The Lesser Known Eighth Dwarf, Dumpy, Comes to Disney Aug '11 **NEW 2/20 TR link!!!

Okay, okay.....I wasn't wanting you to finish JUST because I would get billing in the rest of your TR!!! :guilty:

I was hoping to piggy back on your reports by posting my thoughts and pictures so I wouldn't have to start another year-long TR to go along with the one I already haven't finished....... :sad2:

We all had a wonderful time with you and Stitch, and I was glad to make some new friends that mean so much! Definitely hope we have plenty of opportunities to tour The World together in the future!!! :goodvibes

That's all folks! Thanks for following along. I hope you enjoyed the ride :cool2:

Jen, thanks for those pictures! It was fun to see at least how the trip ended!!

And I agree, meeting Marv is definitely one highlight of a WDW trip! Katharina and I had the pleasure to meet him and Jonathan in October and we had a lot of fun together! :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing the pics of the trip! Even if you can't finish your report (which I understand, since I have 2+ unfinished trip reports here), I'm glad you were able to share the fun pics!

Thanks for the summary of the trip! Is Tower of Terror your new favorite ride?

Glad another trip worked out so soon! It's always so much nicer when you know exactly when you're going back.

I think I can answer that question for Jen. After observing her reaction and comments following our ride on ToT, I think I can unequivocally say that it is now DEFINITELY...................NOT her new favorite ride! :rotfl:

Jen also didn't mention in her "final updates" that she went with us to ride RnR!!!! ::yes:: :ssst:

Jen, you are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sweet to add a "finishing touch" to your TR. We really didn't want to listen to Marv whine because you didn't include your visit with him. I really hate to see a grown man cry. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I'm leaving Thursday for Disney, but will look for a link for your new TR when I get back.

And welcome back. I've missed you.

:yay: Glad you got to meet Marv and his family!

IMG_0020_22.jpg

Yeah I did!

 All right! And I'm sure you loved it.

IMG_00245.jpg

Yeah I did that too! :p

Oh poo.

Who was that :p meant for???

IMG_00566.jpg

It took me forever to find this fountain and yet, it was right beside our building! I walked around the whole darn pond before I found it :sad2:

Love this tilt-shift photo. We passed that fountain a couple times every day when we stayed at that resort.

I'm sorry that you're not continuing this TR, but I'm glad that you are going to be starting another one. I'll hop on board for that one too. :thumbsup2

Yay! I'll make sure to post a link here when I get it started. It's just uploading the pictures that takes forever....

Great pictures and hooray for another trip!

BTW, that picture of the zebra domes is making me hungry...:rolleyes1

Me too! I got a pretty good close up eh?

LOVED THIS ENDING!!!

And I am SO PROUD OF YOU for going on ToT!!!!

You guys spotted the Kangaroo too! And I loved all your Canadian thumbs up of course.

Can't wait for the next one.

I think I'm still in shock from the experience but hopefully it'll get easier the more I go on it. I don't think Bubba will give me a choice anymore  I'm glad you liked the ending :goodvibes

Okay, okay.....I wasn't wanting you to finish JUST because I would get billing in the rest of your TR!!! :guilty:

We all had a wonderful time with you and Stitch, and I was glad to make some new friends that mean so much! Definitely hope we have plenty of opportunities to tour The World together in the future!!! :goodvibes

Well in all fairness when I went back to look at the pictures I took from the rest of the trip, I really wanted to share it. And I just couldn't leave out the best part! Cause it really was!

Jen, thanks for those pictures! It was fun to see at least how the trip ended!!

And I agree, meeting Marv is definitely one highlight of a WDW trip! Katharina and I had the pleasure to meet him and Jonathan in October and we had a lot of fun together! :goodvibes

See Marv? I'm not the only one! Thanks for reading along Magdalene :goodvibes

Thanks for sharing the pics of the trip! Even if you can't finish your report (which I understand, since I have 2+ unfinished trip reports here), I'm glad you were able to share the fun pics!

Phew, and I thought it wasn't worthwhile to finish this one. I guess I underestimate people's interest in these here TRs. I feel like people will lose interest after a long gap. I'll have to remember that when I start my next one and then another one less than a month after that :rotfl:

Thanks for the summary of the trip! Is Tower of Terror your new favorite ride?

Glad another trip worked out so soon! It's always so much nicer when you know exactly when you're going back.

Amen to that. I just can't stand not knowing when I'll be back again

Well... ToT was fun but I think we have more of a love/hate relationship.

Oh right!!! Hey I don't think I have a picture of that. Cause you know it never happened unless there's proof...... :rolleyes1

And yes, Marv would be right. Definitely NOT my new favorite ride!

Yeah cause that Marv is such a whiner jeez. Never stops that one.

Leaving thursday?!? How did that come so fast? Have a great time!! I missed you too

:yay: Glad you got to meet Marv and his family!

