The LUCKY Muffin Spoke to Me - Halloween at WDW & Summer 2011 at DLR - 01/09/11

But, I'm always looking for some new suggestions, so if you have any favorite items at any QS places, please let me know!

I love Casey's, Sunshine Seasons, and Flame Tree BBQ. I'd love to know of anything else that you think is a staple to WDW that I need to make sure we go to for DH to experience!

Yay! You have ADRs! I can't imagine going without at least 1 ADR! Last year pre-trip, we only made 1 ADR at Brown Derby for the Fantastmic package, but we ended up making 2 more after we got to Disney - 1 at Biergarten and 1 at Chefs de France the day we wanted to go! popcorn::

My favorite QS places are at the WS in Epcot, as you can take your pick of any cuisine depending on your mood! But I also LOVE Sunshine Seasons as they have so many things you can pick from!

Great deal on your DVC resorts! :woohoo: Do you mind me asking who is your DVC contact? I am looking to rent points for next year but I am not sure how to go about doing it...

Hahaha! DH fell right into your trap! That is hilarious! :rotfl: I really like Columbia Harbor House at MK. That is one of my favorite QS places. The fried fish basket is soooo good! :lovestruc

We like to eat at QS place in DHS that is near ToT...I think it's Fairfax Fare? Not quite sure, but we love to sit there and look at ToT while we eat. It gets us so excited to ride!

We did only QS on our last trip to Disney in October and did it in August. ...actually Scratch that. We had 1 sit down dinner on each trip. Other than that though, all QS, so I have lots of info in those 2 dining reports!

My favorite QS places at each park are Yak & Yeti Local Foods at AK, Columbia Harbor House at MK, Starring Rolls at HS, and Tangierene Cafe in Morocco at Epcot. There's a lot that's good in Epcot, but we love the combo platters at the Tangierene Cafe...tons of food, so be sure to split one!

You have to try The Plaza for me sweetie! hehehe

We eat a lot at Counter Services (or Quick service) but aren't not doing ADRs anymore.

Whew! You had me scared when you said you had no ADRs! I'm so glad you made a couple! I think making ADRs is my favorite part of planning! There are just so many places I want to eat and not enough time!

As far as my favorite QS places....

MK:
Columbia Harbour House
El Pirata y El Perico (although in 8 trips it was only open ONCE )

AK & DHS:
I think I'm the only person in the entire world who actually LIKES the pizza at WDW QS spots.... So I will have to say Pizzafari and Pizza Planet. We ordered a couple pizzas delivered to our room back in 2006 from the cafeteria at All Star Movies and they were N-A-S-T-Y! :crazy2: The little personal pizzas from Pizzafari and Pizza Planet are my favorite! Especially when you dip the crust in the Italian salad dressing! :thumbsup2

Epcot:
Honestly...We have gone to WDW 3 times during the F & W Festival so that's the only "QS" I can remember eating. The American Adventure Pavilion was NOT good when we ate there in March 2008.... really just....not good. My favorite spots during F & W are Italy (strictly for gelado which is not really a meal but it's like 90 degrees and it's delicious so I needed to mention it), San Juan, and Buenos Aires. Oh - although the sandwiches at Kringla Bakeri in Norway are dang good too! :thumbsup2

At this time in 139 days...we'll be getting ready for MNSSHP! :woohoo::woohoo:

We were there during Pop Warner last year and didn't even see any of them. I'd definitely go back during that time!

I'd like to go during that time, but it just seems like I'd be taking a huge chance, with crowds, and weather...last November, I was freaking out, thinking there would be some huge snowstorm and our flights would get cancelled, and it usually doesn't snow too bad in November up here...but December would really worry me! I do eventually want to go in December, I have to see the Candlelight Processional one time in my life, but for now, November is good enough! And I explained Pop Warner week to my DH and he basically told me there is no way he would ever go during that week...oh well! :confused3 :rotfl:

Yay so happy you made some ADR's!!! I've always wanted to try Boma, but again, DH has no interest in it, which is weird, because he's so much more adventurous when it comes to food than I am!

A QS place I tried on my Disneymoon that I loved was the little fish and chips place right next to Rose and Crown in Epcot. I don't know if you like fish and chips, but if you do, go there, it's fantastic! :cool1:

Welcome!! Where will you be staying??
We booked a Beach Club Villa. We LOVE it there and thought that it would be very convenient since we will be there during F&W.

DH and DF ate at Biergarten one night on our last trip and loved it! I'm just not sure about making an Epcot ADR since we'll be doing F&W, although I really want to try that one! Think, think, think. (Pooh bear style!)

Have you had the strawberry shortcake from Sunshine Seasons? It's fan-tab-u-lous!!!

Shoot me a PM and I'll get his name to you. I'm not sure if he has any more points left, but it's worth a shot. I did a lot of research and definitely trust him!

