I thought shoes were going to be thrown at that circus of a show they just had..... The guy who took this (Burris) must be one egg shy of a dozen.

Now the Ltn. Gov. is speaking..... mind you Blago has not spoken to him in more than one year.

Blago needs to go....

good evening libs

Been pretty busy today, trying to enroll my terrorist into our health insurance.
The dentist suspects he will need braces and I am hoping I won't have to pay out of pocket.

Yours has teeth?

:flower3:

Hahaha. Mine is taking piano lessons and ballet. He says he doesn't like it, but I told him that it was important for him to become a well-rounded person. And he doesn't seem to like the pony I got him for Christmas either.

Did anyone see that Bristol Palin reported sold her baby's pictures for $300,000? Seems rather high.

Hello darlins (as my dear friend Uncle Remus would say). We buried my dear momma yesterday. We left the service with (the real and original) Hank Williams recording of 'Hey Good Lookin' playing loudly in the background. My kids are all here and so are the rest of her 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grands but they're heading off to the four winds from whence them came before too long so I'll be sad and lost for a while. If you don't know, we shared a home with Mom so everywhere I turn I expect to see her. It's hard but she died like she lived - on her own terms. I found her in her bed on Friday morning where it seems she just went to sleep and didn't awaken. I think she made sure I was surrounded by most of my grown children so I wouldn't be too overwhelmed. She'd had lots of fun on Christmas and left us with two fresh pumpkin pies, her famous cream cheese bars and joyous memories. We have wonderful memories. Her obituary talks of her delight in the election and our regret that she didn't live to see GWB leave the White House.

Even at my age being an orphan sucks, it really sucks.

I'm so sorry.

OMG!! Well people are foolish enough to obsess over this one birth..I wish them well, but my interest would be more directed to the 17 year old single teen without the resources available in this case.

A tutu and no teeth just wouldn't look right. Think insurance would cover some new choppers?

Yes I wish her well; she's just a kid. She probably doesn't need the money as much as some, as her family can provide for her and the baby. Although really, it's not that much. Once she pays taxes on it, she'll barely have enough to buy her mom a new wardrobe at Neiman Marcus!

:rotfl:

Don't worry, don't they all have new wardrobes compliments of the tax payers?

No! They gave it all back, don't you remember???

Anyhow, good evening Libs, been busy this evening, you guys are too quiet :goodvibes

And people were saying the kids should be left alone so they could live their lives in peace. Where's the privacy now?

I believe that Sarah Palin won't be around for 2012 because the RNC won't have anything to do with her, so frankly... I could care less. This is their last hurrah! Might as well cash in while they can. There was never any integrity to begin with, so why would we expect it now?

Fallout begins after dismal holiday season
'The downturn has been catastrophic,' according to one retail analyst

updated 6:40 p.m. ET, Mon., Dec. 29, 2008

NEW YORK - The fallout from the horrific holiday season for retailers has begun, with the operator of an online toy seller filing for bankruptcy protection and more stores are expected to do the same — meaning more empty storefronts and fewer brands on store shelves.

A rash of store closings, which some experts predict will be the most in 35 years, is likely to come across areas from electronics to apparel, shrinking the industry and leading to fewer niche players and suppliers.

The most dramatic pullback in consumer spending in decades could transform the retail landscape, as thousands of stores and whole malls close down. And analysts expect prolonged woes in the industry as the dramatic changes in shopping behavior could linger for another two or three years amid worries about the deteriorating economy and rising layoffs.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

My Mom passed in May of this year. We sometimes look at each other - and still can't believe it happened.

You are so lucky to have that last joyous Christmas with her.

My Mom began being more sickly right before last Christmas - then subsequently was hospitalized several times for pneumonia and congestive heart failure. Her doctors always gave us hope that she'd recover - we were so unprepared for that midnight call, when her body gave up on her.

Just today, a long time friend of hers who had been hospitalized for quite some time this year, called looking for her. I had to tell her the sad news. It still sounds foreign coming from my lips..... I felt so bad for this friend - she felt bad that she wasn't able to give her condolences at the time.....

Mom was a Hillary supporter (and did get to vote for her in the primary) - wasn't crazy about Obama. But I know she would have chosen him over McCain and Palin...... She believed Republicans were out to "get" Seniors......... ;) lol

Please know that we're here for you to lend an ear, share a moment, or just plain be.......

I still can't believe that my Dad is gone sometimes and it's been 9 years. He was an odd man politically. He liked Reagan but he was a Democrat. I don't know what happened there but I don't think that he would have liked George W Bush.

Anyway, sorry to ramble. My sympathies to those of you who have lost someone so recently.

This sounds ugly. :headache:

Personally, I think that the truth lies somewhere between the fantasy that nothing is really happening and terrible predictions being made by the Press. Either way, people are hurting and I worry that more will be in trouble as time goes by. :sad1:
