The LUCKY Muffin Spoke to Me - Halloween at WDW & Summer 2011 at DLR - 01/09/11

Congrats on the savanna view. I might be there. :rolleyes1

I have not bought any tickets yet for any party and I don't think I will. Think we will be skipping it this year. I think. :lmao:

Have a great weekend.

Decisions, decisions.

Haha. Have a good weekend, too!

Per our agreement, I'm subscribing!!! :)

Will post a bit more on BOTH our reports later! Have to get to work. Fun, fun, fun! :)

So excited for you that you got an AWESOME room with an AWESOME view! (can I also mention, jealous? ;) )

I'm subbing! Saw you commented on my TR and I clicked on your link over to yours! you have amazing stays planned for your trip! and you and your other half are soooooo cute together! :) loved your pink attire for your event, super pretty! can't wait to hear more!

Sounds like a lot of fun! You'll love your Savannah view. The wife and I had one before our cruise last May and we LOVED it!

We also did a DVC tour, which is located at Saratoga Springs. It's REALLY charming and beautiful. You'll love it!

The Halloween Party is tons of fun too. We've done it twice now, and I'm a bit down about missing it this year. Just be sure you don't miss the special parade and fireworks!!! :)

I am beyond excited to post this:

October 23 (check-in) - October 27 (check-out): AKV, studio, SAVANNAH view!!!
October 27 (check-in) - October 30 (check-out): SSR, studio

I know nothing about SSR, so I've been researching and am debating if I want to put in a room request since they don't have a difference between preferred or standard view. It wasn't our first choice on the list we made either, but from what I've been looking at, it looks beautiful and it'll be nice to be so close to DTD!

This has been me the last few days: :cool1::cool1::cool1::yay::yay::yay::cool1::cool1::cool1:

So excited for you!!! Can't wait to see pictures!

Hi, I'm joining in, I'm loving reading about your plans for your Halloween trip so far! I just got back from my Disneymoon a few weeks ago and I'm in the process of finishing up my first TR for that, but I'm going back in mid November and am going to be starting a PTR for that shortly! November is my favorite time to go right now, but I would love to take a Halloween trip sometime to go to MNSSHP and the Food and Wine fest! :)

Savannah view?! Congratulations!!!!! :cheer2::wizard:

Good on the other resort too. Hope you guys have fun. Ken and I are going to the party. We are going on the 29th I think. Gonna see WWOHP that day. Soo looking forward to the cruise.

Keep the good news coming! And listen to that muffin...it's got it goin on. LOL.

Hi! I'm going to head over to your PTR, too.

I'd love to do a DIS meet!! Maybe some of our plans will overlap a bit! I haven't posted my details, but I'll go see if you have yours up yet!

Have you gone to MNSSHP before? This will be our first time; I'm so excited! I hope we can fit everything that we want to do in that night. I have no plans to ride any rides that night, so hopefully it'll work out!! Are you going to dress up?

Thanks for stopping by my PTR!

If you find that any of your plans overlap with ours, let me know! We can definitely meet up! :thumbsup2

I have done MNSSHP before...once in 2007 and twice in 2009. It's a BLAST! SOO much fun! And the MK looks absolutely AMAZING! They completely transform the MK, Hallowishes is my FAVORITE fireworks (next to Illuminations) and Boo To You is my FAVORITE parade! I don't generally sit to watch parades anymore...once you've seen them, you've seen them...and I've found that when people are watching parades, that means they aren't riding rides or eating TS meals...so we have gotten pretty lucky with planning around them. But people traveling with me can not miss Boo-To-You. I even recorded it in 2007 and I secretly watch it on my computer sometimes. And I have the music from both that and Hallowishes on my iPod. Have I mentioned how much I LOVE the Halloween Party??? We won't be dressing up for the party on the 19th, but we will probably wear costumes on the 26th. Just not sure what yet. I was thinking Mafia...but pants and a button down jacket....not sure about that. It was over 90 degrees during the day when we were there last year and our second night at the Halloween Party was close to 90. So I have to keep brainstorming.

I am liking SSR the more I look at it; I need to check out the eating options for breakfast over at DTD since they seem pretty limited at the resort, though. Something else to plan!

So excited for you!!! Can't wait to see pictures!

Thank you!!!

I will have to go check out your TR! Did you have a fantastic Disneymoon? We adored ours (obviously, DH wants to keep going back. Haha.)

I'd love to go in November one of these years, too. I've heard the weather and crowds are great (until the holiday season kicks in.)

Savannah view?! Congratulations!!!!! :cheer2::wizard:

I know. I shouldn't have listened to DH, though. He wouldn't let me save it in the freezer until after the trip. Haha.

I'm so excited about WWOHP, too!! Have you seen that new video the boards posted??

I am with you on the parades, but definitely plan on watching the Halloween fireworks and parade. That's what I'm most excited about.

I've heard it can be really, really hot in October. I have costumes picked out, so we'll see if we can pull them off!!

You have me even more excited about the party! :cool1:

There's not too much in the way of breakfast at Downtown Disney.

I know Earl of Sandwich does breakfast. And if their breakfast is ANYTHING like their lunch or dinner? RUN - don't walk to the Earl! LOVE this place! They take the DDP, quick service credit, if you're using it.

Wolfgang Puck Express (Marketplace - not West Side) serves breakfast and will take the dining plan - quick service credit.

House of Blues serves breakfast - but they don't take the dining plan.

Haven't eaten at ANY of these places for breakfast, so I can't comment, but I'm pretty sure those are the only ones that serve breakfast.

What you could also do is use an online grocery store to have some food delivered to your room. Mostly non-perishables, but you could get some milk for cereal and some juice.