 All right! And I'm sure you loved it.

Oh poo.

Who was that :p meant for???

Love this tilt-shift photo. We passed that fountain a couple times every day when we stayed at that resort.

Hey ninja post! Oh yes, I totally loved ToT. Especially in the FRONT row :sad2: I swear I could've wet my pants. That's not saying that I did....I mean...whose keeping track?

I loved how that pic turned out too. A worthwhile shot after all that hunting for the darn fountain.

:p

I swear I could've wet my pants. That's not saying that I did....I mean...whose keeping track?

That was that picture early on in the chapter, right? You must have gotten them out of order. ;)

I got the front row too for my first time. "How wonderful", I thought.

:p

And I agree, meeting Marv is definitely one highlight of a WDW trip! Katharina and I had the pleasure to meet him and Jonathan in October and we had a lot of fun together!
We definitely had a lot of fun together, but Marv is the one who was blessed getting to meet you two very sweet sisters! Getting to actually meet and make dear friends in person of those who I get to chat with here is such a treasure! Every one of them has been just as special as I thought it would be and I hope to soon mark many more off my "love to meet" list!!! :thumbsup2
Jen, you are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sweet to add a "finishing touch" to your TR. We really didn't want to listen to Marv whine because you didn't include your visit with him. I really hate to see a grown man cry.
 :sad1:
Since simply ending this TR without bringing up a few important moments of this trip would break a few hearts (MARV! OH whoops, did I say that out loud?)
:guilty:
I have decided to make a summary in pictures of the happenings that went on from about where I left off. So here, ladies and gentleman, for your view pleasure, I give you.... To End is Just The Beginning......
dd547db6.jpg
Speaking of Ends......... Actually, isn't this the picture we took of you just after a certain "ride" you went on????
The MARVelous family at Yak & Yeti

5644206c.jpg

I will mention that Marv and his family are absolutely darling. It was great meeting you and we had a lovely dinner that night. I hope we can do it again sometime. But wait! That's not all you get to see of the MARVelous Marv. Oh, you just wait....
 Great Time with a couple of wonderful, sweet Canadian ladies!!! :flower3:
Continuing on our picture summary....

IMG_0020_22.jpg

Yeah I did!
 And you were sooooo brave! :rolleyes1
Who can spot the MARVelous Marv?

IMG_0009_22.jpg
Couldn't let you be the only one up at the front! ;)
IMG_00245.jpg

Yeah I did that too! :p

IMG_00254.jpg
I'm pretty sure that Jonathan was either that Best This Hour or Best Today score. Will have to go back and find the pictures to verify. I'm pretty sure he topped the 200K plateau twice that day. The sad part for him is on his highest score we got to see it quickly, and then it disappeared as the person right behind us topped it!!! lol
Three of my favorite characters to see at Disney!!!

Marv, it was great meeting you and both Stitch and I had a wonderful time while we ran around the parks together.
IMG_00247.jpg

Two things this picture reminds me of. First, I can't believe I didn't even think of bringing my camera along and had to rely on your pictures for proof it happened. And secondly, how did we not get an identical picture with the lovely Stitch to commemorate the moment??? I promise folks, Jen and I didn't run off to the airport together and leave her behind........
:yay: Glad you got to meet Marv and his family!
Yes, but since Matthew wasn't along, you are still the only one to meet the whole Marvali clan!!!
Oh poo.

Who was that :p meant for???
Based on all her comments at the time, I'm guessing your suspicions are correct......
Well in all fairness when I went back to look at the pictures I took from the rest of the trip, I really wanted to share it. And I just couldn't leave out the best part! Cause it really was!
It was definitely special!!!
See Marv? I'm not the only one! Thanks for reading along Magdalene
Okay, so let's just agree that DISmeets are wonderful things for everyone involved because they are definitely special times and memories for me too!
Phew, and I thought it wasn't worthwhile to finish this one. I guess I underestimate people's interest in these here TRs. I feel like people will lose interest after a long gap. I'll have to remember that when I start my next one and then another one less than a month after that
Well it isn't like you don't see a lot of examples around here of people having long gaps in their TRs and people still sticking with them! :goodvibes
Yeah cause that Marv is such a whiner jeez. Never stops that one.
That was that picture early on in the chapter, right? You must have gotten them out of order. ;)

I got the front row too for my first time. "How wonderful", I thought.
I think you are right on that one!

Before I continue, let me just set one thing straight: I did NOT wet my pants on ToT.

That is all.

Now that I finally have some time off from work, chores (living on your own is tough! I can just see the comments comin' on this one), stressing over finances, and watching Gilmore Girls (I'm rewatching the whole series) I thought I'd give a teenie-weenie sneak peek at my trip that's in

 11 DAYS!!!!

Sorry, I had a happy moment there.

