I SO wanted to plan a trip for this fall but it looks like we are going next Fall instead :sad2: Sad about it BUT as of August we will be completely DEBT FREE other than our mortgage!!!! And looking at it that way we will also be able to pay for the trip with CASH!!! So I guess it's a good trade off :guilty:

Way to go you Budget Boarder you! I would say that the peace of mind will be priceless. Disney will always be there.

We were in serious financial problems 2 years ago May and I have been working hard at getting all of it cleared up/paid off. I'm talking to the tune of about 40K including the car in debt but not the Mortgage :scared1: I pay the bills and DH is oblivious to the cost of stuff - I do 99.9% of the shopping - so he really had no clue. Alot of it was due to the fact that when we had kids 6/7 years ago I quit my major job and took a 35K a year cut. We knew we were going to do it but didn't really change our lifestyle either. So quickly and easily the bills mount up and I had to take a long hard look at the direction we were heading then. Busting our butts, DH has been getting some good OT, and I went back to couponing and stopping the "frivolous" spending we have been able to get back on track. We only have 85K left on our mortgage too so I am definitely feeling less pressure on my shoulders.

Any losers still around or all you all out being winners this morning? I am fantasizing over booking a free dining trip, knowing that I just can't do it. Sigh! ANyone else going to go then (besides you, Linty)?

I did only laundry over the weekend so I have my work cut out for me on the rest of the house today. I need to get the dog hair off the floor before I go nuts. Also, why does the mirror in my kids' bathroom always look like someone's been at it with a water gun or something? There are long streaks traveling down the mirror in several places--it's not like it's jst a few spots above the sink. How do they do that?:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

I just booked for early December :yay: I can't wait!

I was a real winner this weekend..well sunday actually- I did all the clothes, the sheets, dusted ceiling fans and base boards, swepted, moped, windexed.... I'm getting sick just thinking of it. Thank goodness I won't have to do that again for a few weeks. My husband said that when we move we can get someone to come once a month to do the heavy duty cleaning:yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: His idea-not mine...but I love it!

I think we will start to volunteer there. I should be doing that on my mornings I am kid free. They said Mr. Middle could come in and help too, as long as I was there too.

Awww thats a great idea!! Congrats on the cat!

That is so great! I can only imagine the pressure you were feeling. What a difference you have made in 2 years too. I bet everyone can breathe a little easier now.

We love OT at our house too. We just throw half of it into savings and half of it at the credit card. I have stopped carrying it and it has made a world of difference for me. I didn't think I really spent that much, I was nickle and diming us to death. We don't have much left to go before we have paid it completely off. My husband is thrilled. I feel pretty good too.

We are going to Disneyland for Mr. No Fear's 5th birthday. I am looking forward to being able to pay cash for that. I am also looking forward to enjoying a great trip without the dread of bills on the other end of it. We are waiting until he is 5 because then he will be tall enough to ride all of the wild rides.

I'm still being loserish, but only till the coffee kicks in. Then I have to get the house cleaned up alittle cause they are coming to switch the light bulbs out tomorrow. Don't want them tripping over the thousands of Rescue Heroes that have made the living room floor their base of operation.
We still have all those Rescue Heroes. I hate to do it, but it I think it's time to pare down. Anyone wasnt a Rescue Hero aircraft carrier set?

Yay:cheer2: on the debt-free! it feels good, doesn't it? I am trying to figure out how i can cut more from my budget and get a WDW trip sooner than the planned 2010. I'm thinking next April ffor the kids' spring break right now, if I can talk DH into it. I guess I need to get myself a job....

I think Natalie asked about the breed, but I forgot to quote. She's a Shih Tzu. We've never had small dogs before, but we just love her. She's so funny and puppy-like. Its great.

I have 4 Shih Tzu sisters -- they are a ton of fun and always keep you on your toes!!!!!:goodvibes

Good morning, losers!!!!! Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!! I had a totally loser one so I must get something done today!!!;) Just checking in---you all were busy this weekend!! Still trying to catch up!!!:goodvibes

Aren't you job hunting? I thought you had an interview.

