It's been snowing here all day and started sticking when the temps dropped in the evening. We've got between 3 and 4 inches at our house now. The kids are waiting with bated breath for school to be called off tomorrow.

I'm heading to the kitchen to whip up a batch of fudge.

See, it does snow in the desert!

No snow has stuck yet.

But, the temperatures. We haven't gotten above 20...and with the wind chills it's been in the single digits.

The Electoral College met today and President Elect Obama was elected as our President. The votes will be officially counted on January 6, 2009 but there has been no reports of any faithless electors or mishaps.

In addition the SCOTUS denied an application for an injunction to stop the meeting of the Electoral College based on a variation of the crazy birth certificate theory. I wonder how many times the SCOTUS will have to deny cert before these lawsuits are finally stopped.

I got the fudge made. I bought the wrong kind of Baker's chocolate (got unsweetened instead of semi-sweet), so I hope the batch comes out okay. The batter kind of tasted like brownies. Martha Stewart, I am not.

So far we have a 2 hour school delay tomorrow. My guess is that it will turn into a day off. I was contemplating booking a Disney trip with the B4G3F package, but was holding off on booking the dates because of possible snow days. We usually like to leave the day after school lets out so we can have a few less crowded days before Memorial weekend, but if we have snow days, the make-up days get added back in at the end of the year. I have to decide and book by Dec. 20th to get that deal.