Oh, and I've decided I'm not going to do a November TR. I'd much rather do a TR on my semi-solo trip that's in

 11 DAYS!!!!

Darn it! I did it again! Sorry.....I promise I'll try to control myself from now on.

As I was saying, I'd rather do a TR on my semi-solo trip because it'll be fresher in my mind and I won't need to beg other people for their photos to include in it because, well, I'll be the only one taking the pictures.

First, I'm staying at

ASMO_EST_1_998.jpg

I was really hoping for Pop Century but now, I'm actually kind of excited to stay here. At first I was staying at ASSp but once I found out a soccer tournament and a twirling competition were going to invade the place, I tried endlessly to find something else. Thankfully ASMo showed up and BAM! I booked it. Even still, I've heard things can get noisy there so I've requested a room in the Love Bug section, top floor, facing the parking lot. I highly doubt I will be spending much time in my room the first couple of days so being the furthest away from the main building and the pool won't be a big deal. I'd rather peace and quiet when I'm trying to sleep.

I couldn't get ASMo for my whole stay so my last night will be spent here

IMG_0015_2.jpg

P.S. This is one of the many pics from my November trip

I got a Water view but that's the only choice I had. I loved my stay here in November so I'm sure it will be just as good again. I didn't make any room requests but since I'm only here 1 night, the location of the room won't matter so much.

I hope to have the use of Bubba's car while I'm there. Not saying I don't like Disney transportation.... it's just that I can get from A to B on my own schedule that much quicker :goodvibes

Why semi-solo you ask? Well, Bubba probably won't have much time off while I'm there. I'll probably have a few occasions when I'm off on my own. I'm actually looking very forward to it and having some "me" time. I'm only worried about when I have to eat alone.

I've made a few ADRs:

59bf504b.jpg

Lunch

b4bd474f.jpg

Lunch & Dinner (not on the same day of course!)

jiko2jpg-2c48238eec6596f1_large.jpg

Dinner (that's Jiko in case you were wondering)

I'm not sure how comfortable I will be at Crystal Palace by myself so I might end up cancelling that one. Jiko is supposed to be for me and Bubba to eat together. Not sure if she'll be off that night yet or not. If she can't come, I'll probably still go to this one. I've always wanted to eat here.

I was also considering lunch at Sanaa and dinner at Raglan Road but the cost started to go up, up, up. I'm not a big eater so having 2 sit-down meals in one day probably won't be necessary. Instead, I've made plans to go to some CS places like Earl of Sandwich, Sunshine Seasons, and maybe even the resort food court. Hopefully I can get away with ordering the kid's meal for breakfast one morning. Mostly I'll have breakfast in my room but a Mickey waffle might just be calling my name.

I also really want to try

babycakes-downtown-disney.jpg

Ever since Bubba became a vegan (or maybe was started dating a vegan :rotfl: ) I've been exposed to some very different cuisine. I'm a pretty big health nerd when it comes to food and vegan cuisine is just that. I won't get into a whole vegan/meat debate but I do quite enjoy the food. I wouldn't make it my strict diet or anything, but I'm definitely open to it. So getting back to babycakes, I'd really like to try some of their stuff. Bubba's fiancé and mother-in-law (both vegans) went head over heels for the place in November. I never ended up trying any though. This will get a special visit when I'm in DTD. Just look at these though, don't they look delicious?!

Babycakes-Disney-Display-Case.jpg

Of course I will be going to all the parks but I'm not going to get into too much detail since this is just a sneak peek ;)

Hope everyone has a FABULOUS weekend. Cheers :flower3:

If you do Jiko solo, ask to sit at The Cooking Place (counter). Very nice to chat with and watch the chefs as you eat. I've also found that no one blinks an eye if I order a kids meal at the CS places. Look at WPE for very high end counter service...it's delicious! I missed breakfast this in October due to the monsoon but will try it out for breakfast next trip...lunch and dinner are fabulous.

Hey Jen!

Love all the TR highlight pics you posted, even the ones with Marv.;) Looks like you had a great time meeting up. And I have to say, I'm duly impressed that you rode ToT! Good job! Though you were white as your shirt, you looked a tad scared. Does this mean you won't be riding it again??

Wow, a semi-solo trip! And how many days is it until then again?:rolleyes1 You must be getting excited, especially since you'll get to see Bubba. Is that perhaps why're eating at Le Cellier for lunch and dinner?

Ooooh, I am so looking forward to trying Babycakes! Their entire bakery is gluten free!!:yay: That means I can just stroll on up to the counter and order any thing I want. Sweet heaven.:cloud9: I'm sure you'll love it, it's been getting great reviews.:thumbsup2 They have an online menu too:

Have a great weekend too!:goodvibes:goodvibes

When is your next trip again Jen? ;)

No wonder you beat me at TSM...you get enough practice!

