it's 1:20 here.
