I answered "other" because unless the garment has specific pre-wash instructions, I don't really care. I may even put them away inside out. I'll eventually turn them right side out when I go to wear them.

I chose ‘Other’ because I think it depends on the clothes…some clothes, I turn inside out to wash and dry…but socks and undies I wash and dry right side out and others (jeans in particular) I’ll wash inside out but dry right side out…my tops that I machine wash, I’ll dry on a rack usually right side out. Other clothes like PJs…I really don’t care as long as they get washed and dried and folded and put away…

I don't care. My husband is picky and doesn't like the way I fold clothes, so he has always folded his own. When I do his I place his shirts etc. over the back of a chair so they don't get wrinkled before he gets to them, but otherwise he just deals with his basket of clean clothes. Now that we're both retired, we generally each do our own. I would happily do his, but he likes his "laundry schedule" :rolleyes1 and I don't follow it!

Who knew there were so many laundry issues to solve in marriage?

When my girls were younger it drove me crazy to have to straighten out almost every sock, shirt, pants before I washed them. I finally told them I was going to charge $0.25 for every article of clothing I had to straighten out. My oldest daughter owed me $7 after I did her next load of laundry after I started this rule. She paid up, reluctantly, and said she would just do her own laundry - Win Win!

In terms of laundry, I tend to turn things right-side out before washing except for things that I purposefully wash inside-out (like my duvet cover and some more delicate things), though I'm not always super careful abou it.

I voted "before putting away" to accommodate graphic tees, but mostly I feel like this:

Pants should never be inside out nor should socks. I do wash graphic t shirts inside out so they last longer (this may be a myth but has become a habit). Anything else inside out drives me nuts especially since I'm the one that does most of the washing and folding.

(And if I'm hanging the tees to dry, I actually turn them right side out then.)

I put "other", because I wash, dry, and fold as I find things. If anyone doesn't like it, they are free to do their own laundry, or turn stuff right-side out.

I did have to stop my youngest from leaving his underwear inside his pajama pants for me to sort out (usually with one leg inside-out, keeping the underwear in place). Same kid gets a pile of inside-out socks--if that's how you bring them down, don't expect me to turn them all and pair them up!

DH and I did get into a disagreement about DS26's Aloha shorts. DS is autistic, he keeps the shirts buttoned (and brings them down on their hangers, dirty). I wash and dry them, then put them back on the hangers. DH has pointed out that they should be unbuttoned, but he's the only one bothered by it--the dirty laundry AND the needed hangers are coming down, I'm good. In fact, while DH unbuttons his shirts and throws them in the hamper, he forgets to bring down the hangers most of the time, so I prefer DS26's method.

Had no idea turning clothes inside out was a thing prior to washing. They all end up submerged in water/detergent during the wash cycle so I really don't see the point of doing that.

I have items that are specifically said on the care label to wash inside out sometimes that's pants sometimes it's shirts sometimes dresses.

My workout clothes are washed inside out but I never put those in the dryer.

If you have embellishments or other delicate parts of your clothes such as screen printed items it's best to wash those inside out. The friction of other clothes can harm them. It's just typically a good rule of thumb to help it last longer.

Then there's considering items like zippers or buttons that can damage your machines and also other clothes.

I guess because a large amount of my clothes get put inside out to help protect them this isn't an issue for me. Plus I hang dry most of my items or line dry them so I guess I'm just used to a tad more effort.

I think they need to be turned the correct way before even going into the washer. To me, it is SO exasperating when emptying the dryer to take all that time to turn stuff right side out. (Yes it could be done before going into the dryer, but handling wet clothes kind of gives me the ick). I finally broke my step-daughters from putting stuff wrong side out in the laundry. I adopted the policy of "if you submit it wrong side out, you get it back wrong side out". It took a couple years, but they learned.

All of my clothes are right side out.
DH's are 50/50. He doesn't pay attention. I do not change his. They stay the way he put them in the hamper. He can deal with inside out clothes when he puts them on.

I do not put most shirts in the dryer, I hang dry them and then air dry them for a few minutes to get wrinkles out and softener scent in.
Except for Work shirts and dress shirts.....they go in the dryer.