I don't want your Rescue Hero's but do you have any Where's Waldo books or I Spy ones that your kids don't use? I am trying to get Mr. Middle to stay with me during church. He sits pretty well for while but gets bored, he really likes those kind of books though.:rolleyes1

I got DS a highlights subscription from Santa last year because it keeps him occupied for Dr's visits and other areas they need to be quiet but want something to do. It comes monthly so new stuff each month and there is the picture search in that mag.

Maybe I should get him a Ranger Rick subscription. He likes animals. We have tried Highlights and he is just not interested. He can't read yet, he just likes to look at pictures.

No--just heard of a job opening as a para. Haven't heard whether it is even still available. Which reminds me, I've got to call that lady since she didn't reply to my email. I hate when they ask you to email and then don't reply. A friend told me that most likely my email went into spam folder anyway. Why bother?

I have no Waldo book but will check our library bookstore. I see them there occasionally and they're 25-50cents. I have a pile to donate so I'll check when I go--maybe this week.

We may be going to Fremont this weekend to take DD to a confirmation retreat. Is there anything up there to do/see? We've only been once--year ago when Thomas the Tank Engine made a visit. Other times we've driven by on the way to DH families up around Wayne, etc so never stopped. We might all go if there were something we could do, other wise a couple hours(round trip) in the car with DS won't be worth it:headache: and one of us will stay home.

Back from the outlets...

I got a skirt and pant outfit at Chicos

Two pairs of shoes

Two bras

and

A new Leather purse.

Good Morning(?) Losers!! Today is the first day of spring break, and I celebrated by sleeping until 9:30 after a brief awakening to make DH's lunch and breakfast ( micro oatmeal:goodvibes ). I don't know if I am refreshed or still sleepy, my crud that is gone for the most part comes back at night with coughing. I have to take a sinus tablet and put part of a Hall's cough drop in my mouth to get to sleep. It's a wonder I dont' choke on it, but I don't.

I made a kennel reservation for Slobbermouth and Little Joe today, we may go to the "other" parks for a long weekend in May.. Last year I bought annual passes with an extra year free, so I am trying to get my money's worth. I also made an appointment for Slobbermouth, he has issues at both ends lately...:scared:

I am doing laundry today, and the last finished on the bathroom..I finished organizing/throwing out all the old stuff-meds, lotions, shampoos, etc...and the closet looks close to winnerdom...Close to a 1 on the cleancom. The only way I can approach that number is by one room at a time..never will all rooms be there at the same time!

I have nothing witty or interesting to add to the thread today. Someone find a troll thread, or a puddin/pie thread, or start something interesting. I need to have a little fun today..

CUL8R...

So are you going to model your new outfits for us? :)

I need to go shoe shopping, too. I wear 10W or 11 so I feel your pain, if only a little. DD is a 9 and I keep wishing her feet will grow so we can share shoes.

Success!! That was quick, you must be a powershopper!

I am thinking of going to look at new purses..I am still REALLY bummed that the lowlifes got my new Coach bag. I saw some Dooney and Bourke bags marked down at Dillard's last week, before my incident. So I didn't really check them out with buying in mind. I HATE CRIMINALS!!!

I checked on what they did with my Debit card today. Only 3 stops at gas stations, total $142.XX. The bank is in the process of crediting it back to my account, so not so bad. What idiot criminals..they get three hits at gas stations before the bank puts an automatic hold on the card. One of their charges was $4.23...probably for cigarettes...I guess they ran out of cars to fill with gas...

DS5 loves his Nick Jr subscription, he will look at that in church, Or he really likes lift the flap books or ones that make him do somthing but are quiet. I found two Dr Suess book like that that went into his Easter basket.

It keeps him quiet and it works on the fine motor skills Bonus!

We are trying to get him more involved but doing it slowly.

HRH did your son decide on his animal for his project yet?
