Hi everyone! I hope its ok for me to start a pre-trip report ... I just discovered these boards a couple of weeks ago and they have been amazing! I got a bit overwhelmed trying to plan my ADRs and this board has helped me a ton .... I haven't been to Disney since 1998, so I need lots of help and lots of planning!
Here's a little about me and the characters you'll meet along the way!
I'm Jamie, a 31 year old professional photographer and I work from home. I'm originally from New Orleans but we currently live in a small town about 1 1/2 hours west of the city. My family and I took trips to Disney almost every year until I was a Senior in high school, so I have tons of great memories from WDW. My first visit was before I even turned 1 ... my last visit was with an ex-boyfriend and we had an awful time because we fought the whole week. I don't even remember much from the trip!
This is a picture of me with my 22 mth old nephew
Wade is my 30 year old husband who has NEVER been to Disney
He and his family never took vacations, so getting him to go on one has been a huge chore. It has taken me 2 years to convince him to go on a Disney vacation. He likes to relax, read, fish and watch sports and believes a vacation should be about relaxing, so this is going to be a bit of a stretch for him. He's also pretty particular about food ... not picky, he just likes GOOD food.
Hayden is my 3 1/2 year old who is a bundle of energy and attitude ... this is a birthday trip of sorts for him. My original intention was to go the week of his birthday, which is Oct 13, but when they announced the free DP through Oct 3, I decided we'd push the trip up a bit. I've been brainwashing Hayden about Disney for over a year now, so he's super-excited to go!
Emelyn is currently 8 months old and will be 11 months at the time of our trip. Her birthday is also in October, so I plan to celebrate it as well, during the trip. She's very temperamental and is super-attached to me. I'll still be nursing her at the time of the trip, so I'm really curious to see how she'll handle it all.
So of our group, I'm the only one who's ever been to DIsney and while I won't say I'm a Disney fanatic, I am the type that gets all emotional and teary eyed over WDW ... I think its the nostalgia from my childhood, but I can't even begin to describe how excited I am about this trip and sharing this experience with my kids and my husband.
My #1 goal, though, is to make sure DH has an amazing time because if he doesn't, this may be our only trip, EVER
I'll definitely need you guys to help me figure out ways to make this a great trip for him!