Haven't used any myself, but I've seen some good recommendations for:

NetGrocer.com
GardenGrocer.com

Hope that helps! :)

I had no clue that EoS does breakfast....YUM! I love that place! That sounds like the place to go if you are looking for breakfast at DTD!

I've heard WPE is great for breakfast. I tried to find an EoS breakfast menu and haven't had any luck yet. I wonder what time they open.

I may not even need to find a breakfast location at SSR; it'll depend on if we get up for rope drop on the days we are at that resort. Just like to have some ideas in advance.

Thanks!

I'll definitely have to check it out. I've never eaten there at all, so it's on my must-do list!

I know you posted not too long ago; if you're still online, you should open chat on Facebook! :goodvibes

I am finally caught up again! I had to go on a field trip with my class for a week, then we did a short trip to DLRP and now I am trying to catch up!

WPE is wonderful for breakfast!
We always have breakfast there - here are the links to my two latest visits:

Mmmm, I love EoS, I want to go there for Breakfast one day but DTD is such a pain to get to, it just never happens! Although that WPE breakfast menu looks pretty good too...Crispy Corn Flake French Toast? Yum! :)

Oh, and November is a GREAT time to visit, definitely my favorite right now! I want to try December, but I can't bring myself to do it, between more and more people going that month, the parade taping, and the Pop Warner kids, I would just rather stick with November and start my Christmas season early! :cool1:

I'm so excited about WWOHP, too!! Have you seen that new video the boards posted??

I want to watch the video sooo bad but I don't want to ruin it! I want to walk into WWOHP and see it for the first time in person. I was planning to go with friends when I go down in July but when my DBR23 found out about it he asked if I could wait and go with him during our WDW trip in October. He wants the experience to be the first for both of us which is so sweet! He wasn't into reading all that much when he was younger and I bought him his first HP book and he was instantly hooked. My mom would think he was asleep and find him still up at 1am reading! We have seen all the movies together and went to a few midnight madness book releases at Chapters too.

Now I have to figure out which day of the trip we're going to WWOHP! It only seems to fit into the day before we leave but it feels strange going to Universal on the last day of our WDW trip! What do you think? Almost feels like I'm cheating on Mickey lol. :)

It looks amazing! But we might go another year. We are going to be there 1 month after it happens. It already looks like madness. I don't want madness this year. Had too much in my life hehe

I had to join in, too! We'll be at the world from 10/23-10/31. I can't wait! We have never gone in October before.

We were there during Pop Warner last year and didn't even see any of them. I'd definitely go back during that time!

I agree about DTD being a pain to get to, especially for breakfast! I'm hoping that'll be a lot easier to do this time since we'll be at SSR for a few days!

I am finally caught up again! I had to go on a field trip with my class for a week, then we did a short trip to DLRP and now I am trying to catch up!

Thanks so much for the info! I need to figure out what time EOS opens there. I think WPE might be too late since we're wanting to get to the parks when they open. EOS looks great too, though!!

Heather, I can't stop thinking about those dang zebra domes now............

I'll have to go hide my head in shame, but I have never had one. I have a feeling I'll need to stock-pile them in our mini-fridge!!!

I tried not to watch the video, but I couldn't help it. Woops. I think there will still be a ton of surprises!

I am obsessed with the books, too. We go to the midnight showings of the movies when they come out!

Nah, you aren't cheating on Mickey. You're returning there that night, right? So you're still going home to him. ;)

It looks amazing! But we might go another year. We are going to be there 1 month after it happens. It already looks like madness. I don't want madness this year. Had too much in my life hehe

It will definitely be crowded this summer! I'm hoping that my saving grace will be that we're there in the fall before the Thanksgiving crowds start to hit!

I had to join in, too! We'll be at the world from 10/23-10/31. I can't wait! We have never gone in October before.

Welcome!! Where will you be staying??

The day we booked our trip, DH looked at me and said "Let's try all QS places this time." He has never eaten at most of them since we typically have at least one ADR booked every day of our trips, and there are some QS places that he's had his eye on.

:scared1:

Ok, ok. So I agreed. I know he's great about loving WDW as much as I do, and I want him to experience things that he's never gotten to do. But no ADRs? Ugh.

Then, out of the blue last week, he says "Sci-Fi? That's a reservation place, right?" I asked him you mean an ADR? He said "Yeah, that Disney speak stuff for reservation." I told that him yes, we would need an ADR.

He got this thoughtful look on his face and said "Well, you should book one of those for there because I can't go to WDW without eating one of their burgers!"

My heart jumped for joy, and within 2 minutes of that conversation, I had the exact time and date that I wanted for our DHS day! :cool1:

So skip forward a couple of days, and DH is looking at AKV info with me after we got our confirmation from the DVC owner. He was looking at Boma's breakfast menu and some pictures that I just so happened to pull up on the Food Porn thread, and he again asks "Is that another reservation place?"

After another explanation of the term ADR and another 2 minutes later, I had a confirmation number for Boma's breakfast for the date and time that I wanted. :cool1:

Ha, ha, DH, ha, ha. Way to fall in to my ADR trap! I think those will be the only two we make, though. We're planning a day at WWoHP and one day just eating at F&W Festival.

But, I'm always looking for some new suggestions, so if you have any favorite items at any QS places, please let me know!

I love Casey's, Sunshine Seasons, and Flame Tree BBQ. I'd love to know of anything else that you think is a staple to WDW that I need to make sure we go to for DH to experience!

EDITED: DH wants me to add that he knows what ADR means (after he just looked it up) and he wasn't against any ADRs. He's joined the boards just to point that out, so we'll see if he figures out how to post. Haha.