Good move changing resorts when you found out that ASSports was going to be overrun by high schoolers. :thumbsup2

I'm not familiar with Babycakes. They're at DTD?

:welcome: Thanks for the tip! Although, I just got word Bubba should be off that day so dining alone dilemma crisis averted :thumbsup2

Hey Jen!

Actually... I rode it again in November.... not by choice. We have a love/hate relationship.

Wow, a semi-solo trip! And how many days is it until then again?:rolleyes1 You must be getting excited, especially since you'll get to see Bubba. Is that perhaps why're eating at Le Cellier for lunch and dinner?

I'M SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Whoops, my finger got stuck. Ahem, I mean -- yes I'm really looking forward to it. And Bubba will just be entering service at that point so I might get her as a server!!!

I didn't know you had a gluten allergy. I think it's awesome these places exist. I'm really looking forward to trying it myself :goodvibes Not that I have any food allergies....except dairy .... which just makes me have to run to the washroom and be in severe pain for an hour or two. But it's not life threatening or anything. :rolleyes1 Oh, and thanks for the link. I kinda already peered through it. I'm leaning towards the red velvet cupcake and possibly one of those brownies. MMMMmmmm delicious!

When is your next trip again Jen? ;)

Do you really want me to go there?

No wonder you beat me at TSM...you get enough practice!

Not nearly as much practice as I got in 2009 and 2010 but hey, it appears my skills haven't worn off yet :p

Good move changing resorts when you found out that ASSports was going to be overrun by high schoolers. :thumbsup2

There's just something wrong about that resort name. Can't quite place it though :rolleyes1 :rotfl:

I'm not familiar with Babycakes. They're at DTD?

They sure are! Check out 3prettyprincesses link above :goodvibes

Nine days now! The semi-solo trip looks wonderful. How is Bubba adjusting to being a vegan (or at least dating a vegan?) I love Gilmore Girls too - do you watch Parenthood? Lauren Graham plays a similar character.

Your plans for your trip in ten days sound super...can't wait to hear all about it.

Before I continue, let me just set one thing straight: I did NOT wet my pants on ToT

Oh maaann ... see, its this kind of "news" that I miss out on when I skip the Dis for too long :confused3

 11 DAYS!!!!

Hmmm, this was posted on the 4th ... today's the 11th ... so does that mean,

 4 DAYS!!!!

Oh, and I've decided I'm not going to do a November TR. I'd much rather do a TR on my semi-solo trip ...

SWEEEEET .... can't WAIT for this ... I'm soooooooo IN!!:cool1:

Why semi-solo you ask? Well, Bubba probably won't have much time off while I'm there. I'll probably have a few occasions when I'm off on my own. I'm actually looking very forward to it and having some "me" time. I'm only worried about when I have to eat alone.

Just wear big sunglasses for every meal and portray yourself as a celebrity ... we'll back you up on it!!

I've made a few ADRs:

b4bd474f.jpg

Lunch & Dinner (not on the same day of course!)

:rotfl2: Glad you clarified ... thought maybe you'd be sitting there long enough to just let one meal carry over directly into the next!!

jiko2jpg-2c48238eec6596f1_large.jpg

Dinner (that's Jiko in case you were wondering)

PLEASE let me know how you like this (i.e. PLEASE don't cancel this ADR - yes, I know I'm being selfish) ... I've been tossing around places I want to reserve an ADR for a special "Rob & JJ" dinner when we visit in Oct ... this has bumped it's way to the top of my list ... can't wait to hear about your experience!! popcorn::

Jiko is supposed to be for me and Bubba to eat together. Not sure if she'll be off that night yet or not. If she can't come, I'll probably still go to this one. I've always wanted to eat here.

Yes ... you have ... and yes, you DO want to go here ... :rolleyes1

Instead, I've made plans to go to some CS places like Earl of Sandwich, Sunshine Seasons, and maybe even the resort food court.

My family (well, esp mom & dad) have a really unhealthy addiction to Earl of Sanny ... I think dad starts dreaming about it at about 180 days out from each trip. As for me, I love going around the corner to Cook's ... mmmmmmm

I also really want to try

babycakes-downtown-disney.jpg

So getting back to babycakes, I'd really like to try some of their stuff. Bubba's fiancé and mother-in-law (both vegans) went head over heels for the place in November. I never ended up trying any though. This will get a special visit when I'm in DTD.

I can't wait to try their cupcakes ... over the last 6 months I've discovered with increasing affirmation, that I'm sensitive to gluten ... not Celiac disease, but a really sure way I could ruin a Disney trip would be to over "flour" myself ... I looked at their menu and a few of their offerings should be just what the Dr ordered ... I CAN take these as medicine ... right?

[Of course I will be going to all the parks but I'm not going to get into too much detail since this is just a sneak peek ;)

That's teasing!!!

CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR ABOUT THE TRIP!!!
