Yes, I'm still alive.

The last month and a bit has been one heck of a roller coaster but finally I have gotten off it albeit a little worse for wear but still here none the less. My TR has suffered tremendously and I'm doubting continuing it at this point. Unless there's a huge uproar, I may end it here and start fresh on the next trip I take. The winner of the prize will be whomever had the highest points since the last questions I posted. Still need to figure that one out....


The move in with DBF went well at first until my dog got fleas (and costed me an astronomical bill at the vet....lesson learned: don't take dog to vet when they have fleas unless absolutely necessary) , other crawly critters showed up in the kitchen (silverfish ), my car needed a new horn and new front brakes, and then Christmas and New Years. December was a really hard month. Really. hard. With Bubba not being around for Christmas again almost killed me. Not to mention all the other stuff I was dealing with. She's normally the person I can turn to to vent all my frustrations. The outlook of another trip to WDW isn't looking good with all my finances tied up in other things right now. I was supposed to go back in Feb with my Dad and stepmom but since switching to my new job earlier in December, I found out their blackout dates for vacation are January, February and March. That's the travel industry for ya So if I have any hope of going anywhere this winter, it will have to be over a weekend or I wait until April/May. Did I mention Bubba got engaged? It's been so long I can't remember what I've shared with y'all. Well, she got engaged The plan is to fly down in May with a few other family members to help pick out her wedding dress. If all else fails, I could try to put together a week in May or something. (Star Wars weekends!!!)

Anyway, it's all highly speculative at this point.

I've been avoiding the DIS like the plague because even thinking of WDW makes me sad. I've missed everyone here and the great DIS community. I hope to make a reappearance on all your threads at some point in the coming days.

I'm sorry to hear about all the bad luck recently with finances and vacation time etc. Even though you may not be going back as soon as you would have liked at least you know you will be going back at some point! Glad to see you are well otherwise.

I'm sorry thinking about Disney makes you sad, but as PP said, at least you can look forward to going SOMEDAY, when things smooth out a little at home. Keep in touch with us!

Oh wow, that sounds like a lot! Fleas are the worst to deal with (we just got over a fungus thing and that was bad enough). May sounds like a great time to go, I'd love to see Star Wars weekend but crowds at MGM are not on the list of things we want to experience at Disney.

I'd love to hear (read?) the end of your report, but it's totally up to you! Definitely do what's best for you.

Hope your 2012 is better than 2011!

Hi Jen !!I hear you with the TR !!Many thought I had abandoned mine !!But I made it back andhave almosr finished one and am working on the other !!January is not a Black out monthfor Mall Shopping and a Dis Meet is it ???? As for fleas , they are not as bad as BED BUGSDon't ever want to go thru that again evacuating 10 consumers and the cleanup was a NIGHTMARE

How exciting you're going on another trip in 25 days! That's great! Hopefully I can join in on the TR when you get back. I know things will get better. Sometimes it all gets very overwhelming.... one step at a time.

I hope so too! I don't think we had as bad a flea problem as I thought. I've watched some videos on YouTube and the dogs are COVERED. My dog had two on her and I haven't seen any since. I'm still taking precautions though. She's getting another flea bath in a couple weeks. I can only imagine how crowded it gets during SWW. I'd still like to experience it. One more thing to check off the list....

Glad to hear I wasn't the only one to disappear. I did check in here now and then between my DIS absence and it seemed not much was going on. At least with you and Marv's thread. BED BUGS, YIKES Those would seriously gross me out. I know if I hadn't caught the fleas as early as I did, we would've been in for a huge cleaning ourselves

Jen! You are alive, whew! I was beginning to wonder if you'd been sucked into a black hole. Either that or you went back to Italy and refused to come home. Either one is totally plausible.

Sounds like it's been a low key, low stress, totally relaxing couple of months for you... I'm glad things seem to be settling some now. And congrats to Bubba! How exciting! When is she getting married? Are you secretly hoping it's at Disney so you can plan a trip? I would and I'm not ashamed to admit that to you.
