My DD is 14 and shown zero interest in dating--I am counting my blessings.

Looks like I won't make it to Michigan until later today or tomorrow. What's it like up there? We have about 4 inches of heavy wet snow here, and Tim took my 4 wheel drive because he had to drive to Perrysburg.

Jennifer have a great day at The Nutcracker. Allison and I used to go every year and I bought her a Nutcracker each year for her to remember our tradition. We have 6 Nutcrackers. Don't know if we will make it this year. I am a bad mom. Just wanted to let you know that I miss hanging with you too. Vacation is just a week away.

Jodie, that was me last night rubbing your forehead with a Tuck's pad. I saw that you had the "ring/bracelet" on and thought that the Tuck's may help you also. Also thought that since dipping a person's hand in warm water while they sleep causes certain body functions to happen, well I thought a different function may happen with a Tuck's pad. I am a bad bad girl. But it was a lot of fun!!!! If you are mad then it wasn't me that did that.

Chris is taking his ACT for the second time just to see if his score can be improved. Allison is at a sleep over and I pick her up at 11. I need to run to Toys R Us and get some playstation 2 games for Chris. My soon to be 18 year old wants them for his birthday. Got to love the little boy in him. I will be stopping by a little later today.

Oh and to our new bother, Shep. My suggestion to you about the long post is: Get used to it. Us Ya Yas are so full of great information that we must share. Anyway, who does Shep think he is? Jason Lyons Jr.

wrap, wrap, wrap and then wrap some more.
Later this afternoon Beth and I are having an online chat. Tomorrow I have to make 10 lbs of homemade Italian sausage patties to freeze for Christmas Eve. A tradition my Grandfather started when I was a little girl. If I didn't do it my brothers would have my hide.

Ewww Bonnie, wet heavy snow. It's cloudy here but is supposed to be around 45 today.

Betty, grandson will be 16 and most of what we got him for Xmas is PS2 and X-Box games. He loves them.

Jen, that knitting bag Carol made you is absolutely adorable.

Well, off to read the paper and then start my wrapping.

JENNIFER IS A BLOB!! Hey Jennifer...I CAN wait for the dating years...and they are swiftly approaching!!! HELP ME!!! Caitlin came home from the middle school Christmas dance last night, grabbed my hand and pulled me into her room closing the door behind us....I knew this was serious!! She said, "Mom, is it ok if I have a boyfriend even though I am not allowed to date yet?"
My instinct? LOCK THE DOOR TO HER ROOM AND LET HER OUT AGAIN WHEN SHE IS 21!!!! Instead I calmly asked who the lucky guy was. They danced twice...guess that makes them a "couple" She said an 8th grader asked her to dance too....but he was "scary" and she said no!!!! GOOD GIRL!!! I asked why he was scary...she answered, everything was pierced, he was dressed in all black and his hair was spiked!!!!! OH GOOOOOD GIRL!!!!! Heaven help me thru the next few years!!! Now I know why my parents put me in an all girl's Catholic school!!!! Have fun at the Nutcracker today....hope you can stay awake!!! You need a couple of these choc. covered coffee beans that Kim sent me yesterday....WHOA...instant ZING!!!!

Morning to all I missed!!! Carol that knitting bag ornament is adorable!!! Gotta run....GS troop Christmas party today from 1-3! Gotta go find the "cool" Christmas cds (that is opposed to my "uncool ones"), finishe the tree, bring out the dishes (each girl brings food to share) and get ready for some fun!!! Sorry I havent been posting much. Been going through a rough time with Midi YaYa. Got a call from both the principal and the teacher yesterday. This is definitely NOT like my kiddo. I guess I have just had a case of the blahs lately.

Help somebody get me out of the mood Im in today. Im currently sitting on my hands trying to avoid responding to a post here about ADHD. I am SO SICK of people referring to ADHD kids on meds as being DRUGGED UP. I would not be the least bit nice if I responded. I have an ADHD/Gifted son on meds.....the same one I got called about yesterday and it HURTS when people describe kids like this. They are not drugged. We medicate because we HAVE to not because we want an angel child. Doesnt work that way. My child being on meds is no different than a diabetic on insulin or someone with high blood pressure taking meds to control that. Arrrrrrrrrrrgh.

Well, I'll do one long post and then back to cleaning.
How can a house get so dirty with no one home? The kitties must have had some party!!

Elaine....I think I will be skipping the read too. Can't keep up with everything. Carol was kind enough to take "notes" for me. I just have to have time to read them!

Carol....cakes! Yum!! I'm ready. I got spoiled eating so well while we were gone. We had some incredible meals and now it is back to "homestyle"
And....Carol is now sick too Carol, feel better. You weren't supposed to do that part of the trip with me!!

Jennifer...what a fun filled day. Hope you aren't too tired to enjoy it.

Betty....Boys and video games never end!! It is an ongoing passion. My DS23 is also getting games this year and he just told me he is buying an X-Box too.

I know it is hard to listen to people that may not know what they are talking about. For some kids medication is the solution......but for some it isn't. The problem is that medication is given too easily to some that don't need it. I haven't followed that thread, but Carol mentioned it, because of just having met Tiggerlover and her DS.

And now I must get back to the housework....neverending laundry pile and hopefully some Christmas decorations. I NEED them NOW!!
DH is supposed to get the lights up today....but heavy rain and wind will probably prevent it. We might go lightless this year

EEEK sorry it was nothing that was posted on THIS thread it was in the ADHD thread itself. I happened on that thread while surfing the CB. Nothing bad was said about meds or giving kids meds on this thread. I should know better than to even read threads about ADHD because this kind of what I want to class as namecalling always happens.

Karen, I am so sorry to hear about your mood. Just remember people have strong opinions based on what they think is best for their child and sometimes they think that what is best for theirs is best for everyone. I know we would all agree that some children are "drugged up" on meds when they don't need it. But there are many children out there that need those meds to keep the children in line. I think some people forget things like that when they post and forget that what is good for one is not necessarily good for many. So just ignore them and remember that your DS needs it and as long as you know that is true then nothing else should matter {hugs} (and I know from personal experience, easier said than done)

Nancy, very wise of you not to worry about catching up. We all just mesh back together nicely and if something really important was missed, I am sure we will hear about it again Just make sure you go look at the thread I put up last night
