Yick. It's like doing algebra, but in writing D:. (the parentheses xD)

I have no restdays planned for my May/June trip (I've done the planning since our last WDW trip; my parents aren't huge huge Disney fans), but I do have a day where I'm just going to ride the Mansion all day :p

My definition of a rest day:
[rest dey]
A day not fully commited to a single theme park. or the theme parks not being the main event for the day.

It's a little sad that I'm obsessively planning my trip a year and a half a head of time D:

But I may as well, I've got no other trips planned.

Hey LE- you're a D23 member right? Are you renewing? I am, I just don't know when I should do it.

hey! I do all the planning too! It goes like this:
Dad can i borrow the credit card
dad- why?
me- cuz i need it for _____________
dad- *looks extremely confused* okay your the one that knows this stuff. *hands credit card*
:P at least sometimes

but yeah..I've been doing the planning since my july '07 trip. I began my planning in april '07. I've gotten really good at it now.
Planning for DLR is easy but it's WDW that sometimes gives me a headache.
I've learned to make my touring plans very loose. as in not crammed with stuff.

yes I am D23. ;) I have no idea how to! my dad gets the emails and letters. which take about a month to get to me because my dad is often absent minded.

DLR is super easy. For our day trip my planning went like this:
Book motel right next to the crosswalk to the esplanade (2 weeks ahead of time, no requests, but we did end up facing the park!).
Get DL online tickets and check park hours (2 weeks ahead of time)
Book Blue Bayou (1 week ahead of time)
Have a basic game plan in head, but nothing restrictive, get there at park opening (we ended up doing more than we thought we would!)
And that's it. We even did DCA (well "did" as in saw Aladdin and the Blue Sky Cellar and I criticized the park as we did a slow walking tour)

We can renew on the Disneystore website :thumbsup2

WDW planning is a little more annoying, but I have a good gameplan.

I like to book a lot of meals because we prefer eating at sit-down restaurants, but the dining plans don't work for us (I've crunched the numbers).

I decide what park to go to/when, I book the ADRs, and I know (pretty much) what the first few rides/FPs I want to do/collect. From there on out its whatever. For this next trip, we'll do rope drop in the beginning, and slow out towards the end.

hey! i like that park! just 'cause your a local

haha but i understand it from an Imagineering/artistic point of view

I freaaakeed out the day we drove into the DLR area to check into our motel. It was night, a few hrs before the parks closed and I nearly cried when I saw Paradise Pier to my left. For months I had seen pictures, but it was so amazing to see in person!

I don't have many memories of my previous DL trips, so it was just a great experience.

I'm not a local *yet* :p

I will be when I'm in college for sure. Especially if I go to Cal State Fullerton- it's 15 minutes away from DLR!

yeah Ive got my formula down now.

I enjoy eating at sitdown restaurants also. its great having ADRs. haha Ive also cruched the numbers and it didnt work for us. one of the most confusing days of my life when i was crunchin' them numbers. :headache: hahah

pretty much same here. for Epcot we do rope drop. finish future world and go back to hotel. then come back at sunset to tour world showcase

for D23 will you be doing gold or silver? I think I'm gonna go with gold for me self

I'm going with Gold. Silver is worht it if there's another member in your household (that way you only get one set of magazines for 2 memberships), but since I can't really get to any events, the magazines are a big part of the membership for me.

I'm hoping there'll be an Alice event *so I guess I should renew ASAP.

*and I'm hoping Tim Burton will be there
