I'm locked in the hollow mountain studying for my July boards test, and I need a break so I'll do a movie review.

Lilo and Stitch the movie.

Trust me on this kids go see it. We went to the midnight showing, the only problem it was over and I was really getting into it.

The characters are loveable, the story line was great no violence, well not much anyway.

A little girl got punched and bitten, but hey it was my popcorn... Relax Lauri put the edit button away, it was my granddaughter I'm allowed to punch and bite them.

Now if you're an adult and don't want to see it thinking naaaaa it's a kids movie, well think again, its for all young and old.

It took 5 years to make and it was worth the wait.

So if you don't want to go cause you feel out of place without any kids to take, then just go rent a few and watch the movie.

So I give it 2 thumbs up if you're a human, 4 thumbs up it you a genetically enhanced person, or galactic mutation of some sort.

I did think the Disney gift shop they had set up at the exit of the movie theatre was a bit much though. I mean really all they had was Pirates of the Caribbean, it's a small world stuff.

Hey guys,
I sent the Chef to Muvico early yesterday to buy the 8 tickets. Dana (Glitterwings) and her family, and our friend Jim (FLCPA92) joined us for a fun-filled evening of family entertainment. We all dressed up in our Hawaiian shirts, Jim brought lei's for everyone. It was very festive with an Elvis Impersonator as well as a Polynesian show out front. The guys were dancing in teeny-tiny diaper-looking numbers and the girls had coconut shell bathing suit-type tops and grass skirts which left very little to the imagination. I had a Vodka-cranberry roadie in the car on the way there so I was digging the whole scene. I accosted the first hawaiian-shirted employee I saw because he was wearing a Lilo & Stitch button. Of course, I demanded he give it to me immediately. Turns out he was a Promo-dude and must've recognized me from the picture of me posted in all Disney employee areas ever since the AK event's "Priveval Whirl incident". He pulled a bag out of his pocket and I walked away happy with three buttons--the square one with a picture of Stitch and "Lost Puppy" as the caption was the cutest. We got in line outside theater #11 and proceeded to make a spectacle of ourselves, just like we do at the pin events. Dana's coconut shell purse was a hit. When they finally let us in, we took over an entire row of stadium seating in the choice upper/center area. I initiated a conversation with the four-year old in the seat in front of me and almost talked him into sharing his chicken tenders and fries with me when Mom intervened---she was a little uptight. Anyway, the previews were great and the movie was the BEST Disney animated feature I have seen in a VERY long time. I think it was even better than Monster's, Inc. The watercolor-background animation of the island and beach scenery was beautifully done. The characters were funny and story was great and touching without being too much of a tear-jerker. We all LOVED it.
How's THAT for a review!

My son, who generally says "I don't want to go to the theater" when I offer to take him has said he wants to go BACK to see Lilo & Stitch. So, we're leaving my daughter with my parents tomorrow and the 3 of us are going to see it. Him for his second time, me for the 2nd time for the first 30minutes first time for the rest of it (grin), and my hubby for his first time all around. :)

We went w/ Lauree and Family to the late show..by then all the scantily clad girls and the Elvis impersonator had gone home, (poor guys they lost out)..but how much fun would it have been if our group had joined your group..Muvico would have had to shut down..Maybe we can make up for it this week end at the SSE..most of our cruise buddies will be here too, along w/ the ones who wished they could've gone..
See you guys soon..

Donna

PS Brooke is looking for Dillon, wants to know about the phone number on the popsicle stick..I think he is going to have some 'splainin'to do

We saw it last night at 9:50pm, so not many kids at the screening. We really, really liked it. I just love Stitch! I'm having surgery on Tuesday morning, and my friends got me a stuffed stitch for my hospital room.(I can see the nurses now...) I think this movie was very original, and I was really blown away by the character of Lilo. It was so refreshing not to have a "Perfect" Girl as a lead.(nothing against the princesses) I think it added some realism to the family situation that they were in. I also liked the fact that to be a family doesnt mean-mommy,daddy, 2.5kids, and a pet.
Its good, its funny, and its Disney

To say the very least (stop laughing!! I know that
is really hard to do :) ), we had the best time ever!!!

Michelle really said everything in a "coconut shell" :)
But we had a GREAT time as always!!
""We even got special drinking glasses just with
Michelle in mind""" she loves her cosmo's :)

We can not wait to see everyone this weekend,
and YES Donna, could you imagine all of us hitting
that Muvico!!! But that is what we are known for
and WE LOVE IT!!!!!!!

My favorite part is the way Stitch climbs all over
the place soooooo fast!! And the best thing ever
is that now we know what he means when he
is saying everything in our Disney Store Stitch
doll!! HE IS JUST THE """"BEST""""!!

Disney really pulled through on this one and we
would love a LILO & STITCH 2!!!! GREAT HIT for
sure!!!

Dana :)

We saw it today and I thought it was great! As a warning, though, there is a scene in the beginning where they stick a big needle in Stitch to extract some of his DNA, and Rachel has been crying about it ever since. (She had the same reaction to the ear-piercing scene in the Parent Trap a couple of years ago.) We brought all our kids, and the plot is too hard to follow for a three year old (and maybe a little too violent for her) but I think for older kids (like my son, who is 10) and adults it is just a fabulous movie! Hey, any movie where an alien says "Happy Hanukkah" is for me!!

Enjoy everyone!!

All 6 of us ( me, DH and 4 kids 9, almost 7, almost 5 and 3) went to see it and loved it!!

My 3 yr old is absolutely in love with Stitch and Lilo... we have been listening to the read-a-long cassette for about 2 weeks, so I don't know if that helped her with the story line or not.. but she loved it!
At one point she was a little sad about a scene and crawled into my lap sniffling a bit... my 9 yr old leans over and asks if she is ok and she replies,
"Yes, I'm ok, I'm not sad, just my face is a little sad"

I just couldn't quit giggling after that one!

We loved it too! I am disappointed that most of the critics have been giving it poor reviews.

Raulandpinboy- I agree with you. Even if you don't have kids go and see it. There were so many references in the movie that only the adults would understand and appreciate. For example, the references to Roswell and Area 51, Elvis, record players, etc.

Did anyone else notice the Tigger and Piglet look-alikes in the opening scenes when they were tracking Stitch's escape?

One of our favorite parts of the entire movie was when Stitch created San Francisco and acted like Godzilla.

Fiver- We also loved Lilo's character. I think MANY kids will relate to her character, especially those that are less fortunate than others and/or are in a similar family situation. The scene with her doll and the girls at dance class really touched my heart Also loved the concept of family presented throughout the movie.

OK, am I the only one who envisions Raul dressed up like a Keebler Elf toiling over plans for a new cookie manufacturing wing which would help bring to bear the diabolical plans of the evil Keebler Elven king where by he will create a master race of elves that will enslave little girl scouts to sell their cookies to finance plans for world domination?

I did have a few questions, how can you tell what month a board was born? Are they like beer and have a board born on date? And what kind of test is it, does it have questions like, "if Sally has a board with 37 growth rings and Billy has a board with 41 growth rings, how many cans of pledge would it take to polish Peg Leg Pete's good leg?" And when you say you need a break, is this one of those karate things where you bust boards with your head? If so, do you ever get splinters in your eyebrows?
