What kind of incentives? I've heard about developer points, but that's about it. I'm sort of worried that they'll sell out, although it seems like they haven't sold as quickly as was originally predicted.
It won't sell out right away, don't worry! Right now you can get $5 off the purchase price plus developer's points ... but the resort has only been for sale a couple of months. Disney used to offer the best deals right away, but that changed with SSR and AKV. I bought at AKV right away and a few months later they offered DOUBLE developer's points. *sigh* FWIW, I rent my developer's points so that amount comes off my bottom line. I'll PM you more information!

People, seriously. How do I quote multiple times in the same post.

It's making me soooo sad.

It took me a long time to figure this out too...:goodvibes

Click the box with the " and + signs in the lower right hand of each post you want to quote. When you click on post, you will see quote.

This explains it...After you click on Post Reply you can respond separately to each quote. Make sure you don't type within someone elses quotes (which I have done) It gets really confusing then...;)

Of course she doesn't count! She's not SINGLE, she's ENGAGED to be married. That makes all the difference in the world.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! Silly me!!! ;) So she will only be a single Mom until she's married? hmmmm Wonder if they will wait till his Mom gets out of jail?

In other news..

11 Days!

Of course they will. They wouldn't want "Ma" Johnston in her jail duds in the wedding party pictures :scared1:.

I have made an offer in the $7 a gallon thread that the Obama worry warts can't refuse. Obviously no one will take me up on my offer, but they can't say that no one gave them an option.

Whoa, I'm really wearing my big girl pants today! I'm so excited! Thank you.

Did she mention Bristol Palin as an example?

How funny. You'd think this would be a subject republicans would stay away from right now.

Thanks for the info. I can't receive PMs until the 19th, when my unfortunate incarceration in NoPMVille ends. However, I appreciate any and all information. Which reminds me, I'm supposed to be studying or no DVC for me. How clever is my husband.

One worry I have is that in a few years my kids won't want to do go DIsney (I know, blasphemy, but you hear of it happening) and I'll be stuck with this timeshare that only me and I my husband want to use. Did you worry about that? That's probably my only concern about buying. Oh, and the crappy economy getting worse.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh! She doesn't count! The Palin's are The untouchable family value poster family...;)

:rotfl: :rotfl:

Hey...Love those multi-quotes!

My oldest DD ( 25 next week) is, and always will be, a Disney lover. Next year I am renting out my points and going on a 7 day cruise..I think if you don't wish to go, there are enough options. I paid $72 point so even after several years of great family trips I can sell for a profi,t if need be. I own at VWL but my favorite is BWV.

When I first found out about DVC, I really wanted to buy a VWL resale. I actually think my husband would prefer that, but BLT is my first choice. Also, BLT is probably the only way we could stay at the CR, because we have three kids. There is no way I can stay with all of us in a room at Disney. I know some people do it and I applaud them for having such good sleepers, but my kids would be up all night doing who knows what and no one would sleep. Heck, we had trouble in a three-bedroom condo last time (although we gave the master to my best friend so she could avoid hearing the kids all night--didn't work, poor thing was up all night too).

How long have you owned? You're lucky that your daughter is a Disney fan. What about the other kids?

Speaking of children, I just cleaned up three vomiting episodes from my daughter after preschool today, one of which was on me. And one from the cat, not on me. She's napping on fresh sheets. The cat, I tossed outside. I suppose it's too early to start drinking.;)

I just saw this on Jezebel.com:

Call the wahmbulence! In a new interview with noted (word we can't say here) John Ziegler, Sarah Palin whines about, among other things, Katie Couric ("Katie, you're not the center of everybody's universe"), Keith Olbermann and Tina Fey.

In Ziegler’s new documentary How Obama Got Elected, clips of which just went up online, the "Mama Grizzly" *****es and moans about everything from her disastrous interview with Katie Couric to Tina Fey’s portrayal of her on SNL. Palin believes that she is still subject to unfair press coverage, and asks “Is it political? Is it sexism? What is it that drives someone to believe the worst and perpetuate the worst in terms of gossip and lies?” (Speaking of lies, let us count them, shall we?)

Palin also says that Tina Fey and Katie Couric have been “exploiting” her and “capitalizing” on her fame. According to Palin, she realized that the interviews with Couric weren’t going so well half-way through and wanted to back out, but the mean old McCain campaign made her do it anyway (which seems to be her excuse for everything these days). She completely glosses over her own lack of preparation, blaming the campaign for making her look like an idiot, when really, she was the only wise one: “it was told to me that, yeah, we are going to go back for more. And going back for more was not a wise decision either.” Also, she uses the age-old excuse familiar to anyone who watches reality TV (editing!), saying CBS “spliced it together,” and that “many of the topics brought up were not portrayed as accurately as they could have, should have, been.”

Palin claims that she never saw the final interview, and when asked why she couldn’t answer Katie’s question “What newspapers do you read?” she responds: “Because, Katie, you’re not the center of everybody’s universe.” She says her answer was “flippant” (right) and that “I read newspapers! I read publications!... That’s my job.”

Palin goes on to blame even the (air quotes) mainstream media in Alaska for unfair treatment of her. She trumpets her status as a reformer, but blames the media for being too fickle and turning on her “the minute that is, that I have done something, that is, you know, back to the conservative roots… that’s when even the mainstream media in Alaska, they turn on ya. There’s so much hypocrisy in it all.” But, see, if only she had run on the Democratic ticket, then things would have been better: “Had I been chosen perhaps to run as a reformer on the Democrat ticket, we would have seen an absolutely different, and I think, if you will, a much prettier profile of Sarah Palin and the Palin family.”

So wait a minute, if she'd ran as a democrat (which is absurd, of course), she would have been viewed more favorably? And her family wouldn't have been white trash?

hahhahaha..No more child vomit for me, cat? Always..I bought in May of 2001. I was a Disney novice still. I made my first trip after my older kids had grown and my youngest was 15. I fell in love with the magic.

My son has only gone once, as a child with his Dad. My eldest and her family have come with me on a number of trips. I have gotten two studio's for her family of four and mine, two bedrooms and we cruised last August.(rented those points too) I have definately optimized the membership! :cloud9:

I own at SSR. I think I paid $75- 80 a point - I don't remember. But I am one of those heathens that uses credit cards, and gasp - takes out a mortgage to pay for a time share! Hey - its a nice tax deduction!

I bought in 2004 - then bought more in 2006 (Hey the points were on sale! LOL)

We have never stayed at SSR - always BCV, BWV and one night in December at VWL. We really love being able to walk to Epcot.

I had to buy a lot of points - my family - was 8 people - and we needed a two bedroom. Maybe one day I'll downsize or just rent out the ones I don't use......

Nothing says motherhood better then vomit covered clothes.

Personally, I am dire need of a siesta. My 4 year old has been waking up from the same nightmare for a week. She is so frightened upon awakening that it takes up to an hour to calm her down so she can fall back asleep.
She has told me the content of this nightmare each night after awakening and it seems to go the same way each time. The rabbit from the Trix cereal box is hiding in a closet. When Max (from Max & Ruby a nick Jr. cartoon) opens the closet, the rabbit jumps out and eats grandma.

Poor Norm

http://www.politico.com/blogs/glennthrush/0109/Colemans_office__Norms_out_hockey_jerseys_in.html

Norm in exile, but hockey jerseys remain

Sarah Abruzzese reports on the pathos of Norm's senatorial exile:

The lights are on in Sen. Norm Coleman’s office but no one’s home.

Coleman has been locked out of his offices in the Hart Senate Office Building and Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), who heads the Rules Committee, said she believes the doors will stay barred for the foreseeable future.

Because Coleman’s first term officially ended Saturday at noon and he has not been certified the winner of the hotly contested Minnesota Senate race, he has lost his desk on the Senate floor and been denied official office space.

While staff answered the phones on Monday, by Tuesday no one picked up. All of Coleman’s vanity photos and a framed hockey jersey are still on display but his name has been removed from the plaque outside.
Coleman can visit the Senate . Like all former members not registered as lobbyists, Coleman can visit the floor — but he'll have no place to sit.
We encountered a disconsolate-looking Coleman near a Senate elevator bank accepting back-slaps and handshakes from fellow Republicans John Cornyn (R-Texas) and Lamar Alexander (R-Tenn.).