I love CHH, too!!! (For the same reason - the fried fish.) We ate there on our honeymoon, but DH "doesn't do" fried fish. We might be one of those couples that gets meals from two separate places and finds somewhere to plant ourselves to eat. Mmm, fried fish basket....

I'll have to look in to that one! We don't have anywhere picked out for dinner at DHS! Thanks for the suggestion!!! (BTW, have you heard about the new effects at TOT? They're supposed to be summer only, but hopefully they'll make them permanent!)

I've never tried Starring Rolls or Tangierene Cafe. I've heard mediocre things about food at DHS, but am loving the suggestions on here! Does SR have good breakfast options??

You have to try The Plaza for me sweetie! hehehe

We eat a lot at Counter Services (or Quick service) but aren't not doing ADRs anymore.

I may try to squeeze in the Plaze. Our MK day is going to be a bit rushed with our current plans, so that's my only hesitation. Do they book pretty quickly? I'm wondering if I should make something and cancel if I need to later on.

I'm actually a fan of the pizza too; maybe we're both just crazy? Or, I think WDW just gets me excited about anything. I'd probably eat a chocolate-covered-stick if they sold it and said it was good. :lmao:

Thanks for the F&W Festival suggestions!! I love, love, love gelato! My dad's family is Italian, so I'm beyond addicted and the closest place to us is almost an hour away. I might be living at that stand. :rolleyes1

I'd like to go during that time, but it just seems like I'd be taking a huge chance, with crowds, and weather...last November, I was freaking out, thinking there would be some huge snowstorm and our flights would get cancelled, and it usually doesn't snow too bad in November up here...but December would really worry me! CP is so pretty! I've been lucky enough to go to two of them! I have the one from November on tape; so, so pretty!!

I want to try that place at Epcot! Like I told another poster above, DH doesn't eat fish, though. He might be on his own this year!!!

We really wanted our second half of our stay to be at BCV!! We've been there for Cape May Cafe's breakfast before and loved it. Oh well, there's always an excuse to go back. :woohoo:

We went from 12/1 - 12/10 back in 2006. It was my birthday trip so when we found out it was Pop Warner week, we just decided to stick it out. It turned out to be one of our best trips!

The PW kids are in competitions practically all day, with the exception of Friday which is their free day. They usually spend the whole day at DHS that day. They also stay mostly at the All Stars.... We were staying at ASMo and only saw them in the cafeteria once during the entire week. I remember they were up and out quite early. We did see them one night leaving Epcot, and that was it. We seriously NEVER saw them.

Because a lot of people specifically avoid going to WDW during this week, the parks were not crowded at all! We had PERFECT weather the whole week, and almost every ride was a walk-on.

EDITED: DH wants me to add that he knows what ADR means (after he just looked it up) and he wasn't against any ADRs. He's joined the boards just to point that out, so we'll see if he figures out how to post. Haha.
For the record I do know how to post for all of you who didn't think I would be able to figure it out...(I do not feel it matters if a particular disboard member gave me a quick tutorial or anything I mean we are a team after all!)

And Yay Vacation, YAy ADR's, YAY DISNEY!!!!!

Less than five months to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :cool1: *happy dance*

Definitely agree. I was so worried about it last December, and you know what I just realized? I never saw any of them! We were at a value, too. (Pop!) I was too busy with everything else to even pay attention, but it literally just hit me that we didn't cross paths with any of them.

Definitely agree about the lines, too. We walked on to everything. I think the longest we waited for anything was 10 minutes for TOT, and that was because it broke down. Other than that, we walked on to everything else. The weather was a little crappy a few days, but I've read that it wasn't normal weather for that time of the year.

It was a great time to go!

i was planning on doing the whole "no adr" thing this trip .. but, like you, i ended up booking a few ADR's and sci-fi is one on mine too! :wizard: im really trying to book less ADR's coz (especially at resorts!) coz it takes so much time away from the parks! i cant wait to hear more about your trip and im SUBBING NOW! :wizard:

Ok you guys need to stop telling me how great Pop Warner week is because I'm really close to changing my dates...the only thing holding me back is it will add another 3 weeks of waiting for my trip! And DH would be mad...but I could always not tell him it's THIS week...

I'm gonna go see how much $$$ I'd save by switching to value season from regular!

UPDATE: I checked prices and I'd save $500...which would be great, but I just did a search on the DIS and no one has anything good to say about going during this week! I'd rather not chance it, I guess I'll just stick with my week in November!

Hi!! I am going to WDW in December--11th-16th. What dates did you research with bad reviews? I know my time is a Value season and we are going super cheap with a 40% off code. Just looking for ANY advice for Christmas I can get!! I am excited to read how you like MVMCP too (HeatherBelle) !!popcorn::

Lol don't worry, you should be safe, Pop Warner is the week before you are going! And some people say it's great, but some people say it's horrible, the kids run wild, the chaperones are drunk the whole time...I'm just not taking that chance! I'd go the week after, like you are, but it's just too close to Christmas for me! :confused3
