The Liberal Thread #2 - No Debate Please

I'll have to go back and check, but you may be correct, as I last heard that comment before this Tuesday, so that may have changed the formula.
It's possible. Going in, Tuesday was Obama's last chance to win outright without the aid of supers. If they add those two states and he wins them, I guess he could still do it.

This whole delegate/super delegate thing is the most messed up thing I've ever dealt with. Some sites list all of them together so you think a state is worth more for the actual voters only to find out there are 25-50 supers in the mix. You can tell this is all new to the media too. They're all over the board when talking about this stuff.

James Carville is right-organizing anything in the Democratic party is like herding cats....

I don't like the Republican platform, but I've got to admit-they're well organized.

We're Democrats...we can't do anything simply. :teeth: I believe the term they used in The West Wing was "bumfuzzled". :lmao:

I love James Carville. The first time I heard him say that Pennsylvania was "Philadelphia on one end, Pittsburgh on the other, and Alabama in between" I just about did a pepsi spit-take. :teeth:

You may disagree, but that is how it works. We went through this on Tuesday while voting for officers. We had to calculate how many people were there and what the majority was (I think it was 43) In one case we had 4 people vying for one position. One candidate recieved 40 votes and the rest of the votes were split among among the three other candidates. The person with 40 had the lead but not the majority needed. We had to keep revoting until she got the required 43 votes.

It's not just some rule we pulled outof thin air to justify Hillary continuing to run. The system is set up that way to prevent one candidate from winning with a questionable margin. Bush won with a highly questionable margin and look how destructive that's been to out country.

Are you talking about your precinct convention? Did you spend that much time electing a chair for your precinct? I guess I'm surprised because it doesn't really matter who leads the precinct convention; the numbers are all going to be verified by both parties.

The Republican National Committee has started telegraphing their fall strategy, beginning by buying up a ton of domain names relating to Clinton and Obama:

I sure am glad we've got Dona Quixote Clinton making sure that we can't possibly start campaigning early, but instead have to blow tens of millions of campaign dollars in Pennsylvania and beyond. I'd really hate it if our candidate had to take all those millions into the summer and fall as a campaign warchest. :thumbsup2

:sad2:

barackisliberal.com

:lmao: Like we didn't know. I love how some people think liberal is a bad word.

How about then using BarackHasTheJudgement.com or BarackHasJudgement.com?

wvrevy.....there's a light at the end of the tunnel. :hippie:

I agree with every word you said. (except i spitted out dr. pepper) That Alabama comment was as funny & as true as anything i ever heard.

I've always loved that line. :lmao:

Hey, they may be well organized (up to a point), but at least we're one thing they aren't......... At least we're not as dull as a bag of dirt. ;)

For those of you without Air America, Randi Rhoads is ripping Hillary apart. :teeth: Between the "Ken Starr" comments, the "John is qualified, I'm qualified, Barack gave a speech" nonsense, the "Barack called Canada about NAFTA...or, wait, no, that was me" stuff...it's getting pretty ugly.

Hound, that light is liable to be the headlamp of a train if we end the primaries with a candidate so smeared by one of our own that the right won't even have to go negative, they can just buy advertising time and replay Hillary's speeches.

That's some contribution to the Clinton legacy. I used to believe the Clintons cared about their political track records...

Not YAGE-ing or anything - but I think it would be best for those of us who are proud of both the nominees to avoid this thread until one or the other is chosen. The bickering is getting to be way to negative and pitting dem against dem.

This is not a discussion about candidates, but a discussion of dirty political tactics out of the Karl Rove playbook. No Democrat should get a pass on that.

I will stand by the same words I used when someone on the other side of the political aisle asked "what will you do if your side does it". I condemned those tactics when the Republicans used them and I am condemning those tactics when a Democrat uses them. No, I will not just go quietly away for the sake of unity or because it makes some people uncomfortable. It is beyond me how any Democrat can be hypocritical enough to condemn Bush and then give Hillary a pass.

It is regrettable and unforgiveable that a Democrat felt the need to go the slimeball route. Democrats ought to be condemning this crap instead of making excuses and redefining the meaning of "is" or reinterpreting what "she" meant.

It is disgusting. It is disgraceful. And all of it can be laid at the feet of one candidate.

Agreed 1 googolplex percent (and that's a bunch)!

Are you filling in for John on his day off or is he training you as a temp?

:lmao: I could never aspire to his throne. I'm just a bored dude chained to the house on a cold rainy day. Don't let my silliness interrupt you guys.
