How adorable! Even at six he realizes sometimes you surrender to your loss... Sometimes you don't, and exude bitterness on a daily basis.

I agree.

Chris, your six-year-old has wisdom years beyond some "adults" I've been known to come across in a conversation here or there.

Buy that baby an arugula salad, a tye-dyed shirt, and a lava lamp.

Tell him his aunty Jen is buying him a few square feet of the rain forest.

My husband and I were just putting our six-year old to bed and he said "Mom, remember. A Jedi never gives up, except when he says 'I surrender!'"

He is the funniest person I know.

Awwww what a smart little guy! I'll bet he also knows the colors of everyone's light sabers which makes him a true Jedi. :darth:

It is both liberal and elitist. Good job! This is what we are working towards everyday.

How is Disney today? Crowded? I've heard mixed reports.
Yes, very crowded. I went back into the Studios to ride TSM on my fast pass and a very dazed group got in line behind me from the stand-by line where the lines merge. They had been in line for over 2 hours! We were able to ride ToT, TSM (twice), R&RRC (twice, single rider line), Star Tours and also see Playhouse Disney and Little Mermaid. We get in at rope drop and then go back to our resort at about 2pm to nap & swim. The second TSM and Star Tours were done at 6ish when we went back in. We then went to Epcot and caught IllumiNations. The holiday special "Let there be peace on earth" always makes me cry.

AK is tomorrow for us ... a 7am start. So, I need to get to bed. *yawn*

Hi Everyone, we are back.... Mountain conditions are so lousy my kids blew off all their snowboard and skiing lessons for the week.... Spring skiing is for wimps. They have their underarmour, their handwarmers, foot warmers, face guards, and smart wool, where's the cold???? :scared1:

Glad to see nothing has changed in my absence :rotfl:

Oh Mary. I just noticed you changed your "shirt".

As soon as I get mine back, I think I'll join ya'.

Just to make a "statement"...and all. ;)

Oh...and welcome back Chris. Sorry the weather was stinky. ::yes::

Thanks Jen, it was a total bummer... If I'd know, I could have rented the place out to some unsuspecting tourist ;)

My honey was supposed to be on the way back from Vail right now. They were enjoying themselves so much they stayed an extra day.

I just don't get it.

It's cold. And wet.

He also likes to camp. :faint:

My motto has always been...outside is dirty. :teeth:

I think I mentioned here that DD's coach's sister got tickets to the inauguration and was hoping to get another! Well, she got another so now Rachel's coach is going too! She told me tonight and is so excited! They are going to a ball on the 19th (which is not the one Obama will be at), and then to the inauguration. She's now searching for the perfect dress for the ball. I'm so thrilled for the both of them! She promised to take lots of pictures.

Your motto and my motto are exactly the same, however, not so much for my kids :lmao:

That stinks! Skiing on ice and rocks is no fun! We're waiting for more lifts to open at our local ski area before we venture up there. My mom just had a full knee replacement today. Her doctor told her that her skiing days are over. She's bummed because she would have been able to ski free in two more years when she turns 72!

That's right, M. How did the surgery go?

It went well. Spent the most of the day waiting at the hospital, but watched a couple of good movies on my Zune to help pass the time. She ended up getting a full knee replacement. The doc wasn't sure if he'd need to do the whole knee, but said it was a mess when he got in there to see it. We've been through this with the other knee, but now she's 6 years older. So far, so good though. She'll have to go to rehab for a few days after she gets out of the hospital, so maybe 10 days total between the hospital and rehab. Thanks for asking!

My mom is a die hard liberal, so if anyone knows of any good books I could pick up for her to read, I'm open to suggestions. I have a B&N gift card burning a hole in my pocket.

I am really enjoying Boom which is about the 60's. Best wishes on your Mom's recovery. She was still skiing?....Good for her!!

The darn kid eats like a republican, sadly. I don't believe a piece of arugula has passed his lips. Despite this, he is definitely an Obama kind of guy.

Good luck to her. I just read "All Over But the Shoutin'". It's been out for a while. Not a political book but it's really beautiful, probably the best thing I've read in years.
