THE LIBERAL THREAD #3- No Debate Please

Hey, I take offense at the term Harpie, as the mother of a harpist, well, you know she's called a harpie in circles you know!

Sounds like the Today show is getting desperate LOL...

I apologize. I would hate to associate perfectly nice people with Coulter. Especially children.

See, I can't seem to turn away when I see her on TV. It's that feeling of knowing that something horrible is going to come out of her mouth, but not being able to stop myself from listening and cringing! The first time I saw her, I thought that she must be doing some kind of parody of a conservative psycho freak. Unfortunately, it was all too real.

I used to listen to her when she first came on the scene. I like to hear what the other side has to say, when they are sane, rational and respectful.

She and others like her can't debate without name calling. Or trying to take the other side down - its not enough that they win a debate - they have to annihilate the opponent.

I have found that name calling just turns me off from the other debater - and I don't hear a word they say. Its what bothered me about the conservative movement when they came into "power" in the 90's. It wasn't about their agenda and governance philosophy - it was all about their power. Liberals and Democrats were summarily dismissed - points of view were trashed - all respect is lost.

Senators and Congresspeople from both sides of the aisle used to be cordial to each other - during Gingrich\Armey - all Republicans had to toe the conservative line. You rarely see a moderate Republican any more.

I found them to be such bullies - I found myself vowing to never, ever vote Republican, even if it was for a moderate, reasonable one. They, in turn, would be forced to support the party at large.

And reading various blogs - they republicans feel equally the same about us democrats - though I still contend we're not as lock step in barrel as they are.......

Just random thoughts on a lousy weather day....... Where is the sun?

Thank you my friend, she is already a Liberal, and she thanks you profusely....

She would never want to be confused with such an evil person.

I agree. We did mostly sashimi, with a few rolls thrown in, and then sake. I forgot to mention, we got ice cream too! YAY ICE CREAM!
You missed the second best dessert on Disney property (IMO) ... the green tea pudding. Oh. My. Is it good!

We also had a last minute reservation at Tokyo Dining recently. Our plane was delayed and we missed our reservation at San Angel but they were able to get us into Tokyo Dining for dinner right before IllumiNations. I thought the food was OK ... any time I can get sushi on the DDP I'm happy. BUT ... they refused to serve my DD a vegetarian tempura kid's meal. They insisted that she have two tempura shrimp instead with no veggies. We ordered her some tamago and she had her rice (and my pudding) so she was OK. We ate her shrimp, but I was still PO'd that they wouldn't make the change to veggies when they had tempura veggies for the other tempura meals.

Great KO show tonight..blasted good ole Coulter....and her BS story about being banned from NBC. :rolleyes1

She's a crazy horrible harpie. Glen Beck is perpetually the fat kid who stole the pie from the neighbor lady's window sill and went off in the woods to eat and then sulk. Perez Hilton was brought on to talk about more interesting things. Guess the Today show got tired of hypocite Ann Coulter's mean rants. And also, she's boring.

:rotfl2:

I found Glenn Beck on the radio while on my way home from work today. I swear he sounded like he was wearing his pants too tight! He must really like listening to himself talk (where's the throwing up smiley when ya need one). Oh wait, how about this? (DD carved it for Halloween.):

Hopefully one of the blogs will put it up.

I wish Bill Maher was back from hiatus.

I am sure there will be!...In other KO news, he chose Sarah Palin as worse person for her newest family scandal. It seems Levy..(Bristol's boyfriend) quit his job after it was discovered he was hired without the proper background...You must be at least a High School graduate...er no, he is not...but his future FIL did work on that same site...:rolleyes1

It was also reported this week that the arrest of Levy's Mom for drug dealing, was deliberately delayed during the campaign....Say it ain't so! Family values, gotta love 'em!

and they said her problems with the law had nothing to do with Sarah..Yeah, sure.

Palin 2012! Yeah, I'm holding my breath for that one.

That's really good. You know Martha Stewart is going to be copying this one next Halloween.

I love Disney food, but they have a LONG way to go for vegetarians. Most table service places only have one veg meal. My best friend eats well at DW, but she is still pretty limited.

They do have some work to do on the vegetarian food front. Some restaurants don't really know the meaning of the word. They've gotten better, though. But as for vegetarian kids' meals--it's a choice of mac and cheese, pizza and pb&j. At least there are buffets where the kids can eat the same food as the adults.

I'm sure this has been covered while I was on vacation, but I read that Sarah Palin told People Magazine that Bristol and Levi were NOT "high school dropouts". Um ... what term would you use for two teens who quit high school :confused3?

Palin 2012! Yeah, I'm holding my breath for that one.

The Republican party won't have anything to do with her by then. She may try a run at it, but they'll black ball her. That party must change its direction if it is going to survive. I seriously doubt she's part of their long-term plan

Did you see her on the Today Show this morning? The entire interview was her typical uber-abrasive right wing wackjob shtick (calling PE Obama "B. Hussein Obama", saying that she's not interested in the country coming together in any bipartisan manner, etc.). However, at the very end, Matt Lauer said to her, "Oh, and BTW, you're not banned from NBC. When you write another book, we'll have you back." To which she said "Oh...OK. Good." or something to that effect. After all of the hyperventilating on the right wing blogs, talk about going out with a whimper!

I think it's sad how, even after the election is over, she continues to use her family as a political tool for media manipulation. I guess 2012 is just a day away...
