Speaking of wrapping, my DH does most all of ours cuz I am so not any good at wrapping.

I LOVE to wrap presents!!
Send them over!
I get to finish that up today! Plus bake MORE cookies and clean part of the house.
But....DD is home!! so that makes me a happy camper!!
And DS is coming tomorrow evening until the 26th! WE aren't all together very often anymore...so this is great!!

LOL.....about present wrapping. We received a box from BIL and guess what? Two of the presents are wrapped in......garbage bags!! with bows stuck on the side.

Elaine...I have spare maps Let me know if you want some.

I took a lot because I did end up giving all mine away last time. People around herre planning and I even sent a set to a Dis-er that was planning.

Ohhh....Jodie gets to start packing!!!

Geez I love you Ya Yas!!!! It is so wonderful....you have no idea...to have ya'll be excited with me!!!!! I wish I could take each and every one of you with me!!!! Soooo....some gifts are wrapped....NANCY , see Elaine and I have grocery bag company out there!!! LOL!!!!.......and I just finished 40 minutes on my bike!!! Off to shower, meet with the pet sitter, do a little shopping, visit my sister's MIL (sweet, lonely 85 year old lady...who could give Mickey Mouse a run for his money!! ), then home to pack some more!!! I've wrapped presents in brown paper bags before. But now I use them mostly for recycling newspapers. Perfect size, too. Just stuff em full & put them on or near the bin for the city to pick up each week. The bags with handles are even better. Just don't lift them *too* fast or... rriiipppp.... the handles tear right off.

I skipped breakfast, so I am now off to find that leftover pizza. Anyone want some? Double pepperoni & pineapple. Yuummmmmmm.

I am so disappointed. I have that $20 gift certificate to the mall and they STILL DON'T have Disney charms for my bracelet... they had Sponge Bob (not something I am into). Hopefully next week they said *sigh*

Nancy... I'll have to think about that map offer there... I really totally forgot about myself. But I don't want you to have to go through the trouble of sending them.

Jodie, of course we are excited for you! I just wish I could go with you on your trip And enjoy wrapping your presents like that

Although in all seriousness, I do use our paper bags just as you said Jay... not near as fun as wrapping though

Somehow that reminds me of a guy I dated in high school. I should have known exactly what he thought of me when he got me a $2 bear wrapped in a brown bag... now that shows love, doesn't it? (oh and I know he had the money to spend since I saw what he got a few other of his friends).

I love wrapping too...but I think I've bagged a gift or two in my day...personally I never look a gift horse in the wrapping...huh? I love presents!!!

I got my DIS-CON package today!
Mickey's Sunshine (Christine) sent me a bunch of cute stuff, some pics, and an autograph book that DIS'ers (including some YA YA's! YAY! Thanks y'all! ) signed and she added some stickers and pics and a trip report at the end of the book. Made my day!!

I will only eat pineapples on pizza. Weird, huh? And I LOVE double pepperoni. Sure beats the sandwich and chips I am eating right now.

DH called as is on his way home from practice. Actually, he's stopped at the car wash to clean the inside of the van out. Apparently one of my boys smashed a candy cane on the carpet, and some chocolate. UGH! I hope it comes out.

Soon as he eats lunch, I am off to face the crowds and finish my shopping. Gotta stop at the inlaws too and see if we are gonna pic names (SILS & BILS only) or just buy for MIL & FIL and the kids. I would prefer that, but I guess we'll find out soon. Nothing like waiting until the last minute.

I have plenty left over. I don't mind sharing at all. Even have some of the boneless chicken kickers too. LOL... no cholesterol tests for me in the near future!! Waaayyyy back in college I was introduced to pineapple on pizza. Ever since then, I just *love* it. But a lot of people think I'm kinda strange since I eat it that way.

I don't mind how presents are wrapped, really. I'll admit it... after years of wrapping, I love using gift bags. If other people use them, you can either get yours back or use the ones they gave you (we use the ones we receive). Keeps it fresh each time, it's easier to stuff, and cheaper in the long run too. If we do get wrapping paper, we get it after Christmas at 50-75% off. We've found some cool Dis wrapping that way too.

Hello everybody. Sorry I haven't been around since last weekend. This past week has really been hectic. The kids at school were ready to party around Wednesday. Then the afterschool activities just didn't stop. I think the only night that I was home was Thursday. It has been really hard working full time, taking care of the house, keeping up with two kids and getting ready for the holidays as a single parent.

I envy all of you who are wrapping gifts. I haven't even started shopping yet. No kidding.

Steve doesn't come in until Christas Eve night and then he leaves on Sunday. He will be in Florida for New Year's Eve and I will be in Ohio. We thought about me flying there but I just can't do that and leave teenagers at home. They both have parties and this will be Chris's last one with high school friends. The things we do to keep kids happy. I am starting to get bummed that I will only see Steve for 5 days. We just can't justify the expense of either of us flying for one night. We have to keep in mind that at least he has a job this year. What a difference a year makes. Of course it will take us 10 years to recover from the financial damage that the year causes. Just can't seem to make up for it while sending kids to college. WE are lucky that we have our health and that we didn't lose everything else. Guess all that saving for the rainy day paid off.

Anyway, that is my moment of feeling down. So how has everyone been doing?

Oh Marilyn, you are a great and wonderful grandmother. Wish my two had had you for theirs. My mom died when they were 2 and 5 and when we moved back to Cincinnati 5 1/2 years ago, I would have given my right arm if Steve's mom would have treated them nice. They were 9 and 12 and she never asked them over for anything. However, she did have the other cousins over to spend the night(they were the children of her daughters) Of course this caused some very hurt feelings. The other cousins would tell my two about the Girl's overnight or the Boy's overnight at Grandma's. Alice died 8 months after we moved back. My two have grandparents that they can remember or the memories the other created were sad. Steve's dad is still alive but he just isn't the grandpa type.

You are wonderful and always stay the sweet grandma you are.

I think Im gonna try the Pizza tonight. Worst it can do is upset my tummy. Im kinda used to it by now. The mexican did not kill my stomach at all last night. Wooooo hoooooo. Maybe Im turning a corner....please oh please oh please.

Jeannie I have a long way to go before I would be wasting away LOL. I do look ratty in that picture though. I had not eaten for two days when that picture was taken and I wasnt feeling at my best.

Accck I cant seem to get my tushie in gear to go and get the gift certs that I need for the Neices and Nephews. I could send dh but I wanted to get them a little something to go with the gift certificates. I dont want to drive the poor man nuts trying to buy things for three little girls and two little boys hehehehehehehe.

Second... for all you that are making fun of paper bag wrap....I'll have you know that 2 years ago I saved all the the packing paper we got during the year and in Nov I had the girls use christmas themed sponges and sponge painted them, then gave it a light mist of glitter. It was beautiful!!! ANd lasted 2 1/2 years!!! You can be pretty AND enviro friendly (and cure a cabin fever afternoon!!! )
