Not trying to solve a problem, just curious what other's thoughts are.

At what point should clothes be right side out? When they get put in the dirty clothes pile? Before putting them in the wash? Before drying them? About the only thing I intentionally wash inside out was sports jerseys for the kids. Don't have to deal with that for our clothes.

While DW usually does our laundry, I occasionally will. It's a minor annoyance to me that most of DW's clothes are inside out when I'm folding and putting away. It's because that's how she takes them off. This is not even worth a discussion. She does most of the laundry, and if she's fine putting thing back to normal when folding, so be it.

We don't know who's going to do the laundry until the day of.

Well my clothes usually aren’t inside out when I wash them but sometime twist around in the washer or dryer.

Clothes don’t both me but socks do. My daughter is bad for this.

Pants should never be inside out nor should socks. I do wash graphic t shirts inside out so they last longer (this may be a myth but has become a habit). Anything else inside out drives me nuts especially since I'm the one that does most of the washing and folding.

Many of my clothes (including pants) say to wash inside out. Some things like underwear or plain T shirts it doesn't matter. I have to go through all of DH's pockets because he leaves stuff I don't want to go through the machines. I fold my own clothes and leave his for him.

From a NY Times article on washing clothes - Turn clothes inside out: Clothing that is prone to fading or odor retention will benefit from being washed inside out. Dark jeans, workout clothes and dark T-shirts should all be washed inside out

We don't wash anything inside out. We each do our own here. But if I was doing for others, it definitely would be worth a talk if they were putting it in the basket inside out.

The clothes will get flipped around, but we just make sure they are right side when folding to put away. However, I do think sometimes maybe it would be better to wash things inside out. Especially socks and underwear. I just feel like maybe it would cleanse the parts touching your body better.

Only time I even check is when putting clothing away. And I don't often find inside out items.

EDIT: Why is this post in both the Community Board and the Controversial Topics forum?

I don't see it on the Controversial forum.:confused3

And I pretty much just wash the clothes the way they were thrown in the hamper except for a couple of my things.

It's not. I don't think you understand how things are laid out.
Clearly I don't. When I go to the Controversial Topis Forum there are 6 threads there as your scroll down under NEW DISBOARD THREADS, including this one, and it is in the Community Forum too.

Exactly how do YOU go to the Controversial Topics Forum?

Where do you see "New Disboard Threads"?

Screen shots would help. Assuming you're using windows, you can press Windows+Shift+S. Your screen will dim slightly. Using your mouse, draw a box around the area you want to show. Once you've let go of the button, that image is in your clipboard. Simply paste (CTRL-V if you're not familiar with that) into the reply.

Oh, and if this is what you're referring to...

Those are NOT in the Controversial Threads subforum. That's one of the things Corey was making sure wouldn't happen (that threads in the subforum wouldn't show up there).

I throw my shirts and stuff into the washer *and* the dryer inside out, because they were closest to my skin and got dirtiest. When I take them out and fold them or hand them up I turn them right side out.

Clothes should be the right way out, AT MINIMUM, before they hit the dryer.

They should be right way out before they hit the laundry pile too but we live in an imperfect world.

Some clothes are better to wash inside out. That’s allowable. I cringe when things come out of the dryer inside out and the heat has set the fold lines to inverted. Long sleeve shirts 😭

I go to the list of forums and under the COMMUNITY BOARD it says Sub-forums. The fourth option is Controversial Topics.

That opens and I see:

The label on my wool socks says that they should be washed inside out, though.
These aren't real rules everyone needs to follow :rotfl2: Just in my house because my husband just leave his socks all scrunched up and all over the place. We are talking athletic socks 95% of the time over here. Your house, your laundry rules.

This makes sense now. The "New Disboards Threads" in your images are the "normal" footers that are at the bottom of every page. (Scroll down on this page and you'll see them). The ACTUAL "Controversial Threads" would show up in your second image, where it says "There are no threads in this forum"1706399715525.png
Those of us who are members of that subforum actually see threads there.

For some, understanding isn't a precondition for opining.

LOL someone that doesn't even have access to the sub forum, claims threads are appearing on the sub forum. Ayayayayay.
